I don't dare say it out loud yet or celebrate or get excited or anything but I'm 4 weeks pregnant today.

Anyone else out there just had a positive test result and want to keep me company?

Fawn68 · 14/02/2021 20:33

I have a scan on 3rd March at EPU so hoping everything will be ok then!

Hv903 · 14/02/2021 20:36

@Fawn68 thank you! This had helped ease my mind. I'm so glad I am not the only person worrying about every little thing. I seriously don't know how I'm going to stay sane until my first scan xx

BelleBeau · 14/02/2021 20:53

It's so nice to read others all feeling the same! I think I'm due around 21st October. Im desperate for a scan or anything! Seems like the longest wait ever!
It's my first and I really want to tell my mum, but would love to tell her face to face! So frustrating.

Where do people tend to go for private scans?

Kittysw · 14/02/2021 21:14

@BelleBeau I was wondering about the early scans as well. I don't know if its worth it but just to have something as it is such a long wait.

I have told my best friend just for a bit of support as well as my DF. I know my mum would stress and worry so I at least have someone to chat to about it and I will tell everyone else hopefully at the 12 week mark.

StopTouchingYourFairyGarden · 14/02/2021 22:25

Google scan places near you, I'm not in a particularly populated area and each of the nearest towns all have a place and the nearest city has loads so there should be something relatively nearby.

Our 6 week one is booked but I'll actually be 6+6 so hopefully should be good, should be able to hear the heartbeat etc all being well.

They are expensive though, the one I've booked for a few weeks time is £70 and we'll probably book one for every few weeks until 12 weeks like with previous pregnancies. DH is super nervous about it all so just wants to throw money at it to make himself feel better....

The later ones with 4D are over £100 but they are really pretty cool.

Kittysw · 14/02/2021 23:40

@StopTouchingYourFairyGarden I will have a little google then and see what I can find. My DF is also super nervous and doesn't want to get excited until we have some solid positive news.

They are a bit pricey aren't they but I guess worth it all the same.

tigertummy · 15/02/2021 07:11

An early scan is soo tempting!

@sneakpeek1414 I've just ordered more tests! Couldn't help myself

OP posts:
StopTouchingYourFairyGarden · 15/02/2021 07:29

They do help with the nervousness. I've also got those digital tests and so far it's gone from 'Pregnant 1-2' to 'Pregnant 2-3' so that helps a bit. I'll do another next weekend and hopefully it says 3-4. With previous pregnancies I had a blood test at the IVF clinic to measure HCG so that helped.

The scans are pretty expensive but we're trying to think we're not commuting at the moment and not going out for dinner or drinks or anything so spending it on this instead!

sneakpeek1414 · 15/02/2021 08:36

@tigertummy I'd 100% go for the scan! Defo worth the money to put your mind at rest in my opinion!

@StopTouchingYourFairyGarden I've just ordered some of those digitals, they should be here via Prime today 🤗

BelleBeau · 15/02/2021 09:23

I've just booked my scan! Having something to look forward to and just give me some peace of mind for now!

1boo1 · 15/02/2021 10:01

@ Oooo I've just ordered some of those. Will do one when it arrives. And then one towards mid next week and hope that it shows different 😊 at least its something in the meantime!

I'm not sure if they say 3-4 weeks 3+ might be the highest? I may be wrong but might save you some money if so!

@bellebeau exciting about your scan! When is it booked for.. How many weeks will you be? I'm going to look into them properly after I've done my tests x

BelleBeau · 15/02/2021 10:05

I'm going to do another digital at the end of the week I think to see if it's changed too!

@1boo1 it's booked for a week on Friday! So I'll be bang on 6 weeks. My fiance and I decided we'd tell our parents at 6 weeks, so to have the scan image will be ideal x

1boo1 · 15/02/2021 10:17

@BelleBeau exciting! I want to tell mine at 6 weeks.. DH doesn't want to tell his until much later which is fine by me!

Will be lovely to share a picture with them 😊

tigertummy · 16/02/2021 18:01

I cracked and got 2 morning digit tests

tigertummy · 16/02/2021 18:01

Let's try that again

I cracked and got 2 more digital tests

OP posts:
1boo1 · 16/02/2021 18:09

@tigertummy when are you taking them? Let us know how you get on x

1boo1 · 16/02/2021 18:13

I did a CB digital yesterday after my positive FRERs last week (Like you do 😂) and it came up 2-3 weeks. Yesterday was 4+1 so seems about right? I have one more to take mid next week to check it says 3+ for peace of mind if I can wait that long!

Researched early scans in our area this afternoon and contacted 3 places. 2 of them offer a rescan if your dates aren't quite right and it's a bit early and one doesn't so will go with one of those to stop me worrying. They said should be able to see heartbeat at 6 weeks 🙂 range from £65-80 does this sound about right?

Kittysw · 16/02/2021 18:36

How everyone doing symptom wise?

I still have cramps on and off through the day and for the last 2 nights at 4am I have been woke up by awful stomach ache followed by diarrhea (sorry TMI) and feeling super sick. Then it passes after about 10/15mins and I'm fine.

Has anyone else experienced anything like this?

sneakpeek1414 · 16/02/2021 18:38

@1boo1 I'm 4+2 and got 2-3 this morning too! Might plan is the same as yours haha do one next week to check for that 3+

The scan I'm looking at is £60 so thinking that's right! Can't wait til we all get to that point! Think I'm going to book for 7 weeks.

AmyTTC · 16/02/2021 18:42

@Kittysw hey lovely. Sorry to hear you've been feeling like this.

I'm 5 weeks today, so far the only signs I'm having is heartburn which is horrible. I've never suffered with it before and just relentless at the moment.

And I'm peeing so much lol at least I'm getting good exercise up and down the stairs to the toilet 🤣 and I've been a bit constipated and bloated.

My cramps have stated to become less frequent now and less strong. So I'm hoping I'm coming to the end of them now!

Conundrum12345 · 16/02/2021 19:20

I'm 4+1 and nausea is getting worse. Got a bit sick today and both nausea a metalic taste has lingered for the past 10 days. Anyone else have this?

Andrushy · 16/02/2021 19:21

Hi Guys!
Am still waiting a few more days to take a second test and am going mad! ( first one on saturday was negative as it was too early) I just cannot wait any longer to have 100% confirmation so I can tell parents:) any of you experience that sleeping on their tummy flat out doesnt work any more? Also have so much gas/ bubbles going on in lower abdomen its crazy:) and feeling a preasure like feeling a bit like a stretching feeling.. x comes and goes

Andrushy · 16/02/2021 19:21

Oh and feels stronger on the left side.. anybody experience the same?

StopTouchingYourFairyGarden · 16/02/2021 19:41

I did a CB digital yesterday after my positive FRERs last week (Like you do 😂) and it came up 2-3 weeks. Yesterday was 4+1 so seems about right?

That seems good - i did my first test at 4+3 (I think) and got 1-2 weeks. I didn't get 2-3 weeks until 5 weeks.

I might be slightly out with my dates though as it's a bit of a surprise and I wasn't keeping track Blush

StopTouchingYourFairyGarden · 16/02/2021 19:44

Yep my early scan is £70. They only do Saturday mornings, and I turn 6 weeks on a Sunday, so I'll be 6+6 by the time I get it... Longer to wait but I'm hoping will be worth it as closer to 7 weeks will be a bit more reliable.
