Aww congratulations @Starfish762 ❤️❤️❤️

@JennyMY yes I noticed that, I had the button to press if I felt movement but then sometimes I could hear movement on the machine but I hadn't felt it. They had to press and hold the monitor down on my belly as baby's heartbeat was hard to find otherwise. Mines always the naughty one😂

Sorry I've been quiet, I slept most of yesterday away when not online teaching as I think going hosp really wore me out as got myself so worked up. Much more movement yesterday thank goodness! I pretty much have heartburn 24/7 now. The hospital also measured my bump and plotted my first x on my chart, I don't know what it means but I think it's fine.

We have our doors, skirting and architrave now for nursery, and dh should be finishing the plastering today 😊 I'm heading shopping whilst he's busy and planning to buy maternity pads/breast pads and nipple cream, I would also like a bath temp thermometer too. Got my breastfeeding course Sunday and the nursery furniture is due for delivery. Got my cute print framed for shelf in nursery so will attach photo ❤️

Hope you are all well and have a great weekend. X

@starfish Aww yay another girl!

My sickness is every morning, I take a tablet when I wake up but I'm sick before it starts to work, and when I'm sick it's like I lose Control of my bladder and wee too. 🙈 The joys!

I'll take a picture of my growth chart soon. I've never actually had my fundal height measured, I've never seen a midwife just a Consultant so mine are plotted off my 2 growth scans

DanceM1 · 16/01/2021 14:55

Oh @ew1990 poor you!! At least baby will be here soon but I bet its feeling like a long time off!

@Starfish762 congrats! Thats really lovely 🥰 I once taught a really lovely Felix haha.. curse of being a teacher is associating names with children you've taught but children can make you like the names much more as well!

ew1990 · 16/01/2021 15:24

Here's my growth chart. DD was born on the 20th centile and she was 6lb 7 which is an average weight I think

I finally bought some stuff for the baby ... I've been feeling guilty all I had got her was a hat and cardie and everything else would be a hand-me-down 😬
It all feels very real and exciting suddenly 🥰😱

JoJo58995 · 16/01/2021 17:57

@DanceM1 I have this issue with being a vet, I associate a lot of names with my patients so DH and I struggle to agree on any names! 🤦‍♀️

JoJo58995 · 16/01/2021 17:59

@Smilingdonkey they're so cute 🥰🥰 I've said we need to get some bits too as most things so far have been given to us (and are gorgeous and in fab condition) but she needs some new bits that we get her ourselves....

Starfish762 · 16/01/2021 18:39

@Smilingdonkey oh they’re beautiful, LOVE the cardy 💚

@DanceM1 @JoJo58995 must be SO hard in both your jobs. Lots of modern names are common pet names too!

Has anyone decided on names? Or have a shortlist? Having another girl makes names a lot easier at least, I find boys SO hard!

RosieJess91 · 16/01/2021 19:37

@starfish762 we know our boy will be Harry!

Finally finished with the nursery, other than putting the stickers up and I'm waiting for curtain rings to arrive... picture so far attached! (Does need a paint!)

Just going through the list of stuff we've not bought yet, and I can't believe I have to say I've completely forgotten about tiny socks!! So I've made a quick list, socks, muslins, towel, more nappies, more wipes, more bottles.

Would you say 24x newborn nappies is enough to start with? We've got plenty of size 2, but I can't remember how long my son was in newborns for, but I don't think it was long, and I just don't know whether to leave it at a Pack of 24 and see afterwards if we need more or will be moving to the size 2's?

I think the problem is last time I was able to just pop into Primark with £15 And buy the basics, like muslins and socks, etc. This time it hasn't really been open to do so!

Starfish762 · 16/01/2021 19:49

@RosieJess91 aww how lovely he has a name 🥰 Nursery looks lovely already! So exciting the first lot of babies are imminent!

Can’t comment on nappies sorry, DD was only 5lb 11 with long skinny legs so was in newborn for AGES! I’d still prob get another pack to be on safe side, a 24 pack prob won’t even last a week. Aldi ones are cheap so I’m sure you can pass onto someone if any don’t get used. But I dunno if bigger babies are born straight into size 2!

DanceM1 · 16/01/2021 22:01

@Smilingdonkey very cute! Ive gone baby shopping mad this week and can't stop buying bits for the house either. Is it possible for nesting to set in at this stage?! 🤣 constantly looking at which room to paint next, how to make this room or that room more homely 🙈

@JoJo58995 thats hilarious! I never would have thought of that 🤣🤣

@Starfish762 we are quite stuck on girls names... we have very different opinions. Boys are easier for us but still not decided 🙈 Have you got lots of lovely girl names lined up?

DanceM1 · 16/01/2021 22:02

@RosieJess91 sorry I meant to say yeyyy to the nursery! I LOVE looking at people's nurseries so thanks for sharing! I think size 1 nappies are for up to 11lb aren't they or does it depend on the make? If it is 11lb, I would get some more. I need to do the same x

Workingmama1 · 16/01/2021 22:41

@rosiejess91 love the nursery, it makes it feel real doesn't it! In terms of nappies I'd get a couple of packs of newborn? You changing every few hours so a 24 pack will only last a few days.

@Smilingdonkey those bits for the baby are so cute!

@Starfish762 yay for a girl! Was your daughter chuffed?

Our nursery is painted and wallpaper up now, will try and get a pick and share...

Baby is going mad today and yesterday. Problem is his movements is so obvious when he's like this, when he's quiet it's really noticeable and then I worry.

