Great news @Unicorn9. Ikwym but a great first step xx

LRL12 · 21/01/2021 16:45

Great news @Unicorn9 & @Whyisthistakingsolong ❤️❤️

Tinpo · 21/01/2021 16:53

Lovely news @Whyisthistakingsolong and @Unicorn9 ❤️

I’m getting impatient waiting for ovulation now!! I have it in my head that I’ll get pregnant this month so it’s very likely I’m going to end up disappointed. I’m trying to talk myself into being realistic but I just can’t help it.

Unicorn9 · 21/01/2021 16:58

Thank u everyone for your kind messages.

Tinpo, I think it’s good to be hopeful. You can’t control anything really but hopeful is always good in my books... albeit hard to achieve sometimes!

Marabouchoc · 22/01/2021 06:57

Well ladies today is my first day of letrozole and first cycle of superovulation...I feel nervous! Is there anything I should/shouldn’t be doing? Do you have any tips? Thank you xxx

Whyisthistakingsolong · 22/01/2021 07:01

Thanks @Tinpo I have been like that nearly every month too. Why don't you set the earliest date you can do a test and really try not to think about it until then. I did a bit of CBT for all the mcs and I was told to steer yourswlf from those kind of what if/am I thoughts by saying to yourself, is this helpful, am I being kind to myself. It helped me stop circling the thoughts so much.

Thanks too @LRL12

@marabouchoc I didn't do SO but imagine relax and DTD close to ovulation??

Hazlet2 · 22/01/2021 07:59

Hey ladies, I haven't been on here for a while as was taking a bit of a break over Christmas and drinking all the wine! I've woken up this morning and got a positive test, am in complete shock as totally thought we were out yet again. Last pregnancy was nearly a year ago and I'd got so used to being disappointed. Now all the anxiety has come rushing back and I'm feeling completely overwhelmed! Husband is so happy but I'm pretty scared. I'm on Humira and with the ARGC clinic in London so I guess I should ring them today and see what else they will do for me. I think it'll be intralipids as I haven't even had the test to see if the humira has brought my TNF Alpha levels down yet. Basically I'm bricking it and thought this was the best place to download my fears! 🤯

Congrats @Unicorn9 and @Whyisthistakingsolong - such good news about your scans. Hope everyone's doing ok xx

Hazlet2 · 22/01/2021 08:08

I've been exactly the same @Tinpo - completely get you with the waiting and feeling like you'll be disappointed. Agree with @Whyisthistakingsolong about cbt and trying to reframe your thoughts. I've just recently downloaded a cbt app from work and it's already proving quite useful after one short session Xx

NICK7nick7 · 22/01/2021 18:38

@Hazlet2 gentle congratulations! Completely understandable that you would feel anxious. I have heard great things about ARGC so trust that they know what they’re doing and that you’re trying something different this time so there is every chance it will lead to a different outcome.

I’m a CBT Therapist by profession and definitely agree that it’s helpful for anxiety. Looking at your ‘positive beliefs of worry’ can be helpful too as they tend to fuel the worry. An example of a positive belief of worry might be “worrying will help to prevent something bad from happening” or “worrying helps me to prepare if the worse happens” and practice challenging whether that’s actually true - you can think about past examples in your life to help. For example, worrying about coronavirus wouldn’t have stopped it from happening. I can take certain actions to help myself not get coronavirus, such as, hand washing but then I have learn to sit with the uncertainty that I could still get it and worrying about it isn’t going to change that outcome for me.

Mindfulness meditation is also really good for anxiety as it teaches you to notice thoughts but learn not the engage in them, which is helpful since engaging in them leads to more anxiety or catastrophising as the thoughts are coming from an anxious place so only ‘what if’ worse case scenarios.

I’ve found using positive affirmations really helpful before I go for a scan, such as “I am keeping this baby” so that may help too. Xx

Hazlet2 · 24/01/2021 10:10

Thank you @NICK7nick7 that's really helpful 😊 Has anyone tried the 'Expectful' app - it's American but the only one I've found for fertility / pregnancy mindfulness that seems to have good reviews.

I've been prescribed progesterone, clexane and dexamethasone (a steroid) until they have more info from blood tests. Then they may put me on pred/intralipids/IVIG etc from next week. So many drugs and things to think about 😑

Wanted to ask if anyone has had dexamethasone before? I think most of you are on pred or hydroxy. They've given me a tiny dose to start with. And has anyone had their progesterone levels drop in early pregnancy? My hcg was ok but progesterone dropped from 180 down to 90 over a day. I'm only 4+2 so really early days. Not sure if that is worrying or not but I am on progesterone now so hope that helps.
Hope everyone's had a good weekend xx

Hi ladies I've searched for ages on here to get the il to date thread .. I've had 9 miscarriages now one after the other it's really taken its toll I've looked into testing as all nhs ones came back normal I'm 38 I don't think I can afford the testing has anyone just taken predisnone without being actually prescribed it as I'm so tempted as feel anything is worth a try 😩
tinkerbell999 · 25/01/2021 01:05

Thankyou

Daffodil21 · 25/01/2021 07:34

@tinkerbell999 I'm so sorry to hear of your 9 MCs, that must be so hard.

Prednisolone is a prescribed drug, so I think you'll struggle to get it without a prescription. However, I am currently taking it and I haven't had any of the testing. I'll PM you details of the doc who prescribed it to me later this morning. It was £150 for the app, plus the meds, but pred is a cheap drug, something like £7 a box I think. In the end my NHS consultant agreed to prescribe me the pred and progesterone so now I don't even have to pay. I'm currently 11 weeks today and convinced the pred is responsible for me getting this far x

Hi Thankyou yes I got to about 8/9 weeks with the first one and since then I get a positive and then I lose it around 5 week mark I have under active thyroid but it's managed with meds and I believe last time was tested it was within the range it should be for pregnancy however I feel like there must be something else and this is the only thing I haven't been tested for but looking at the prices and how far away the testing clinics are I'm not sure it's a option for me I don't know how to get on to personal messages lovely ? X
