36 weeks and baby is ‘quiet’ today

I normally feel him first thing in the morning when I wake up but I haven’t this morning. I came downstairs and had a coffee (that usually makes him move) he moved slightly (flutters but not as strong as normal) I’ve had a lie down on my left side as this usually gets him moving too but no movement. Is it normal to have ‘quiet’ days? I’ve had 3 growth scans so far and at each scan he has slightly dropped. He started on the 90th percentile and he’s now on the 50th. The doctor wasn’t overly concerned but I have to go back in 12 days for another scan and she said depending on the result of the scan I may need to be induced a little earlier. I will phone triage but I feel a bit silly doing so considering I have had a few fluttersConfused

Absolutely mention the headache. Even if there is nothing untoward to worry about, they can give you some paracetamol.

justasking111 · 11/02/2021 22:54

Please mention the headache as others have said, it may be nothing but that is for them to decide. Hope you sleep better tonight.

LivingMyBestLife2020 · 11/02/2021 23:03

Please speak up OP. Nothing worse than being in the dark

TokyoSushi · 11/02/2021 23:05

Oh goodness, sounds like you're having a right time of it. Yes definitely mention the headache, they can help you get rid of it if nothing else, but it's worth mentioning everything at this stage. Flowers

SinkGirl · 11/02/2021 23:07

OP, if you haven’t already, please press the buzzer and tell them about your headache. That’s what took me to the hospital when my son stopped moving. Super important that they know Flowers

Crabbypaddy · 11/02/2021 23:56

As previous posters have said it’s really important you mention headaches. I had high bp full pregnancy then developed headaches and bad oedema and was diagnosed with pre eclampsia at 36 week and baby was delivered, safer for all involved. Please don’t wait until tomorrow to ask what the plan is, you’re well within your rights to know a treatment plan, no good for you sitting there guessing!

PFin · 12/02/2021 01:31

Hi OP so sorry your going through this but your in the right place, keep us posted.

DartmoorDoughnut · 12/02/2021 07:31

How you doing? Did you get some sleep? What have they said about your headache? Flowers

Sparkles556 · 12/02/2021 07:34

@DartmoorDoughnut I’m ok thanks, much better sleep than the night before. They gave me some paracetamol and it did eventually go, but I can feel another coming on so I’m going to mention it againSad Just waiting to go onto a monitor again x

Glad you slept better. Hope you can get some answers today

joystir59 · 12/02/2021 11:38

I hope get some answers very soon and your headache clears op. It could well be a stress headache.

Sparkles556 · 12/02/2021 11:46

Hi everyone just an update. Have to stay in one more night for 2 more lots of monitoring. Currently waiting for a scan to check the placenta and the blood flow etc. If they find something wrong on the scan then they’ll induce me straight away. If everything is ok with the scan they plan to induce me at/around 37 weeks. A little daunting but I’m just relieved I have some sort of plan

swaziscot · 12/02/2021 11:52

That’s good you’re getting a scan. I’m glad they’re on it and there’s a plan in place!

SharedLife · 12/02/2021 12:29

I'm glad they have a plan for you. Wishing you lots of luck xxx

Raindancer411 · 12/02/2021 12:33

All the best xx

LincolnshireLassInLondon · 12/02/2021 14:46

Hi OP, hope you're doing okay. I had a similar experience - reduced movements in week 36, growth tailing off and induction at 37 weeks. It was really daunting and not the birth I'd thought I'd have, but I now have a happy, healthy 9 month old DS. It's great you went in and are getting the care you need. Sending loads of good vibes Thanks

TheFoz · 12/02/2021 16:10

That’s great that you know what their plan is for you. Mind yourself 🌺

THATbasicSNOWFLAKE · 12/02/2021 17:11
