36 weeks and baby is ‘quiet’ today

I normally feel him first thing in the morning when I wake up but I haven’t this morning. I came downstairs and had a coffee (that usually makes him move) he moved slightly (flutters but not as strong as normal) I’ve had a lie down on my left side as this usually gets him moving too but no movement. Is it normal to have ‘quiet’ days? I’ve had 3 growth scans so far and at each scan he has slightly dropped. He started on the 90th percentile and he’s now on the 50th. The doctor wasn’t overly concerned but I have to go back in 12 days for another scan and she said depending on the result of the scan I may need to be induced a little earlier. I will phone triage but I feel a bit silly doing so considering I have had a few fluttersConfused

I’m so sorry the codeine is making you ill! If it’s any consolation, they brushed my husband off just as much as me. In the end I think I came across as much more desperate than he did, and that was more effective!!
Big hand hold! I remember the despair when I was told at 5am that they wouldn’t be examining me until mid day. I thought “there’s no way I can do this!” Flowers

Sparkles556 · 26/02/2021 23:17

@EarlGreywithLemon I asked before if there was someone available to just check me again but she said it needs to be a doctor for the next examination as what’s going on down there will determine what they are going to do with me next and that decision needs to be made by a doctor. All very frustrating Sad

This makes me so angry on your behalf! I’m so sorry. The PP’s suggestion that your husband rings the ward is a good idea.

Frazzled2207 · 26/02/2021 23:26

Just popping in to say best of luck. It sounds all very frustrating but you’re being well looked after and you’ll meet your baby very soon!

archery50 · 26/02/2021 23:31

Good luck for tomorrow

onemorerose · 26/02/2021 23:32

FourDecades · 27/02/2021 06:00

I was induced on due date for both my DS and had entinox when l was only 2cm dilated.

Fieldsofstars · 27/02/2021 06:52

Sunbird24 · 27/02/2021 07:07

Gosh you really have been through it OP. Really hope today is the day you get to meet your little boy

Worldwide2 · 27/02/2021 07:23

Oh bless you, my induction was very similar to this. It was so long the waiting killed me.
Hopefully the doctor will come and check you very soon so you have ssomme answers 🤞🏻

THATbasicSNOWFLAKE · 27/02/2021 07:30

Ok well atleast you have had a rest! You need your strength and energy for the birth! 🤞 today is the day!

I've never had an induction but think it may be suggested at 40 weeks this time, i really do not fancy this! Flowers

Sparkles556 · 27/02/2021 07:35

@Mooey89 @Worldwide2 thank you both x

@THATbasicSNOWFLAKE I had a induction with DS1. Came in on the Tuesday and had him on the Thursday so it’s taking longer this time although everyone said it would be quicker the second time around😩 I thought I had a bit of a rough time with him but it was easy compared to this! Don’t let my experience worry you, I must just be a very unlucky person! There was a girl who came in on Thursday at 5pm, so a day and a bit more behind me, and she had her baby yesterday at just gone 5. So yeah I guess I’m just really unluckyGrin

My induction took 5 days ..sounds very much like yours it was a nightmare. I had pethidine for two of the days and then as soon as I was put on the drip and waters broke I asked for an epidural as by that time I was sick of being in pain and couldn't face the contractions ramping up.

Sawyersfishbiscuits · 27/02/2021 07:52

Oh my gosh, bless you OP. I've literally just RTWT and was hoping for some wonderful news for you by this point.
Sending you luck and speedy vibes.

HoneysuckIejasmine · 27/02/2021 07:53

Oh OP, it is rotten. Are you in a private room? I did find I was almost forgotten about when I was in a side room. Feel free to make a fuss if you need information, and remember your care isn't just physical, you need to be kept informed and understand what's happening.

Sparkles556 · 27/02/2021 08:05

@Sawyersfishbiscuits Thanks so much x

@HoneysuckIejasmine yeah I’m in a private room. That’s how I feel, totally forgotten about. Been waiting for a doctor since 7:30pm last night. I think if they still haven’t been to see me by 10 then I’m going to have to say something

Jubaju · 27/02/2021 09:07

This sounds similar to my induction. Failed pessaries, no progress at all even when they broke my waters and I was contracting on the drip. Ending up in a an emcs.
At what point will they decide it’s a failed induction- you poor thing, you are going to be exhausted 😔
Get an epidural 🤞
Fingers crossed things speed up soon x

Peachyqueen · 27/02/2021 09:35

Don't wait til 10, @Sparkles556. Kick up a fuss now. Yes the NHS are understaffed, overworked and things are extremely difficult right now but they still have have duty of care to you and right now, it's not being fulfilled.

If you still don't get anywhere, Google the phone number for your hospitals PALS.
