It’s a little early but thought it would be nice to have a thread for those of us due babies in October.

I’m due DC2 on the 9th (according to online calculator) and only found out yesterday.

Anyone want to join?!

It’s the worst waiting game @Katie1109 😭 at least you have only two days to go, and it’s good that you are mentally prepared for being a bit earlier than expected so if they say that it doesn’t worry you.

Smilymami · 18/02/2021 22:54

@Katie1109 goodluck for your scan

Katie1109 · 19/02/2021 07:23

@Smilymami thank you x it’s this weekend x I will keep you all posted x

Leonberger · 19/02/2021 08:39

To those of you who have sickness etc, is it the same every day or are some days bad and some days fine Confused

mannie87 · 19/02/2021 08:40

Hi, Im new on here! Im due 18/10/2021. This isnt my first, I already have 2 boys. 15 & 7. X

mannie87 · 19/02/2021 08:48

I am 5+4 i have been having mild intermittent cramping for nearly a week, i dont remember having any cramping in my previous pregnancies. Is anyone else experiencing this. Im so worried as i had a miscarriage a few years ago. I have a scan booked for next Thursday in the EPU but it seems so long away!!

PumpkinEverything · 19/02/2021 09:33

I’ve had cramps on and off since I found out @mannie87 and I’m 6+4 today. I had a MMC in December so have been worried about it too, but apparently it’s normal!

HotCupOfNo · 19/02/2021 09:38

So jealous of you ladies further along than me!! It's like torture!! 4+6 today. My symptoms are really ebbing and flowing, one minute I've got them all and today I've got hardly any. Going to book a private scan for 8 weeks

HotCupOfNo · 19/02/2021 09:39

Is anyone else considering an elective c section? My last daughter was emcs and it was a very traumatic birth

Nineteen88 · 19/02/2021 09:48

Hi all- well Jeeze Louise I can’t even begin to explain the last few days. All I will say is- if you have any form of bleeding then please just go straight to the health care professionals at an early pregnancy unit as I have just got home after emergency surgery for an ectopic pregnancy!!

I can’t even begin to explain the pain!

So if anyone has any bleeding please just go to an early pregnancy unit.

I’m now resting and recovering.

I’ll come out of this thread now as to be honest I have most definitely been royally put off for trying for the next two months πŸ˜‚

So all you gorgeous preggies- I’m wishing you all a happy and healthy pregnancy! Also to whoever wrote about not worrying in the above- I thought that was amazing! Honestly please don’t burden yourselves with worrying- just go get support from the people that know all at the early pregnancy unit.

To all the people who have sadly lost- I’m wishing you all a speedy recovery packed full of self love and healing.

Xxx

Hi everyone,
I'm 5 weeks pregnant. It was planned. And now I'm very unsure if I want this. I can't stop crying about it today. I don't know if I can go through with this.
I'm so sorry is this is a grim post. It's not meant to cause any offence to anyone. I realise some of you will have tried so hard to be pregnant and here I am moaning.

I'm so devastated with my thoughts surrounding this. Never in a million years would I think this would be the case.

What to do now?

Katie1109 · 19/02/2021 11:53

@ED81 even if pregnancy is wanted and tried for when it actually happens at times it is met with mixed feelings. Let’s face it, it is a scary thing. It will most certainly turn your life up side down but it’s going to be worth it, I promise you that. Take each day as it comes, try to look at positive side - there is a little baby growing inside you!
Do you know why you are so worried now? Is it finances? Work? Or are you scared of the whole pregnancy process and labour? Because if it is the last one, we are all scared to certain degree, just need to remind yourself your body is made to go through this! X stay kind to yourself and don’t make any rush decisions x give it some time to sink in x

ED81 · 19/02/2021 12:07

Thanks @Katie1109 for your reply. It means a lot. I realise my comments will be difficult for some to read and understand.
I’m scared of everything. The pregnancy, the birth, the childcare, the impact on our lives, not being able to retire as early, I don’t like kids all that much sometimes. I’m 39 and we decided to try before it was too late. Kinda think my head forced myself into this due to my age. I wasn’t broody. We have always been ambivalent about a baby but like I say didn’t want the window to close before we even tried....

What have I done.

MrsTD88 · 19/02/2021 12:57

@HotCupOfNo I am considering elective section too. I ended up having an emergency section after failed induction first time round. I was so knackered after days of induced labour and lack of progression... daughter was born bang on 42 weeks. It meant about 4 weeks of unnecessary mat leave too! Would be very keen to avoid that this time round and feel more in control.

