hey all, and congrats on the BFPs! tentatively joining you all if thats ok :), got faint line this morn and then 1-2wks on a digi one. Happy but also feeling bit anxious, after a MMC at 11 weeks in oct. obviously delighted its happened again for us pretty quick but don't think this is gonna be stress free :S really surprised as altho had bad cramps for last 5 days i thought AF was coming as no other symptoms at all. Last time my boobs were SO tender and sore really quickly! gutted i cant finish off the prosecco and brie and pate in the fridge now hahaha.

Noornie · 28/12/2020 14:14

Hello all :) I posted on another September 2021 but this seems a bit more active!

I think I’m 3+5 with a DD of 8th September, so still very very early days. Got my first squinter on Christmas Eve (which was only 8dpo so didn’t expect it to come back positive!). I was a bit concerned about my progression on the one step tests but took a frer yesterday which came back with a lovely clear line :)

This will be my second, I’ve got a very nearly 2 year old daughter so she’ll be around 2yr 9month when baby arrives which I’m excited for! I had a loss back in May so I’m fairly anxious if I’m honest but trying really hard to think positively!

I’ve no symptoms really at the moment but in my first pregnancy I had no symptoms the whole way through, and my second I was nauseous from about 5 weeks so waiting to see what happens there. Frustratingly I’ve also come down with a horrible case of tonsillitis in the last two days which has meant I’ve spent a lot of time just in bed. Hoping it’ll pass soon!

DiamondsInThe · 28/12/2020 14:16

Hey @wrensandrobins congrats on the BFP, as long as the BBT rose after ovulation I wouldn’t worry if it’s not continuing to rise, should just expect the rise to stay above the cover line as progesterone stays up. My BBT is up and down because my sleeps been completely off, I find myself sleeping twice through the night between 4-7/8am and then 9am-12pm and it’s always considerably higher on my second sleep as I find that’s my more restful undisturbed sleep xx

Ralala · 28/12/2020 14:20

Looks like September will be a busy month Smile

DiamondsInThe · 28/12/2020 14:23

Hi @Noornie I’ve been using the one step too but just find them so inconsistent, I’ve been keeping them to see if I can see a progression which I definitely can but after using frer don’t even know why I bothered with the one step in the first place they just drive you a little crazy.

Sorry about your loss, I too had a loss in July around 7 weeks, let’s hope for sticky beans this time. I’ve not really got major symptoms either tbh, just sore boobs, my sleep has decided to disappear and some spotting since yesterday which has lessened today thank god xx

Mseddy · 28/12/2020 14:27

Can I join? I'm 3+5 today after a frozen embryo transfer. I had a chemical after a fresh round in September so I'm absolutely petrified that it's going to happen again. Think I'm going to need some hand holding! I got my BFP yesterday at the equivalent of 11dpo. Haven't tested again today but I think I might tomorrow. I've got 1 more frer and 2 on the way. I have 2 clear blue that my ivf clinic gave me, but I don't tend to trust the blue dye ones. I'm just really really hoping this is the one that sticks!!! Good luck everyone

Noornie · 28/12/2020 14:35

@DiamondsInThe they really are very unreliable aren’t they. I had one come back yesterday as negative which terrified me, but this morning I can see definite line progression compared to before. Like you say though the frers make me wonder why I bother!

I’m sorry about your loss too - it’s rubbish isn’t it. I’m definitely more anxious now due to that.

Ah hopefully you’ll manage some sleep soon! Actually I do remember with my first sore boobs were my first symptom, however I’m still breastfeeding DD at the moment and my boobs are basically dead to touch now so don’t think I’ll notice any soreness there, haha!

Noornie · 28/12/2020 14:37

@Mseddy congratulations!! Everything crossed for you it’s a sticky bean. I agree I’m not a fan of clear blue, frers all the way for me.

Fi2612 · 28/12/2020 15:20

Quick question on clear blue, I’ve previously used them twice which were negative. I used two yesterday (the early detection one and digital one), both were positive. Should I try another test with another brand?

catgamerlady · 28/12/2020 16:30

Thanks @Scaredycat101 @KitQ!

It's really interesting reading all of your symptoms. This is my first so I'm feeling a bit anxious about whether everything I feel is normal, especially when so much of it feels like AF!

I've had terrible insomnia lately as well but reading other's posts makes it seem quite common.

Best of luck to us all!

Highfalutinlootin · 28/12/2020 16:32

@DiamondsInThe Glad to hear your spotting has cleared up. Mine seems to have, as well, and it's such a relief, isn't it?

Raffie13 · 28/12/2020 16:44

Is anyone else finding it really difficult to come to terms with? DH is wanting to tell everyone but I just can't wrap my head around it. I generally struggle with change anyway, but it's crazy because we have been planning for this..it's not like it's unexpected. I feel terrible for not feeling excited yet

Highfalutinlootin · 28/12/2020 17:04

Welcome, @Mseddy and all the other recent joiners! Congratulations!

@wrensandrobins My BBT did not do a triphasic rise after my positive either; it has stayed at the same elevated level it always is in my luteal phase, no higher. As long as yours stays at your luteal temp and not your follicular temp you're fine.

@Raffie13 I was excited the first week I knew, but then all the doubt hit me and I started reading about miscarriage rates etc. I now understand why most wait until the second trimester to tell. I'm going to wait until the miscarriage rate is low AND I've had the Harmony scan and am sure no abnormalities.

Scaredycat101 · 28/12/2020 17:10

@Raffie13 Feeling quite similar, DP is so excited but I'm feeling like I'm getting more 'whatever happens, happens' as the days go by! Maybe it's the pragmatic side of me but who knows! I thought of going for an early scan as well but again, some days I get excited and want to book it and the next time I want to wait it out. Ours was planned too, but now it's happening it's still quite overwhelming!

