So this may be a little early to even start a thread. I got a positive digital test at 3 weeks 5 days. Today I am 4 weeks. From the date of my last period (11th January), my due date would be 18th October 2021 I know it's very early days and anything (literally) can happen but I was hoping to find like minded people!

When do people generally contact their GP?

Morning! How is everyone today?
Are there any Hayfever suffers on here? Mine has just started up, joys, usually take Benadryl but the pack says speak to a GP before use in pregnancy. Anyone know what tablets are pregnancy safe for allergies? I definitely can't carry on like this until October 😂 I sound like a tractor when I'm asleep apparently 😂 x

jellybean13419 · 13/03/2021 08:03

@Raggeo oh blimey, what a scary time for you. I'm so sorry. That is fab news that EPU got you in and checked everything over. Lovely that you got to see the little bean and it is measuring exactly spot on 💗

mooloop · 13/03/2021 10:17

@Raggeo oh bless you that sounds so scary. I'm glad you've seen your little one looking good on a scan now though! 🥰

Cpr12 · 13/03/2021 10:59

@raggeo sounds very stressful, but glad all is ok! How you feeling now?

Just had my early scan and despite losing all my symptoms baby is totally fine! So anyone worrying about it, feeling good doesnt have to be a bad thing 😊 off to actually enjoy a walk in the sun without needing to stop to be sick 😂

cravingmilkshake · 13/03/2021 11:09

Hi @MF1981 I think we are both due twins and at a similar time? My due date is 20th October but obviously will come early. How are you doing?

Jl2020 · 13/03/2021 11:19

@Raggeo how scary but glad everything is ok and you got to see your little one :)

@jellybean13419 my hayfever hasn't started yet but I'm sure it will soon so also will be on the lookout for safe antihistamines to use.

@Cpr12 congratulations on your scan so glad it went well :)
I still have no symptoms iv convinced myself when I do go for a scan there is going to be nothing there or there will be no heartbeat like last time. But it is nice to hear other people with no symptoms are having healthy pregnancies as it's definitely not something you hear about often, I guess it's because most people only express when they are feeling rubbish not when they are feeling great lol but that's why it's so nice to have you all to speak to

mooloop · 13/03/2021 11:22

Aww fantastic news @Cpr12, congratulations 🥰

I'm so nervous for my early scan next weekend, praying all is ok 🤞🏻🍀🙏🏻

MF1981 · 13/03/2021 11:23

@cravingmilkshake I’m 9 weeks today and due on 16th Oct but yeah thinking it’ll more likely be September. I’m really struggling with the nausea and feel tired a lot. Also often freak out about having 2 babies to care for when I’ve never even had 1 before! How are you feeling?

JGthistle · 13/03/2021 11:39

Hi @jellybean13419 ... I suffer from hayfever too and get prescribed tablets etc from the doc. I'm up in Scotland so no pollen as yet lol usually doesn't kick in till the end of April. Was planning to ask the midwife at my appointment or doc if symptoms kick in before. Dreading the streaming eyes and itching ... and tractor sounds Grin

whitershadeofpale · 13/03/2021 13:07

Hayfever kicking in for me today too, I might have to go to the GP next week.

Cpr12 · 13/03/2021 13:37

@jl2020 it is such a scary time, hopefully all will be fine. I really wanted to share as I honestly feel fab right now, no sickness, even my boobs are not sore right now.

@mooloop all will be fine I am sure 😘

whitershadeofpale · 13/03/2021 15:25

Has anyone been finding that they’re quite breathless? Little things like walking up the stairs have left me a bit out of puff.

8dpwoah · 13/03/2021 16:23

Oh lots of updates! Hope everyone managing ok.
I have started getting breathless too, I need to go and do my bloods next week and would be surprised if I don't come back mildly anaemic.
Lots of us should be starting to benefit from placenta kicking in around now I think? I hope!

