It’s a little early but thought it would be nice to have a thread for those of us due babies in October.

I’m due DC2 on the 9th (according to online calculator) and only found out yesterday.

Anyone want to join?!

I’ve still got another 2 weeks to go before my midwife appointment. Frustrated now and feels like a lifetime to wait! The tiredness is so much worse this time round- though not sure if that’s also because of having DS. All I want to do is sleep

ED81 · 16/02/2021 17:11

Hi all,

I just had my positive result yesterday. I'm due 21st October - according to an online calculator at least! I'm scared all hell. Confused
At what stage did you contact the GP practice about seeing the midwife? This is my first pregnancy and I'm 39 years old! Yikes.

EveryClaud · 16/02/2021 21:07

Anyone else getting food aversions yet? I'm 6+3, tried to make dinner this evening and just looking at meat made me feel sick. I can't think about it, see it or touch it! I had been doing well so far so thought I'd be one of the lucky few that didn't get any sickness...looks like I was wrong there. ☹️

EveryClaud · 16/02/2021 21:12

@ED81 Congrats! I called my GP right away but they didn't actually do much. I had to complete a self referral form via the hospital that I wanted to register with (C&W). I then got a letter from the hospital confirming my first midwife appointment. Hope that helps!

TheFamousMrEd · 17/02/2021 06:15

I’ve been feeling awful, with constant nausea but today I’ve woken up feeling completely fine. No symptoms at all.

Should I be worried?!

Katie1109 · 17/02/2021 08:44

@TheFamousMrEd how far along are you? I'm about 7+4/5 and to be fair I feel quite energetic and had no nausea or sickness at all so far. Only some sore boobs and having to get up for a wee at night. Boobs soreness comes at goes at times, so maybe its just that? I wouldn't worry just yet. Maybe book an early private scan for reassurance? I have one this weekend. I had an MMC last year and trust me when I say symptoms or lack of them is not necessarily a sign of how well pregnancy is progressing, I felt much worse symptoms wise on the morning of being diagnosed MMC x fingers crossed all is ok x

PumpkinEverything · 17/02/2021 08:52

Good to know that @Katie1109 ! The way you are describing is how I felt when I was pregnant with my MMC, more energy than before, no aversions or cravings and no sickness, just sore boobs! But then I’ve seen people with the same lack of symptoms as that on here go on to have healthy babies. Seems to just be so different for everyone and every pregnancy.

TheFamousMrEd · 17/02/2021 08:57

@Katie1109 thanks for the reply. I’m only 6+2, but have felt shattered and nauseous since the end of week 4 so it’s just a bit of a change!

I did manage to have a cuppa for the first time in weeks though which was lovely.

Will see how I get on over the next few days and think about a private scan.

Katie1109 · 17/02/2021 09:00

@PumpkinEverything when I was pregnant and had MMC I was absolutely floored with tiredness! Now I'm completely opposite - so I don't think there is a connection between symptoms and viability x at least this is how I try to reason with my own brain when I start feeling very negative. The only thing that is definitely different this time around is that I had no spotting at all. With my MMC I had both brown and pink discharge on couple of occasions around 6 weeks mark, but nothing with this one so far !

Katie1109 · 17/02/2021 09:02

@TheFamousMrEd from what I have read and experience you hormone levels peak at around 8-9 weeks, but they do fluctuate from one day to another so I believe symptoms can come and go and it doesn't necessarily mean anything bad x fingers crossed for you, keep us posted x

PumpkinEverything · 17/02/2021 09:05

I had no discharge or spotting at all with my MMC, there really was barely any sign of it other than my boobs not being sore anymore (which I hadn’t even noticed until I thought about it later). Fingers crossed for healthy babies for both of us this time 🀞🏻 I’ve a private scan next Tuesday and it feels like forever away!

HotCupOfNo · 17/02/2021 12:17

Hello everyone, hope it's ok if I join ☺️, 4+4 with my second baby. I'll be 33 when I have this one. I have a 22 month old daughter.

My boobs are taking over my body and I've got such bad ligament pain!

DappledOliveGroves · 17/02/2021 14:39

@PumpkinEverything my early scan is booked for Tuesday too. I'm currently driving myself mad with anxiety over what's going on and if things are ok. What time is your scan?

PumpkinEverything · 17/02/2021 14:43

I’m booked for 10am @DappledOliveGroves I wanted in as early as possible so that I’m less anxious during the day! What about you?