Maybe we'll feel much better in a couple of days, the more time passes the likelihood it'll all sink in and it becomes normality (and excitement sets in) ☺️.

Ralala · 28/12/2020 17:10

@Raffie13 I think you need to let the news sink in and to process it. I think that’s completely natural. Personally we won’t be telling anyone any time soon due to a previous loss but also because we need to process it all too xxx

Darklava09 · 28/12/2020 17:26

@Raffie13 I’ve felt the same. I swing between being excited and then feeling anxious and thinking what have I done. In my head this was going to take a long time but it’s happened so fast I’m panicking about everything especially telling work and the finances! I’d wanted more time to save but.
I’m convinced somethings going to happen negatively in this pregnancy and I don’t know why. I saw a psychic a few months ago which hasn’t helped. I know most won’t believe it but she was spot on when it came to this even tho i didn’t expect it this month.

I think how you feel is completely normal. Take each day as it comes which is what I’ve been doing

wrensandrobins · 28/12/2020 17:34

@Highfalutinlootin and @DiamondsInThe thanks for the reassurance I will try and push it out my mind :)

Also good to see others have the insomnia I keep waking at 5am, no idea why 🙄 so annoying!

Raffie13 · 28/12/2020 17:44

@Darklava09 @Ralala @Scaredycat101 @Highfalutinlootin

Thank you all for getting back to me, I thought I was going mad! I've just had a cry because I just don't know how I feel, it's mad especially because it's been planned for a while.

We've told my sister (mainly for some extra support for me) and DH parents (so they didn't force alcohol on me at Christmas, which MIL always does!). Won't be telling anyone else until later on. We've booked an early scan for the end of Jan so I'm just going to focus on coming to terms with it and then hopefully soon I will start looking forward to that.

I'm glad it's not just me! Sorry for being so negative! I will hopefully spring back to my normal self soon.

This thread is going to be a great ball of emotions isn't it 😂 glad I have people to message though!

Sceptre86 · 28/12/2020 19:47

@2020mc as far as I know the Pfizer vaccine is not going to be given to pregnant women or women who are trying for a baby, it has not been approved for use by the MHRA in the UK for this group. At the moment their reasoning is purely because it hasn't been tested on pregnant women. I did read that it is being rolled out to pregnant women in the US as they are using a risk /benefit analysis. Not sure whether the Oxford vaccine will be given to pregnant women, as far as I am aware it is still to be approved by the MHRA. I am in a similar boat to you and work are wanting to know who has signed up for it.

Scaredycat101 · 28/12/2020 19:49

@Raffie13 Aw don't apologise! I think it comes with the territory and once we're through the first stage, we'll all worry about the next! I spiralled again earlier but found some deep breathing and reading some very rational posts on Mumsnet helped massively 🙂.

It's great that you have some support from family already as well as this thread, we all have negative days and moments but shall keep calm and carry on 💪🏼!

@Darklava09 Thats crazy about the psychic, I've seen one before many years ago and she was scarily accurate, too! Although, I've always taken their interpretations with a pinch of salt, so hopefully adapting a positive viewpoint from now on (even if it takes a while) alongside taking each day as it comes should help 💛.

I'm glad someone else has had a similar experience tho, I thought we'd have lots of time to save and prepare, but apparently not 😭. Husband could be in a better job with more security and our savings could be much healthier. I'm sure your work will be supportive when you tell them, is your manager good and are your colleagues a nice bunch?

Sceptre86 · 28/12/2020 19:56

@sparrow91 I saw a consultant in my last two pregnancies in addition to my midwife visits. There was some overlaps in the tests that they did. It was mainly because dd was low birth weight as my placenta stopped working, I also lost my waters early. The same thing happened with ds but I managed to hold on until 40 weeks. So I get extra scans to monitor all that. I am in Scotland.

I am not exactly sure how far along I am tbh, I came off the pill 2 months ago and had one cycle off 22 days and the other 26. My average cycle length this past year has been 37 days whilst on the min pill, prior to that it was every 28 days.

Congratulations to all the newbies! Looks like this is going to be a busy birth board!

Ralala · 28/12/2020 20:04

@Raffie13 You will absolutely have more what have I done moments at all stages don’t worry! So so so normal

PennySas · 28/12/2020 20:09

@Raffie13 I’m feeling exactly the same. Was crying a lot today as although we had decided to try I wasn’t expecting it to happen straight away and feeling so overwhelmed and not excited at all. I’m hoping I’ll feel better about it all soon but just know you’re not alone feeling this way xx

Sparrow91 · 28/12/2020 20:13

Ooh it is really getting busy, I’m so happy everyone is here with our little beans though 🥰

@Noornie hey! So glad you’ve hopped over! How is the tonsillitis doing?

@Sceptre86 ah that makes sense. I guess it helps having that extra reassurance :) is maybe take the average of both of the two cycles since coming off the pill?

Also in total solidarity on the anxiety, as much as I’m so so happy, I didn’t expect to fall so quickly! Now I’m terrified something is going to happen, or we’re not ready for it.. plus I have a puppy joining us in a couple of weeks and hopefully a house move before baby arrives. So much going on!

Noornie · 28/12/2020 20:34

@Sparrow91 ah glad to see you here too! Tonsillitis has absolutely wiped me out unfortunately - spent most of today in bed :( feeling really sorry for my 2 year old who kept saying to her daddy “why my mummy gone?” Which was breaking my heart! In a lot of pain today and temp still sitting around 39. Trying not to worry but hard not to!
