Really really sorry to read that @wrensandrobins Hopefully it's ok. Thinking of you xx

Scaredycat101 · 29/12/2020 10:11

@Scotti84 They're great! Tho now I'm making sure I don't have a massive mug and resorting to smaller cups for coffee, meh! I'm about to get my only caffeinated drink for the day, it's like a ritual now dancing around the kettle 😂🙈.

So sorry to hear about your mum and it must be so hard especially with your dad in the UK . We're here as a support alongside your husband so you'll feel less alone ☺️. Although I'm sure that your DP's parents will be ecstatic when you share the news!

Yep, feeling exactly the same between happy and feeling like it'll be a healthy straightforward pregnancy but then bad self talk creeps in and ruins the party!

@Mseddy Thank you for your post, it made me snap outta my panic spiral last night! I guess no matter your journey the sheer surprise of getting a BFP is universal! 💛

@Darklava09 Ahhh I see, yep I can understand now why you're a bit unsure! Very true, if 2020 has taught us anything it's family and health are so important! I'm pretty sure if you have a lot of younger colleagues that pregnancies are on the horizon and if you're a valued member of the team they'll be over the moon! I'm the only relatively young one (28) in my workplace, the rest are around 40+ so the majority have already had their families but they'll be supportive I'm sure.

Wow spooky! Definitely give it a listen and lemme know, I'm so intrigued by medium stuff! Crazy that she was spot on about a December BFP, I'm still shocked it's happened so fast myself.

@Scared34 Sending you lots of virtual hugs! As FelicityHeather said have you got any family to support you? It's so normal to feel overwhelmed, scared and anxious but sharing your feelings will help you work through it - whether it's us or family! I'm scared stiff and we planned ours, but this thread has definitely helped 💛.

Welcome newbies! Hope you're all doing well this morning! It's getting rather busy now but sending lots of well wishes your way!

@Ralala I think I'll be doing the same as you, another 2ish weeks for me until I call a MW. Husband is determined for us to keep it hush until 12 weeks, so I'm got to learn to be patient🤦🏽‍♀️. I'll be the same, working for a uni all the students are submitting work and so much marking ahead. Hope it all goes smoothly for you tho, it'll be hard not to say anything but will be worth it.

@Noornie Thats a fab idea, I'd be well up for joining a FB group! The other one you joined for your first sounds great 😀. Love the post you shared, I keep reading and saying the first line, got to keep a positive mindset!

@KitQ Hope the nausea was kept at bay this morning before you had to go to work! Are you taking snacks, boiled sweets or anything to keep it at bay?

@Everstorm Thats so interesting about being cold, I'm the opposite! If you've ever seen Friday Night Dinner on C4 I'm like the dad, roasting and boiling all the time 😂. Normally I'm the ice queen with a blanket covering me at all times. Yep, just make sure you're eating a balanced-ish diet or whatever you can see down! I'm just making sure my caffeine is under control, eating good food and I'm taking folic acid and vit D every day.

This morning my boobs have turned against me, it feels like they've been hit with a baseball bat! Think I need to shop for a bra I can sleep in cause it's getting a bit silly 🙃. How's everyone else feeling today?

felicityheather · 29/12/2020 10:14

Thinking of you @wrensandrobins. Take care of yourself either way xx

I think that link should work - I’ve set it as private so that if you’re not a part of the group other people can’t see who the members are or what you post :)

Noornie · 29/12/2020 10:17

@wrensandrobins I’m so sorry, try not to count yourself out yet though. Pregnancy does weird stuff to our bodies, hopefully your temp will boost up again tomorrow Flowers

eb1989 · 29/12/2020 10:22

Lost track of the chat yesterday! But congratulations to all the new ones joining 💕

@wrensandrobins I'm so sorry to hear that. Fingers crossed for you and I'll be thinking of you x

@Sparrow91 I'm going to hold out on the early scan for as long as poss! I haven't discussed an early scan with my partner yet to get his opinion. What week are you booked for?

@DiamondsInThe did you manage to speak to the EPU? How's the spotting?

Thanks @Noornie I'll come over and join! Might be easier to keep track of in a fb group.

@Scaredycat101 I've stopped wearing proper bras whilst at home 🤣 it's too uncomfortable.

Scaredycat101 · 29/12/2020 10:26

@wrensandrobins Sending you lots of love, hope your temp comes back up! X

Bethy1995 · 29/12/2020 10:40

Hi All,

I got my BFP on Christmas Eve and according to my dates I'd be 4+3 today. I've been having dull cramps, tender boobs and some snot like discharge (sorry tmi) is this normal? I'm a little anxious as the last time I fell pregnant it ended in MC in July last year and can't remember what my symptoms were with my son who is now nearly 4.

I'm hoping to stay on this thread as my due date would be early sept 2021

Sparrow91 · 29/12/2020 10:42

@wrensandrobins so sorry, here’s hoping that temp shoots back up again Flowers

@Noornie I’ve sent a request to the fb group!

