36 weeks and baby is ‘quiet’ today

I normally feel him first thing in the morning when I wake up but I haven’t this morning. I came downstairs and had a coffee (that usually makes him move) he moved slightly (flutters but not as strong as normal) I’ve had a lie down on my left side as this usually gets him moving too but no movement. Is it normal to have ‘quiet’ days? I’ve had 3 growth scans so far and at each scan he has slightly dropped. He started on the 90th percentile and he’s now on the 50th. The doctor wasn’t overly concerned but I have to go back in 12 days for another scan and she said depending on the result of the scan I may need to be induced a little earlier. I will phone triage but I feel a bit silly doing so considering I have had a few flutters

Hi everyone! Thanks so much for your support and comments I am now home! Everything was fine with the scan so there was no need to induce straight away. I was told off a consultant that they would induce me at 37 weeks, but then a couple of hours later another doctor came to see me and said that it wasn’t necessary. So now, I have to go back on the 22nd for a growth scan. If that shows that his growth has dropped again then I’ll get a date for induction for around 38 weeks ish. If he has had a growth spurt then they will leave me. So I have had a lot of ups and downs these past few days and my head is muddled but at least on the 22nd I’ll have a definite plan in place. Thanks again for all of your support xxx

Thank you everyone it’s so nice to be home especially knowing that everything seems to be ok! Just got my fingers crossed for the growth scan now but the consultant said if I do have to be induced at around 38 weeks then he would be a good size xx

Glad to hear. 38 weeks is full term, anything from 37 onwards is so should be all great!

@CoffeeAndCaramel @PFin Hi, yes I’m good thanks Not sure if you read my last update but everything was fine and I was discharged from hospital! I have a growth scan tomorrow and then I see the consultant afterwards. If he has dropped below the line on the growth chart again then I will get given a date to get induced😬 Hoping that doesn’t happen but what will be will be! I will post a update tomorrow once I’ve been to hospital🙂

@Sparkles556 I've just seen this thread and wanted to say good luck :)

We had the growth issue a couple of years ago with our first, dropped off the curve so had to go back for another and was told if she'd not gone back up they would want to induce but she decided she didn't want to wait for that and arrived at just before 38 weeks 🙈 and was absolutely fine and a good weight of 6lb 7oz :)

@firsttimemummy321 thank you😊 I’m 38 weeks tomorrow and I’d really like that to happen to me as I had a bit of a nightmare with DS1 when I got induced with him but for some reason I just can’t see this one coming on his own but I think thats because DS1 came 2 weeks late so I’m expecting this one to be the same🙈 But fingers crossed you never know! The last 2 growth scans he has dropped lower each time so I don’t have much hope for today but my fingers are tightly crossed!

Hi everyone just an update So I am getting induced on Wednesday! I’ll be 38+1. The scan showed his growth has dropped again, not drastically, but the doctor thought it would be best to deliver him sooner rather than later! Not quite sure how I feel at the moment😬 Obviously I am excited to meet him but anxious too!

Oh my gosh! I can totally understand the excitement mixed with anxiety! It’s really good they are keeping a close eye on him and being cautious.

@Inkpaperstars Even though I’ve waited almost 9 months to meet him, the moment the consultant gave me the date I was like “ok this is really happening” I am very happy with the care I’ve received
