150mg aspirin from ovulation?

Hi everyone, I just got a BFP yesterday after 2 losses last year (yet to have my rainbow baby, hoping for third time lucky). I am a nlrm weight but have PCOS which I take metformin for. My mum had 4 mcs before having me.

Due to not being able to be referred yet as I haven’t had enough losses, I took matters into my own hands and started taking 150mg of aspirin at ovulation stage and am still taking it now. I haven’t had any bleeding so far or any negative symptoms.

I did my research and chatted to some friends who had recurrent miscarriage, I read articles and also threads on here where others had been advised to take 150mg of aspirin to help with implantation from ovulation, and then to continue right through to 36 weeks.

However I just wanted to double check if anyone else is doing this or has been told to? If I make it far enough in this pregnancy to have a booking appointment I’m fully prepared to be told off by the midwife for taking it without being told to by a medical practitioner... but after 2 losses it’s a risk I’m willing to take to be honest to do everything I can to prevent it this time.

There’s NHS articles online saying there’s no risk to mum or baby so I feel like there’s no harm, but I do feel a bit ‘naughty.’

If anyone has any experience of this or any advice I’d love to hear from you. I just really want this pregnancy to work out ❤️ Thanks

Another thought just popped into my mind.. might be going to get my second Covid jab this week.. anyone know how that affects taking the asprin or vice versa ?

@Slk3558 yeah I found them stressful too and they never seemed to be positive for me!

No issues with aspirin and the vaccine, you can continue taking it at the same time 😊 exciting that you’ll be getting your second jab! X

@Cafeaulait27 do you think the jab has any impact on implantation or anything like that ? Like if I were to get it after I ovulated for example, I know I’m probably having irrational thoughts here !!

Cafeaulait27 · 20/05/2021 13:39

@Slk3558 I wouldn’t expect so, there’s nothing in the vaccine that can affect fertility or pregnancy according to scientists. Totally up to you but I think it’d be fine 😊

Random question but just wondering if any of you ladies who had miscarriages and got BFPs with asprin also had a short leutal phase ? I.e 10 days or less..

I’ve had two early miscarriages and I’m trying to figure out whether it’s a progesterone deficiency or whether asprin would help? I have a short leutal phase of 10 days 11 on a good month.

@Slk3558 mine is 14-15 days on average xx

I have been recommended to take 150mg per day I am currently 4 weeks pregnant, I keep seeing so many others just taking 75mg and it’s got me worried on what to do. I have suffered 2 miscarriages so really hoping for our rainbow baby

I'm like you, 2 losses and now I'm third time pregnant within a year. I started taking 75mg aspirin from first positive test and have upped it to 150mg after reading more about it and hearing experiences on here. I'm also on progesterone this time. The progesterone was prescribed, but the aspirin wasn't.

I'm only 5+4 so can't tell whether it's working just yet.