Leonberger · 17/02/2021 14:52

@PumpkinEverything and @DappledOliveGroves how many weeks will you both be at your private scan?
I’ve booked mine for 7+4. Not sure if that’s too early though!

PumpkinEverything · 17/02/2021 15:01

@Leonberger I’ll be 7+1 so I’m hoping I’ll be okay! You’re supposed to be able to see a heartbeat from around 6 weeks so I’ve given it an extra few days incase my dates are wrong

DappledOliveGroves · 17/02/2021 15:09

@PumpkinEverything @Leonberger my scan is after work - I think 6.15pm. I'll be 6+3 then. I had a scan for my last pregnancy at 6+3 at the EPU last year and there was a heartbeat then (albeit it ended in MMC a few weeks later) so I'm hoping that a heartbeat - if there is one - should be visible at the same gestation for this pregnancy?

PumpkinEverything · 17/02/2021 15:25

I was the same @DappledOliveGroves I had a scan in November when I should have been 7 weeks, but I measured at 6+2 with a heartbeat, I lost that baby two weeks later like you did. So I can imagine if you and I both seen a heartbeat at that time you should be fine this time as long as your dates are accurate 😊

Katie1109 · 17/02/2021 15:29

I have a scan this weekend and I should be around 8 weeks mark give or take 1-2 days x

mummyjonsey · 17/02/2021 16:00

Hi mamas, hoping I can join in! I’m due my 2nd baby on October 14th which is also my birthday! πŸ₯° So glad to have found a thread for October babies xx

Katie1109 · 18/02/2021 07:54

Morning ladies x
How is everyone doing this morning? I’ve got my scan this weekend, should be around 8 weeks mark and I am absolutely terrified of another MMC 😩 any ladies here around the same week and experienced no nausea at all so far? Most of the time I don’t even feel pregnant. My boobs are slightly sore, couple of spots appeared on my face which isn’t unusual for me anyway and also couple of things smell differently to me atm - but that’s it symptoms wise 😩 I need to get up for a wee at night but that’s probably more because I drink plenty in the evenings, rather than a symptom. I’m just so scared 😩 sorry for a rant, just looking for some reassurance I guess!

gln1989 · 18/02/2021 15:14

Ladies i am after some advice. I am currently 6+3

So I went in for what was supposed to be a scan yesterday but turned out to be an examination by the doctor and a urine sample as well as bloods.

They called me last night to say that my HCG levels were 97,685 which she said was really high. They have booked me in for a scan on Monday.

I have had some aches on the left side but the doctor was confident from having a feel around that it was not an ectopic.

Is it a good thing my levels are so high this early? This might sound like a stupid question but this is my first pregnant so i am not sure what is normal and what is not.

Thanks all 😊

PumpkinEverything · 18/02/2021 15:40

@Katie1109 I’m just behind you, at 6+3 and my symptoms are pretty much the same as yours. Also a few random cramps/pulling/fullness feeling. I’ve had the mildest moments of nausea but not really much, and to be honest, most of my symptoms I feel like I can come up with an excuse as to why I’ve got that. Eg, my skin is bad because I’m eating too much chocolate!
I’m terrified of another MMC as well as I’d no signs of it last timeπŸ˜” just wish there was a way of checking so we knew

Katie1109 · 18/02/2021 15:47

@PumpkinEverything I know I wish I could just have a look inside and see what going on 🀣🀣 I guess I’ve got only 2 more days to wait for my scan. I’ll be 8+1 by LMP then but I ovulated CD16 so I think I’ll be more like 7+6. I felt a bit tired today but I think it may be because I haven’t slept very well last night - too worried!
@gln1989 sorry to hear you having a bit of a worry. I think those levels are indeed on the high side, but the range is so big I’m not sure of anything anymore. I had mine done at the same time as you and they were just over 13,000, my midwife said that’s normal but I think they’re low, but hey god knows. Everyone is different! Is there twins running in your family? I believe hcg in twin pregnancies is much higher than singletons. I hope all goes well for you on Monday x

gln1989 · 18/02/2021 15:52

@Katie1109 I am keeping everything crossed that it is all ok. My aunt was a midwife for 40 years and has told me that they are high but it is could just be a sign of a healthy pregnancy. She also suggested that i could be further along than I thought or there is multiples in there. I have had no bleeding or bad cramping so i hope everything is ok.

We don't have twins in our family so I am nervous and obviously the worse thing to do is google anything 😒