@Pugprincess both times I've been monitored this pregnancy I've had to hold the monitor in place! The midwife said at this stage as they are still so small they can wriggle away easily.

I think baby is still breach, feeling lots of movement low down, hoping he will turn at some point.

Starfish762 · 17/01/2021 07:10

@Workingmama1 yeah she was absolutely thrilled! She said she didn’t mind but I could tell deep down she wanted a sister, don’t blame her I grew up feeling the same way (I haven't got one!) Not gonna lie I did secretly hope for a boy just to experience the picture perfect 2.5 children, but we both said a sister would be lovely for DD & would hopefully make them closer (spesh with a 4 year age gap), and SO much easier for clothes & toys. Poor second kids just get all the hand me downs 😂 And after losing a baby I don’t think anyone would truly mind - I feel SO much better now I know & like I’m finally starting to trust things will be okay 🙏🏼 Just need some movements now!

@DanceM1 we’ve loved the name Daphne for years but Bridgerton is going to make it popular I think so that’s putting me off! Also like Juniper & Remi. Want to consider lots more though as there are so many nice girls options, boys are tough!

What’s on everyone’s shortlist? I’m not going to steal 😂 It actually feels nice to say them out loud in a safe space, family & friends ask & it’s hard to keep quiet (even though I do!)

Smilingdonkey · 17/01/2021 08:44

@jojo58995 I find it awful for names with both of us being teachers but it must be even worse with animals 🤣 I know what you mean about buying new. It does feel nice to have bought her a couple of special things for herself. I got her a hat and a blanket as I did that for Mary and I think they will be nice things for her to keep forever.

@starfish672 we have a name we keep coming back to. It took us a week or two after DD was born to confirm her name though as I felt like I needed to meet her and spend some time with her before giving her a name - silly really! It just seemed like such a responsibility! I hope this baby suits the name we like ... If not we are screwed as we have no others we agree on! I love one which is really 'out there' and 'hippy' according to my DD. I have always loved it and I'm so sad he won't let me use it again 😔 I might try and sneak it in as a middle name ... Everyone else will laugh at it - but I love it!

@rosiejess91 Nursery looks fab! I love the mobile! I think you will need several packs of nappies. Newborns can need changing up to 8-10 times a day 😩 My DD was 8lb10 and in newborn nappies for a good 4 weeks. I'd probably buy 2 packs just to save us having to leave the house in the first few days!

@dancem1 I am definitely nesting! I've ordered new sofas and keep moving furniture around 🤣 I also got all the nappies out and oraganised them all for a newborn last night 🙄 I am trying to save lots to do for when I stop work at 37 weeks otherwise I'll be so bored! God I hope my sofas arrive on time! 🤣😩

@workingmama1 can you feel where baby is? I can't do that! How do you tell? ... I'm sure it will move - you have plenty of time (sort of! - although time seems to be slipping away doesn't it?!) Xxxxx

Starfish762 · 17/01/2021 09:25

@Smilingdonkey oooh please share? I love a hippie/out there name! DD was almost called Pixie but we decided in the end it was just a tad too out there. And agree about them having to suit the name, it took us 3 days to name DD flitting between the 2 names we had.

Starfish762 · 17/01/2021 09:26

@Starfish762 I def think a more ‘out there’ name is absolutely fine as a middle name, mine isn’t even noted on medical records etc!

Smilingdonkey · 17/01/2021 09:31

I can't bring myself to share it ... I love it do much that I am so possessive of it 😫😫🤣🤣🤣 I will tell you when she's born! I will get it in as a middle name (and then call her it as a nickname 😜)

ew1990 · 17/01/2021 10:32

@smilimgdonkey I really want to know what the name is now.

We've had one picked from a couple of weeks after my 20 week scan, it was a choice between 2 that we both liked.

Smilingdonkey · 17/01/2021 10:46

@ew1990 ... 33 weeks today so not long to wait! 🤣 how can we be so close already? I'm beginning to wish that I was finishing work early ... 4 weeks to go 😱 Although having said that I am still going into school everyday because I hate working from home so much ... This way DD can go to childminder and DP can get some work done at home! I sit in my own office all at and get a free lunch - it's the most amount of time I've had to myself since DD was born! It's great!
How bad is it that my biggest worry is that DP will be working from home during my Mat leave ... I will literally go mad in this tiny flat if he is here!

ew1990 · 17/01/2021 11:04

@smilingdonkey I know what you mean, DP is still working in the office and has to stay away overnight sometimes and I love them nights when he's away and i get the bed to myself 🙈 not so sure ill love them when I'm on my own with a 3 year old and a baby

Smilingdonkey · 17/01/2021 11:06

@ew1990 - see I reckon I will still love my nights alone 🤣 I said to him recently 'I love you but I didn't get into a relationship with you to spend every second of every day with you!' and I meant it!

DanceM1 · 17/01/2021 12:51

@Smilingdonkey you sound exactly like me.. can't stop fussing and organising but we have LOADS to do in the house before baba arrives so its not a bad thing! I also have 4 weeks left. Quite enjoying wfh to be honest! Its nice to have my live zooms 3 times a day so I still have that interaction with the children but nice to not have to drive in every day. I go in once a week at the end of the day but that's it.

@Starfish762 our favourite boy names are Edward (Teddy) and Archie. Girls no idea 🙈 In that sense I really hope we have a boy haha.

ew1990 · 17/01/2021 13:14

I really liked Ben for a boy, ours was a choice between lily and Lucy
