@Highfalutinlootin yes the 7 week scan is private. Is your partner able to come to your 7 week scan?

Highfalutinlootin · 29/12/2020 18:15

@KitQ No, partner can't come to anything. All my scans including the 7 week one are through my usual OBGYN doctor. First scans and blood tests are done at 6-8 weeks here, second is NIPT test at 10-11, third is growth scan at 12 weeks.

KitQ · 29/12/2020 18:20

@Highfalutinlootin Ah that’s such a shame. That will be really hard. I’d like to say maybe things will change the further we progress but nothing is certain at the moment :(

Highfalutinlootin · 29/12/2020 18:21

It's uncommon to have a midwife here and I'm actually not planning to have one at all. You can specifically choose it if you want to go to a natural birth center, but I definitely want an epidural and to give birth in a hospital so I'll be sticking to OBGYN care.

Luna57 · 29/12/2020 19:16

Congratulations to everyone!

Has everyone contacted their GP I’m 4+4 but was gonna leave it to next week or so to call.

Feeling crampy and queasy today with sore stomach muscles. Feeling sorry for myself because OH made dinner and I couldn’t eat it because the smell was turning me so much. Praying I only get mild morning sickness. I’m due to get married in just over 5 weeks and don’t plan on vomiting down the aisle lol.

How’s everyone feeling today?

KitQ · 29/12/2020 19:50

Calling the GP in the morning to get the ball rolling and to be referred to midwife etc. Going to mention that my shoulder is hurting. No other significant pain anywhere else but my left shoulder is very painful. Probably nothing but definitely worth mentioning, right?

felicityheather · 29/12/2020 20:22

@KitQ no harm in mentioning it.

Sparrow91 · 29/12/2020 20:23

Popping on to quickly say @KitQ - are you in the UK?

If so, please call 111 - shoulder pain is an ectopic pregnancy symptom and it would be worth getting it checked over ASAP even if there is no bleeding. I don’t want to scaremonger but would feel awful if something happened and I didn’t urge you to be checked xx

Ralala · 29/12/2020 20:49

@KitQ unexplained shoulder pain at this stage can be a sign of ectopic. Please call and make sure to get checked ASAP. EPU would be your best bet in the morning unless very painful then I would call nhs 24 tonight xxx

KitQ · 29/12/2020 20:50

@Sparrow91 yes I am. If I call 111 is there really anything that can be done til morning though? I don’t suppose there’s anyone around at 9pm for early scans or anything is there?

Raffie13 · 29/12/2020 20:54

Hi everyone,

I am starting to feel much more positive now, things are starting to become more real! There is light at the end of the tunnel for anyone still feeling confused/can't process it for no apparent reason.

Called GP this morning and I've got an appointment tomorrow afternoon. This is my first so I don't really know what to expect. Does anyone else?

Hope you're all keeping well!

Rice1992 · 29/12/2020 21:05

Hey @Noornie as much as I want to join the FB group straight away, I will wait a couple of weeks if that’s ok - want to get a bit further through and maybe after an early scan to make sure all is ok 😊

@Scaredycat101 I had those kind of pains over Christmas. They’ve calmed down a bit now though so hopefully yours will do the same 🤞🏻 Like you, I am hoping they are muscular!

@Scared34 sorry to hear about your situation and how upset you’ve been. I can’t imagine how difficult it must be. I do think that if you have someone you can talk to it would really help. They could help you work through things and decide what’s best for you 💛

Bethy1995 · 29/12/2020 21:43

@felicityheather I had this the week before I got my BFP, to the point I was waking in the night and drinking a pint of water

KitQ · 29/12/2020 21:48

First drama of the thread, didn’t think it’s be me as I’m feeling quite chill about everything. Called 111 and mentioned shoulder pain and being 4 weeks pregnant and they sent a fucking ambulance. Got checked and everything seems fine. They’re not too worried as stomach isn’t in agony or anything. They said to make sure to speak to GP tomorrow and see how it goes from there. Feel bad for wasting their time! didn’t think 111 would send a bloody ambulance. I feel fine it’s just my shoulder.

VNttc · 29/12/2020 21:52

Hello! Is it okay if I join? I'm 13 dpo and got my BFP two days ago! So nervous and have been checking progression and all seems okay but this is my first pregnancy!

My due date is 9th-15th September 😊

Scaredycat101 · 29/12/2020 21:53

@KitQ I'm sure they would be able to if there's a suspected ectopic, well worth calling 111 as the others have mentioned and getting checked out sooner rather than later!

@Rice1992 Ah that's a relief! Glad to hear yours has calmed down, they're not nice at all! Now I've been drinking more and rested they're much better ☺️.

@Raffie13 Glad you're feeling more positive, that's amazing you got in with the GP so quick, let us know how you get on!

@Luna57 Congrats on both your BFP snd upcoming wedding! Tho not so much on the morning sickness... Hope that passes quickly for you! I'm still debating when to call yet (at 4+3 today), I had another issue a few weeks ago that hasn't resolved itself which is still a concern so unsure whether to sort that first before mentioning the pregnancy!

Also had a bit of crap news this evening, MIL has had some inner ear issues for a few weeks (full deafness in ear, vertigo) and after seeing someone they've made an urgent ENT referral to hospital after seeing a lump on her eardrum. DP and his siblings are especially worried, as am I! MIL petrified it's something sinister 😭.

Scaredycat101 · 29/12/2020 21:55

@KitQ Blooooody hell! I'm so glad everything is all okay but never feel like you're wasting time! Amazing that they responded so quickly.

Highfalutinlootin · 29/12/2020 22:03

@KitQ Good for you for taking care of yourself and baby. Always better safe than sorry. Hope it turns out to be nothing.

Ralala · 29/12/2020 22:10

@KitQ sorry I shouldn’t laugh but that gave me a chuckle! Good to know they are taking it seriously though. Likely nothing but best to get checked

Does anyone feel like time has slowed down. The week between Xmas and new year is always a wtf day is it type of week. Chuck in lockdown and finding your pregnant and I swear I feel like at least 5 years have passed haha

KitQ · 29/12/2020 22:18

@Ralala hahaha don’t laugh! You’ll be sorry when I die (of embarrassment). But yeah hopefully GP might give me reassurance tomorrow.

And yes time has slowed. We’re gonna feel like pregnancy is lasting forever and then at the end we’ll be like time has flown!!

Aila84 · 29/12/2020 22:28

Estimated due date September 9th.. 3 + 5 days. Got my BFP yesterday. 4th baby.. 🥳

DoomsDayB3ar · 30/12/2020 00:43

Just got a bfp today. I'm 5 months postpartum and missed 2 periods. So I'm not sure when I'm exactly due either late August or Early September.

wrensandrobins · 30/12/2020 06:45

Thank you for all the support I got yesterday, just wanted share that my temp has shot back up! So not a chemical! Now to hide that thermometer 🤣

September 2021!
Spin4Gin · 30/12/2020 07:03

Finally feeling brave enough to join and get involved :-). Got my 3+ today on clear blue and my due date is end of august / beginning of September. I've had two previous early miscarriages so feeling very anxious but keeping fingers crossed. Getting a few wee symptoms, tired, shortness of breath, elevated heart rate and sore boobs - no nausea yet.

September 2021!
2020mc · 30/12/2020 07:03

Great news @wrensandrobins! Now destroy the thermometer 😂 so glad it's gone up x

@KitQ Hope you're appt with gp goes well today. Glad you got it all looked into.
