Thought we could continue on here? Unless someone has made a different one.

Has anyone not got the flu Jan yet? I'm undecided whether to get it as I don't really get flus

gigi556 · 02/02/2021 17:53

@Hopefulmummie the flu jab? I normally get it but forgot this season. I didn't get it until later in my first pregnancy but can't remember when, I'm sure the midwife helped arrange it

duchessrose · 02/02/2021 18:40

@Hopefulmummie I got the flu jab back in September. I had it with my previous pregnancies as well even though I've never had flu before. There is very little flu around this year though so not a big risk of getting it.

I've been very bloated for a while - most of my non-elastic trousers are uncomfortably tight. I bought some maternity jeans and trousers but I didn't want to start wearing them this early (8 weeks).

FTEngineerM · 02/02/2021 19:50

@Scotti84 ah! That’s why you had lots of snowGrin I was mightily jealous when I read that

@bewitchingnight I’m with you there, I’ve been lazing around the house looks horrendous but no energy. It can wait until the second trimester hah. We should feel better then.

That’s so lush you’re getting bumps already, it’s so nice being able to see why you’re feeling nauseous, tired or w/e.

I’m feeling like a right plonker, just fell down the entire flight of stairs. Cue worry central, hopefully my butt was cushion enough.

@Hopefulmummie I had it last time when I was 17 weeks at Christmas, I don’t think I’ll be offered this time because we’re pregnant over summer?

I'm 7 + 4 and spoke to my GP last week for my referral to the midwife. Curious to know from those who have had their booking appointments how long it took to come through and when they had it. I know it's meant to be around 8-10 weeks. Think I had mine closer to 10 in my last pregnancy. Just desperate to get the date in the diary.

I'm feeling really good other than being tired. I've had a few waves of nausea but nothing terrible. Hopefully I've just got lucky this time around and all is well. I feel like I'm just waiting...

primhutch · 02/02/2021 22:39

I had my booking in telephone appointment about 3 weeks ago and went for my face to face last Tuesday (was about 8+4), they told me to get booked in for flu jab so have booked to go to boots this week. Xx

jellybean13419 · 03/02/2021 09:35

I'm 6 + 1 and have my telephone appointment with midwife on 25th Feb, will be about 9 weeks then. What I find hard is that it hasn't been confirmed, my over anxious head keeps saying the tests are wrong and there won't be anything there. Why does the first trimester feel like a lifetime ladies 😂

FTEngineerM · 03/02/2021 09:53

@jellybean13419 25th with be here in no time. The pregnancy test is confirming it, I took about 12 I think and it still only felt real after seeing the tiny heartbeat even though I have other symptomsSmile.

If it makes you feel better, take another test?

gigi556 · 03/02/2021 10:17

@jellybean13419 it does feel like an eternity! Tbf, the last trimester drags too 😂😂 I went over 41 weeks with my son. 10 months pregnant is a long time!

I think the first trimester drags because it does feel like ages to the 12 week scan to confirm viability. I'd just like to get an actual date for booking appointment so I can put it in the diary. Same with the 12 week scan!

JenniferWaul · 03/02/2021 11:01

Can i join pleaseee 🥳
Congratulations everyone 😊
I think im 7+5. I have my midwife telephone appointment on Friday.
I have zero symptoms though, which is worrying me! Ive already got 2 children and them pregnancy's were quite easy tbf so im hoping this ones the same but I literally dont feel pregnant one bit, was super tired last week and little bit nauseous now nothing at all??

How is everyone feeling xx

itssquidstella · 03/02/2021 11:10

Hi @JenniferWaul! I'm 7+3 today and don't really feel pregnant! It's worrying me as I had two MC last year, so I've got a scan booked for Friday. I’ve had sore boobs which have faded now, and have felt tired and needed to wee more, but no real nausea or anything.

Scotti84 · 03/02/2021 11:16

So here’s a lovely one I wasn’t expecting but after looking at a few apps seems pretty common... anyone got/had haemorroids? Pretty sure I have, was shocked as hell at first but am a bit more settled now I’ve seen it’s pretty common... it’s just so disgusting 😂🤢

They will go away... right?