MrsTD88 · 19/02/2021 13:06

@Nineteen88 I am so sorry you had to go through that. You are right to take some time to recover physically and emotionally. I agree to trust your instincts and pick up the phone if worried at all. I had an ectopic last year and was lucky enough to avoid surgery, I had the methotrexate injection. EPU/EPAS were amazing and were always happy to give advice. Take care of yourself ❀

imisscoffee · 19/02/2021 14:11

Sending lots of love @Nineteen88, wishing you a speedy recovery x

Leonberger · 19/02/2021 14:53

So sorry @Nineteen88, hoping you recover quickly Sad

Steloubub · 19/02/2021 16:20

@Nineteen88 so so sorry for what you have been through sending big hugs and hope your recovery is speedy ❀️

@Leonberger I felt nauseous on and off from around 5 and half weeks until 7 weeks then last weekend I was so unwell constantly being sick and slept so so much through feeling so drained (I was struggling to even keep sips of water down) the lasted for 4 days and now I have gone back to just on and off nausea and only being wick first thing in the morning. I have a private scan booked for Sunday when I should be around 8+1 really hoping all is ok. I still have barely any appetite the thought of most things make me gag but ginger nut biscuits and mints seem to help the nausea.

@ED81 this little one is a complete shock to me and OH we have two DDs aged 8 and almost 6 and this baby wasn’t planned or intentionally tried for so when we got that positive result I was really unsure how to feel. I had days for the first week where I questioned if this was the right thing and worried about anything and everything that is yet to come. I had my daughters in my early 20s and now me and OH are 30 I feel like we are staring from square one all over again. Hormones will be crazy while pregnant anyway but I completely understand your feelings and ultimately it will be your decision but please please don’t rush to make that choice to later regret it. I have managed to come to terms with it all now and I am hoping things progress as they should and look forward to extending my little family but I went backwards and forwards in my own head as to whether or not to continue with the pregnancy for the first week which I think is very normal.

Rb486 · 19/02/2021 19:30

Hello ladies,

Can I join? I’m 5+1 with my second pregnancy. My first ended in MMC @ 12+4 weeks. Found out at my scan. I have no symptoms as of yet, just bloating. I’m very anxious about what’s to come- midwife has booked me in for a 7 week scan so I’m so grateful. Just taking it day by day but should (fingers crossed) be due 21/10. My last baby would have also been due in October so I’m hoping that is a bit of a sign πŸͺ§ and my rainbow should be here in October!

Let’s hope we have lots of beautiful fall babies πŸ‘ΆπŸΌ

HotCupOfNo · 19/02/2021 23:20

@MrsTD88 emcs after failed induction here too at 38+5 due to a massive bleed at 37+6. I suppose we bring it up at our first midwives appt!! Not looking forward to the recovery but think I need to feel more in control this time

HotCupOfNo · 19/02/2021 23:29

@ED81 when I fell pregnant with my daughter, even though we had tried for a while, I was an utter mess. I thought for sure I'd have to have a termination - I spent the first week in bed just crying and I told my best friends not to get excited because I didn't know if I wanted it anymore. It was all too much too soon and I felt like I was on a train going in one direction and I couldn't get off. I took it very slowly, day by day, and I stopped overwhelming myself with the apps saying how far along I was etc etc. And I gave myself some headspace. Gradually I got more and more used to it and by the time I was 14 weeks I was so excited about it all and obviously now I think she's the best thing that ever happened to me.

Try and remember that you are in this moment now and you will only ever have to deal with anything bit by bit - you're not going to suddenly have a baby tomorrow! But please trust me when I say I understand the utter terror and fear that you've made a huge mistake, and it's much more normal than you realise! Xx

Katie1109 · 20/02/2021 08:47

8 weeks scan today, I feel absolutely terrified 😩 I just feel like they’ll tell me there’s nothing in there at all. I’m almost too scared to go 😒

MrsTD88 · 20/02/2021 09:05

@HotCupOfNo that sounds very traumatic. When I had my booking appointment the midwife mentioned that because of previous labour it will be a mix of consultant and midwife led care. My notes say if I want an elective section to be referred to see consultant after 20 week scan. It also mentions consultant referral if unsure. I will see midwife again at 16 weeks for heartbeat etc so aim to discuss it further with her then

Ohnotagainsally · 20/02/2021 09:09

Ahh ok @MrsTD88 I'll chill out then. I'm a bit of a 'planner' and want to book it now πŸ˜‚

Ohnotagainsally · 20/02/2021 09:10

Sorry to hear about your mmc @Rb486, I can't imagine it and how stressed you must feel this time round. So glad to hear you have an early scan! I'm so bloated I put some
Maternity joggers on yesterday and I'm only just 5 weeks today