I can’t reply to everyone (can’t believe things are moving so quickly!) but just wanted to update I've booked into the midwife - my appt is on the 22nd. Didn’t have to see the doctor or nurse at all, they just booked me into the midwife at the surgery... I haven’t moved my surgery since I moved in with DP though, so not sure if I’ll have to move surgeries now!

@eb1989 I’ve booked in for 7+1 - it’s also now the week before the midwife appt. I figure it’ll just give some reassurance everything is going okay!

Ralala · 29/12/2020 10:43

Thanks @Noornie. I will join in a little bit. Just want to get these early weeks out the way and then I will make sure to say hello when I join xxx

2020mc · 29/12/2020 11:15

I would also love to join but with leave it a couple of weeks if that's ok ❤ @Scared34 how are you feeling? This is my first pregnancy too and even though it was very planned after starting treatment for pcos its still quite overwhelming and daunting. I think it's normal to feel like that. Hope you're ok Xx

Ralala · 29/12/2020 11:48

@wrensandrobins rest up and take care of yourself XX

KitQ · 29/12/2020 12:35

@Sparrow91 yes digestive biscuits are the saviour. Still a bit nauseous but first thing in the morning is the worst. Good to hear you got your appointment, so they’re not getting you into the GP for a blood test or anything? That’s all with the midwife on the 22nd? I’m calling tomorrow so I’m looking forward to see if that’s the same for me.

Scared34 · 29/12/2020 13:24

Thank you for all your replies. I havent told any of my family or friends yet. Because the father doesn't want to be involved I dont really know how to tell them and then have to explain that the father is not involved. I was awake until about 2am last night. Just crying. I feel so lost. One minute I'm determined to carry on and make it work the next I think I must have lost my mind and should terminate. I'm just unsure if I could live with the guilt. I had 2 terminations when I was in my early 20s so I feel like if I terminate again I dont deserve another shot at being a mum! I feel completely lost! :-( xx

felicityheather · 29/12/2020 13:49

@Scared34 I guess maybe take some time to think it over? Maybe consider if there's anyone you can trust to talk to. If not, maybe you can schedule an appointment with gp or midwife to discuss?

Keyboard91 · 29/12/2020 13:50

Wow this thread is moving so fast! I hope everyone had a great Xmas!

Congratulations on everyone on their bfps ❤️

Will catch up properly later xx

felicityheather · 29/12/2020 13:50

I've got a really dry mouth, is that a pregnancy thing? I'm worried its gonna be a covid symptom or something?

2020mc · 29/12/2020 13:52

@Scared34

I'm really sorry to hear you're so upset. Do you have a close friend or family member you can confide in? If a close friend of mine or my sister was in your position I would really hope they would confide in me. If not maybe you could speak to a nurse at your gp practice or a counsellor. Its not something you need to make a decision on today or tomorrow. Get yourself some fresh air and try to do something that'll help you make sense of things. For me it's writing things down. Just try breathe and relax. Don't underestimate the effects of hormones that could be contributing to the way you're feeling and affecting your sleep. I really feel for you but if you can step back and be kind to yourself you might feel a bit better x

Keyboard91 · 29/12/2020 13:54

@wrensandrobins look after yourself xx

@Scared34 sorry to read how hard things are. Forget everyone else at this point, make decisions based on you. Could you talk to a family member, close friend or GP to help you straighten things up in your mind?

OP posts:
Keyboard91 · 29/12/2020 13:55

@felicityheather I get that quite a lot in early pregnancy and get very thirsty.

OP posts:
Scaredycat101 · 29/12/2020 15:47

Has anyone experienced any ovary and hip pain at all? Went shopping earlier and busily put everything away, before you know it my right ovary was having sharp pains!

Tried to relieve it by moving gently and stretching and now it's painful in my hip joint, too! Hope this is just stretching cause it doesn't feel nice at all 😭!

@felicityheather Oddly had the opposite, excess saliva for me since before my BFP - husband thought I had lost it by having a cup by my side at all times 🙃. Not sure whether dry mouth is Covid symptom, but maybe up your drinks or have ice lollies to see if that helps?

Highfalutinlootin · 29/12/2020 17:36

@wrensandrobins Holding out hope for you.

Highfalutinlootin · 29/12/2020 17:38

I've booked my first scan for 7 weeks exactly. Looks like partners are still not allowed to join for any appointments except the birth at the practice I go to. A bit sad about that.

KitQ · 29/12/2020 17:53

@Highfalutinlootin yes same for us, really sad. Also booked a scan for 7 weeks 2 days (3 weeks from today) and husband can come to that so we’ve got that at least :)

Highfalutinlootin · 29/12/2020 18:01

@KitQ Is your 7 week scan private instead? I'm in the U.S. so the rules and system are different here, but COVID restrictions and disappointment are universal!