MrsTD88 · 03/02/2021 11:42

I had my early scan at EPAS this morning, left with more questions that answers. Thankfully there is a sac in the right place so not ectopic like previous pregnancy. The sac measures just under 6 weeks and yolk sac could be seen, no fetal pole yet though. This does not concern me too much at the moment as the same happened with my daughter and on the follow up scan there was a strong heartbeat so just have to wait it out for 2 weeks and hope for the best. However the sonographer noted another smaller sac on the scan, she menitoned it could be another pregnancy which has failed to develop. Has anyone experienced this before? I have read about vanishing twin syndrome and wonder if this may be the case here... it could also explain why I tested positive so early as HCG is higher in multiple pregnancy. Any thoughts? Not quite sure how I will be able to wait it out for two weeks now!

Equimum · 03/02/2021 15:18

MrsTD88 I’ve not experienced this personally, but a friend had an early scan that showed two sacs, however, at her 12 week scan, there was only one baby. She was told it was vanishing twin syndrome and apparently quite common (although lots of people never know).

Scotti84 I have them with my last pregnancy. I hope they clear up for you soon. (I also had recurrent thrush, which I am also hoping to avoid this time round).

Scotti84 · 03/02/2021 15:48

@MrsTD88 at my first early scan the dr said he could maybe see two but wouldn’t be able to tell for sure until the next scan at 8 weeks, then there was only one. Not sure if there was another one or it just looked that way on the scan though.

@Equimum nobody tells us these delightful things do they? I mean it’s not like there’s enough going on down there without every delightful other thing cropping up too 🤦🏻‍♀️ Did yours clear up on their own?

MrsTD88 · 03/02/2021 15:55

@Equimum @Scotti84 thank you for your replies. It's not something I've come across before. I really didn't want an early scan because I feel they can cause more upset sometimes but when I was organising my booking appointment they insisted because of previous issues. Glad it isn't ectopic but wishing the next two weeks away now!

jellybean13419 · 03/02/2021 17:29

@gigi556 bless you! Over 41 weeks must have made you so impatient to meet baby! My best friend just gave birth yesterday at 41 weeks and was just like that towards the end!
@JenniferWaul hello and congratulations! Let us know how your telephone appt goes on Friday. I'm basically with you on the zero symptoms apart from the bloat! It's interesting hearing how different every pregnancy is!
@FTEngineerM it's definitely just one of these situations where you want something so much you're just super scared it will go wrong. How are you feeling today?

Scotti84 · 03/02/2021 18:40

@MrsTD88 it’s all so worrying isn’t it? This is my first and as I’m older (36) it’s been a case of counting the days between appointments. I know that things will be as they will be, what I can control I do like caffeine etc, but i think pregnancy is just a whole heap of worry! I’m 10 weeks today and have 2 and a bit weeks til my next scan and it can’t come fast enough!

MrsTD88 · 03/02/2021 18:55

@Scotti84 Absolutely, you worry right up until the birth and then a whole new worry comes along, my daughter is almost 5 and I still check she is breathing ok before I go to bed! It's a good mindset to have, controlling what you can. How exciting you are so close to the second trimester! What date is your scan? I am back on 17th, hoping for a strong healthy heartbeat by then 🤞🏻🤞🏻

Hopefulmummie · 03/02/2021 20:07

@mamabearwhere @bewitchingnight thank you for the recommendations of the sickness bands. Got them yesterday and today has been the 1st in a week I've been able to eat 3 proper meals I'm delighted :) still felt a bit nauseas this morning but not as bad.

For anyone experiencing nausea I would definitely recommend getting them

Scotti84 · 03/02/2021 21:24

@MrsTD88 I’m back on the 22nd, I’ll be 12+3 then I think so should start feeling very real with a bit more detail on the scan! Booked this appt for 4pm too, the rest were in the morning and it was a nightmare getting up and ready so early. 10ams my get up time atm 🤦🏻‍♀️

duchessrose · 03/02/2021 23:05

@Scotti84 I had haemorroids with my first pg, but not with my second. Hoping to avoid them this time around! I didn't use anything to treat them and they cleared up after the birth thankfully.

My sleep cycle is terrible at the moment. I'm trying to go to bed at a reasonable hour but the past couple of nights I've been waking at 4.30am/5am and found it impossible to get back to sleep.

Sophiederuges · 04/02/2021 05:25

@duchessrose I can't sleep either. Actually I fall asleep easily but I can't stay asleep past 3/4am. I'm exhausted.

Sophiederuges · 04/02/2021 05:32

@Scotti84 I do believe as well that it's partly age related. When I found out I was pregnant with my first, I was 30 and completely carefree. It never occurred to me things could go wrong. I wish I had bottled that mindset to use now!