Kona84 · 13/03/2021 17:02

@whitershadeofpale yes I was cleaning today and had to have a sit down.
Also started getting shaky hunger, trying to eat small every couple of hours can’t really make it from breakfast to lunch and lunch to tea without snacking which is not my normal

bushhbb · 13/03/2021 17:05

@pinkpig381

Has anyone felt faint at all? In my pregnancy with my son I had fainting spells whilst queuing in shops and it happened again today in boots! So embarrassing, halfway through being served and I had to say to her I'm going to faint! She was so lovely and got a pharmacy assistant and they helped me get to a chair and got me a bottle of water. I tried to breathe through it when I felt it coming on but I think it was too late, my hearing went and I felt my legs going! Luckily it passed quickly once I sat down (in front of an audience might I add Blush) I'm 9 weeks tomorrow so baby isn't even big yet!

I get this too, the worst thing that causes it is blood tests and skipping breakfast. And for some reason it's always in public that it's brought on😂

firstimemumma29 · 13/03/2021 17:06

Just had an early scan at 7 weeks and we saw a nice little heartbeat I would highly recommend if it's accessible for you as it's such nice reassurance to actually see a little baby (even though it's tiny!)

mooloop · 13/03/2021 17:16

@whitershadeofpale yeah totally, feel like I'm puffing just walking the dog now!

When are people telling family? DH wants to tell just our parents on his birthday which is 2 days before my 12 week scan. I'm going for an early scan next Saturday when I'll be approx 8+3, but I think I'd be worried to tell people 4 weeks after that before having another scan as I know things can still go wrong. I would love to tell them then too though!

We would tell them if something went wrong for support regardless, but I would be gutted to get everyone excited to then have bad news. Not sure what to do! What would you all do? 🧐

mooloop · 13/03/2021 17:17

Missed that post @firstimemumma29!! Aww look at your little bean floating about in there 😍🥰 congratulations! Loving seeing all these early scan pics!

Cpr12 · 13/03/2021 17:25

@mooloop I told my family about 3 hours after finding out and since have told lots of people. I had a loss at just over 19 weeks in 2019 and did think of not wanting to get their hopes up. But since my loss I am pretty against the wait for 12 weeks to tell people after hearing horrendous stories of people miscarrying all alone. So went for it. My niece and nephews were all practically in tears when they found out so well worth telling them. And if the worst happens, then we just have to all be sad together I guess. But having said that, the worst is not happening, this baby is coming home 1st october, already did a deal with it :) good luck whatever you decide to do xx

mooloop · 13/03/2021 17:31

That's so lovely @Cpr12, sorry about your previous loss. Several friends have had multiple MCs which really frightens me, but at the end of the day we would tell our parents either way if the worst were to happen for support so I guess why not!

Ideally I'd have another early scan at 11w ish but DH will think I'm mental if I suggest that 🙈

whitershadeofpale · 13/03/2021 18:03

I’m going to tell my mum tomorrow. I haven’t seen her in 6 months so it should be a nice Mother’s Day present. I told her when I had a miscarriage and she’s been fishing a bit since then to see if I’m pregnant again. I don’t want to lie to her but it’s getting hard to keep a secret!

DP wants to tell his parents in a few weeks when we’re celebrating his mum’s retirement. His sister is pregnant too and it will be lovely to have cousins close in age.

yellowspot · 13/03/2021 18:28

We're going to tell both our mums tomorrow. We told them both as soon as we found out with DS but decided to wait until our early scan this time.

Like many others if the worst were to happen I know I'd want both our mums for support. It really is a personal choice though and I completely understand why people wait. Well wait to tell wider family and friends until after the 12 week scan.

I'm so sorry for your loss @Cpr12 that must have been so incredibly tough xx

Cpr12 · 13/03/2021 18:58

@yellowspot thanks, it was a really tough time especially as my baby was totally fine, I developed an infection and was dying of sepsis so had to have him induced :( but I firmly believe everything happens for a reason and it got me through. That and some very awesome family and friends :) enjoy telling your parents tomorrow, such wonderful news to get to share on mothers day! xx

Garman · 13/03/2021 19:39

@Raggeo similar situation here but without the quick scan access! Bleeding in big gushes on Wednesday at 6+4, then it stopped, did the same Thursday, then stopped again. Even if I got an epu referral it'd be 3-4 days at least to wait, no private scans available until next Friday at the earliest. I have my first gp appointment next Friday at which she'll refer me to epu for the following week! So a long wait, not hopeful after mmc in December.

Garman · 13/03/2021 19:41

@Cpr12 I'm so sorry you had to go through that horrific experience x
