It’s a little early but thought it would be nice to have a thread for those of us due babies in October.

I’m due DC2 on the 9th (according to online calculator) and only found out yesterday.

Anyone want to join?!

Really feeling sad today. I’m 7+6. I started spotting a bit on Thursday, which I thought could have been due to being intimate with my partner the night before. I called 111 who got me a call back from GP who had a gynae call me and both GP and gynae said it sounded fine and normal because it was just spotting and I’m not in pain or dizzy/faint etc. I still have sore boobs and fatigue and crazy hunger but I also have slightly more cramp feelings.

It’s now Saturday morning though and I’m still spotting. It goes through the gamut of dark brown to pinkish to tiny bits of red and then back pinkish and brown over the day. Sometimes there’s nothing but more often, there’s something. It’s never period heavy. I really don’t know what to do. I have cervical ectropion so I think that may have something to do with it too but I just can’t stop feeling sad about it.

I’m in an awkward position as I moved house this month so my old GP is in London and I’m in a 4 week wait to register at my new GP due to Covid delays πŸ™„. I could get my partner to drive me back to my old GP I guess but I wouldn’t be having the baby down there so I don’t know what they do about referrals to an EPU.

I have thought of getting a reassurance scan but are they medical professionals? If they see something wrong can they help? Or are they just going to take my money and shrug if I ask anything?

MrsTD88 · 20/02/2021 11:23

@Katie1109 what time is your scan at? I would say try and relax but I would be a hypocrite... I was a wreck before mine on Wednesday too, woke up at 4am and couldn't get back to sleep for worrying. It's totally normal but please go as the unknown is so much worse!

MrsTD88 · 20/02/2021 11:25

@Ohnotagainsally haha, no harm in bringing it up at your first visit as different areas may have different protocols. It may be they will see you earlier.

MrsTD88 · 20/02/2021 11:28

@Expectant88 sorry you are feeling so stressed. From my own personal experience with private scans they have been great when things haven't been as expected and are usually sonographers who also work for the NHS. Do a little research for what is available in your area, their website should provide all relevant information. Can you self refer to EPU? My local one let's you call up and deal with them direct without the requirement for referral. Or could your local midwife service possibly assist?

Expectant88 · 20/02/2021 11:34

@MrsTD88 thank you for your response, honestly even just being able to air this is so helpful. Thank you for your suggestions, I’ll try EPU directly, I have self referred to them last week so hopefully they have my paperwork somewhere on file. You’re right that I could do some research and feel a bit less helpless! Thank you again, I really appreciate it.

Katie1109 · 20/02/2021 13:28

@MrsTD88 thanks for checking in x my scan was this morning and little bean is measuring bang on 8 weeks with a lovely strong heartbeat πŸ’“ we are so happy and relieved x after 2 losses it’s a great relief x

imisscoffee · 20/02/2021 14:08

Glad your scan went well @Katie1109

Definitely just ring EPU @Expectant88, even if you're not down to give birth there they'll still see you if you're in need. I was on the books for Darlington and Durham EPU last time as 111 sent me to Darlington even though I was booked to give birth in Durham.

Expectant88 · 20/02/2021 14:49

TW: bleeding and cramps

EPU is closed today apparently but my bleeding has become heavier and cramps worse so 111 have said a clinician will ring me back within the hour or if they’re unavailable someone will be sent to my house to check me out. Feels a bit dramatic to have someone attend the house and I’m worried about being a timewaster as there’s nothing much anyone can do if it is a miscarriage. Just feel so sad and tired.

Skymum82 · 20/02/2021 15:00

Hello guys, I’m heading to 9 weeks (I believe). I’m so nervous about a mmc, I wanted to book a private scan but to nervous too πŸ™ˆ. My first pregnancy was a mmc at 12 weeks and there was no signs at all.
I feel terrible and very sick πŸ™ˆ, this is very much a suprise and if all goes well will be child number 4 and my last πŸ˜‚. I really do feel awful and just so worried I’m feeling this terrible for no reason 😒.
Hope everyone else is going well. Sorry to read a few of you have lost your babies, it’s devastating and I’m thinking of you.

imisscoffee · 20/02/2021 18:12

Thinking of you @Expectant88, so sorry to read your update. I hope they don't keep you waiting long x

MrsTD88 · 20/02/2021 18:44

@Katie1109 that's amazing news, so happy for you!

MrsTD88 · 20/02/2021 18:47

@Expectant88 so sorry to hear your bleeding has got worse. I really hope you get some answers soon

HotCupOfNo · 21/02/2021 18:11

Thinking of you @Expectant88 ❀️❀️❀️

PumpkinEverything · 21/02/2021 19:12

So pleased all went well with your scan @Katie1109 😊 sure it was such a relief to see the heartbeat.
I’m so so nervous about mine on Tuesday, feeling the same way you did and almost don’t want to go and convincing myself there’s going to be nothing there!

HotCupOfNo · 21/02/2021 19:15

@Katie1109 such lovely news πŸ₯°

jonrik · 21/02/2021 20:07

Hi ladies, so I'm 5+4 today (exactly, I had IVF) and I've just taken a clearblue digital and it should say 3+ but only showed 2-3 weeks. Now I'm a bit concerned that my hcg levels aren't high enough.
I feel I shouldn't have taken it but it's too late now. I tried to get reassurance that everything is progressing well but now I feel the opposite of reassured.
How accurate are those really? Confused

dominiquebkxox · 21/02/2021 22:32

I’m 8 weeks now and it hasn’t really subsided. 😩

@gln1989 It helps laying down! So you can imagine i’m in bed most days with my laptop on me so i can work. I’m very tired and drained, like yourself.

Have you found anything that works?

HotCupOfNo · 22/02/2021 16:31

@jonrik I am 5+2 today and got a 2-3 weeks yesterday! My friend got 3+at 18dpo. Everyone's HCG level is totally different!

HotCupOfNo · 22/02/2021 16:32

Does anyone know if there's a Facebook group we can join? Xx

jonrik · 22/02/2021 18:19

Thanks @HotCupOfNo, I'm glad I'm not alone. I did end up messaging my clinic and they said exactly what you said but for my peace of mind are bringing my scan forward a few days so I'll have one a week on Saturday at 7 weeks. I know it's silly getting all worked up about it but sometimes you can't help yourself!

HotCupOfNo · 22/02/2021 18:21

Absolutely @jonrik ❀️ it's such a long wait and it feels there is so much at stake xx

yellowspot · 22/02/2021 20:15

@HotCupOfNo there is a Facebook group, I believe you need to message @PumpkinEverything and she'll add you 😊

PumpkinEverything · 22/02/2021 20:18

Thanks @yellowspot 😊 yep, anyone who wants to join send me a PM with your email address that’s linked to your FB account and I’ll get the invite sent!

33Carr · 22/02/2021 21:22
