@tobeornottobe1 no problem. Let me know how it goes with the physio. I have some exercises I can share if you are interested. I must confess I am not good at doing them regularly! x

PeanutButterFalcon · 25/02/2021 16:43

Had my scan today. Baby is stubborn so couldn’t get all the images they needed and won’t be rescanning due to covid. Also didn’t find out what we are having.
Can’t believe we don’t see them again until they’re born now!

Aw no @PeanutButterFalcon that's such a shame. How are you feeling about it? Seems weird they couldn't get all the measurements but won't recan because of covid - you'd think it's important enough to reschedule?

THATbasicSNOWFLAKE · 25/02/2021 17:08

Assume they got the important bits @PeanutButterFalcon, i had to do all sorts of rolling over etc as our little one wouldn't show his spine

It is weird to think the next time you will likely see baby is at the birth!

@PeanutButterFalcon Ah no that's a shame, did they get you to go for a walk and come back to see if baby had moved? I can't believe they won't rebook for something like this!

This might be a ridiculously stupid question but if most people don't have another scan after 20 weeks... how does one know if a baby is breech? Obv at 20 weeks baby is still small and shifting around so you can't tell if they will be breech later on. Is it a case of monitoring where movements are or can a midwife feel your bump and tell if its breech?

THATbasicSNOWFLAKE · 25/02/2021 17:21

Yes @Luckyelephant1, midwife feels and measures bump from 28 weeks, any concerns about size or positioning and they refer for additional scans. I think undiagnosed breech is pretty rare nowadays

PeanutButterFalcon · 25/02/2021 19:01

@BananaCustard85 we just laughed that the baby refused to move. Not much else we can do.

@THATbasicSNOWFLAKE @Luckyelephant1we went for a walk, went back, had a few jiggles and tried again. The sonographer was desperately trying to get it because we can’t go back. We could see the heart and limbs and that was it! Typically.

I still don’t feel ready to buy anything I thought I would after this scan!

@PeanutButterFalcon ours was the same I had to lay in about four different positions, go for a wee, have the bed tipped right back to get everything the scan lady needed.

I feel like I’m ready to start doing the baby’s room in April time now - keep looking online for ideas - thinking of Navy, White and gold then adding more colours once he/she is here. I think it will feel real once the babys room is done :) still hardly got a bump and feel the same as I did pre pregnancy so doesn’t feel real yet to me haha xx

BananaCustard85 · 25/02/2021 20:15

I had to keep rolling over too and at one point the sonographer was prodding my bump haha, must be quite common for them to be in an awkward spot.

Still plenty of time for shopping 🙂I have a big old wish list, it could really do with some editing down!

MilkshakeandChips5 · 25/02/2021 20:26

Hi everyone! Hoping it's okay if I join? I'm due on July 13th. Our first and a baby girl. We had a crappy 12 week scan where we basically had a super high NT measurement and we're told to expect the worst... 8 weeks later and they can't find any other problems. We had our 20 week scan on Tuesday and all was okay (from what they could see) so we're trying to be positive. Finding it tough to reconnect with the pregnancy and baby after expecting crappy news for so long and still such a long way to go! Hope you're all doing well!

THATbasicSNOWFLAKE · 26/02/2021 08:10

Glad you had a positive scan @MilkshakeandChips5 such a relief!

I had really bad round ligament pains last night which seemed to spread right round to my back, all following a sneeze! It was so painful Sad i don't remember them being this bad before!

pinkgin8 · 26/02/2021 09:54

Got my scan today! Looking forward to it. Bit nervous too!

Mummy2O · 26/02/2021 10:09

@MilkshakeandChips5 I know how you are feeling. We were given a high risk of Edward's and Patau's syndromes after the 12 week scan, but an amniocentesis later confirmed all is fine. I feel like I just can't get my hopes up yet because of it. I am hoping one the little wriggler is moving more I will feel more connected (I have started to feel some movement now and that is definitely helping).

I have my 20 week scan on Monday and I am really anxious about it.

Mummy2O · 26/02/2021 10:10

@pinkgin8 Hope your scan goes well today. Good luck.

THATbasicSNOWFLAKE · 26/02/2021 10:59

Good luck @pinkgin8!

I do find babies movements reassuring that all is ok, nearing 22 weeks here now! Had one of my older dc at 38 weeks so you know thats like 16 weeks away Shock

MilkshakeandChips5 · 26/02/2021 11:21

@Mummy2O it's nice to know someone in the same boat! We had a risk of 1:5 for all three so it feels insane that we're now at a point of seeing no issues. Wishing you lots of luck on Monday!

Mummy2O · 26/02/2021 12:40

@MilkshakeandChips5 Thank you. I kind of just want it over and done with now. It feels weird.

Warrickdaviesasplates · 26/02/2021 13:48

Good luck for your scan today @pinkgin8

Did anyone have to have a lateral flow Covid test before their scan? I've just got a letter through inviting me for a test one hour before my scan. I'm worried if I don't go that I won't be able to have a scan but if I go to the test I'll struggle to get to my scan on time due to public transport and location.

Warrickdaviesasplates · 26/02/2021 13:50

Also best of luck to @Mummy2O and @MilkshakeandChips5 with your pregnancies, I hope it all gets easier for you as time goes on.

notalwaysalondoner · 26/02/2021 13:56

I also thought I’d feel ready to buy stuff but it feels scary to take the plunge with the first purchase! I have several tabs open with some things in the basket though! It’s harder to find cute stuff without knowing the gender too - it’s all boring grey and white mostly, although H&M have some more interesting colours that are still neutral. Doesn’t help my mum is very discouraging from buying things - think she is of the mindset that things can go wrong and you should wait until week 38 or something before buying things...!

THATbasicSNOWFLAKE · 26/02/2021 14:05

I really need to get baby clothes from smallest dc out and see what i actually already have!

pinkgin8 · 26/02/2021 14:53

Had my scan. Everything is fine 😁💙

Mummy2O · 26/02/2021 14:55

I don't think I could wait until week 38.i would be panicking about the baby coming early or stuff not arriving. Confused

LouLikesLollies · 26/02/2021 15:04

@FemaleLady @PurpleCurtain Sorry for the late response! I had two days of no movement and since then have had quite a lot, thank god! I was worried at the time but also know it’s still so early for movement so was trying not to get too stressed out. Hope you both have felt more movement since also 😊

I have my ‘20 week scan’ on Monday when I will actually be 22 weeks. Feels like it’s taken forever to come around. Extremely nervous but also excited to see my hopefully healthy baby and find out the sex!

PeanutButterFalcon · 26/02/2021 15:22

@notalwaysalondoner I think I could swap mums with you currently. Mine wants to go shopping (when restrictions lift) and I don’t think I’ll ever be ready. I am well and truly avoiding it and 38 weeks sounds perfect to me right now
