@MrsKPenguin thank you :) I've read it is completely normal just have to get used to all these pains and aches lol

Scotti84 · 18/01/2021 21:05

Evening everyone,

Hows everyone today? I am having a rough day today! Got a headache, huge nausea but still not actually thrown up yet, so tired and my nipples and boobs hurt like hell! Hoping to feel better when I wake up. One thing driving me insane is my sense of smell! Everything is so strong and i can’t stand it, I got a whiff of something in the living room and had to air the whole room out til it had gone... and it’s minus 6 here today 🤦🏻‍♀️ I’m hoping that passes soon!

sophied1983 · 18/01/2021 21:06

Found out last week that I'm pregnant, am around five weeks.

How the hell am I meant to stay calm until September?!

It has taken us 2.5 years of trying - with one miscarriage and one chemical pregnancy.

I'm feeling pretty shell-shocked.

Congratulations everyone!!!

MrsMcNtobe · 18/01/2021 21:12

@Noodles4Me I have an early scan booked for next Wednesday, I’ll be 6+5 but I’m starting to doubt if it’s too early and if I should try and move it back a week - to be honest I think I’m overthinking. Have you decided if you’re going to book a scan?

FTEngineerM · 18/01/2021 21:15

@Scotti84 minus 6 here today that sounds hideous. Fingers crossed sickness disappears after the first trimester! I’ve found fruit twist Fanta stops me feeling sick today, mini win.

I think the new sense of smell is here to stay for the long slog though.

FTEngineerM · 18/01/2021 21:16

@MrsMcNtobe if there’s nothing there heartbeat wise they sometimes offer you a rescan, are you able to check maybe?

MrsMcNtobe · 18/01/2021 21:18

@FTEngineerM yeah they ask you to come back a week later, My clearblue said 3+ last Wednesday then adding on two weeks would mean I’m going to be 6+5 or potentially a few days ahead (not sure when I ovulated but I think it was earlier than expected) I’ve been so excited for the scan and today for some reason total anxiety has just set in

danigrace · 18/01/2021 21:19

Congratulations @sophied1983! It took us a long time to conceive our first too so I can totally relate to that intense excitement combined with immense worry!!

Totally with you on the hyper smell @Scotti84 - emptying the bin constantly, running the dishwasher before it's full, and sent DH to brush his teeth before his morning coffee today 🙈🙈

Been soooo oppressively exhausted today but now I'm in bed I can't sleep! Got both my little ones in with me though so enjoying snuggling them 🥰

treesall · 18/01/2021 21:59

Hi all. Sadly, I think my positive might be a chemical. My lines are not really getting darker and today's looked lighter.

I've already recently had a chemical so I am kinda prepared but also think I will be devastated...I just want to know either way so badly!

When would I expect to get a 2-3 on a clear blue?

I had a 1-2 a few days before my period was due.

I know it's not an exact science but would like to try one when it 'should' have moved to 2-3.

MamaPheebz · 18/01/2021 22:13

@danigrace
Thanks for your caring reply. I’ve attached a screenshot from the NHS website as that is my go to source for information. Everyone has to do what they think is right for them and their baby.

September 2021!
strangerontheinternet · 19/01/2021 05:49

Hey can I join? Just got a BFP and NHS due date calculator puts me at 30th sept! This is my first and first pregnancy/positive result so I know it's still early.

MrsTD88 · 19/01/2021 08:33

@treesall sorry to hear you've had a chemical in the past, I too have gone through this before I had my daughter. When did you get your 1-2 weeks? I would wait at least a week so that your hcg has enough time to reach the 2-3 threshold. Fingers crossed for you 🙏

treesall · 19/01/2021 09:24

Thank you @MrsTD88. I also had a mc last year so feeling very apprehensive, but my tests this morning looked darker so that's given me a little bit more confidence. I will do a digital on Thursday or Friday I think.

FTEngineerM · 19/01/2021 09:32

@treesall fingers crossed for thursdays test for you, it must be so tough in the early days after loss.

Noodles4Me · 19/01/2021 09:34

@MrsMcNtobe I'm not decided. Think ill try stick it out unless I have a real cause for concern - not just anxiety - still got bloating, sore huge boobs and nausea so taking it as good sign.

Last night I dreamt a scan showed triplets though!!!!ConfusedShock

lilyj13 · 19/01/2021 10:11

I have suffered every pregnancy with h/g around 5 weeks but I'm not feeling anything other then really sore boobs, don't get me wrong it feels good but on the other hand is that ok?

Scotti84 · 19/01/2021 10:24

@FTEngineerM it’s not great, 50cm snow too, looks lovely but bloody difficult to walk in!

Fanta fruit twist was my go to hangover cure, might give that a go too! Thanks for the tip!

Oh no @danigrace I had hoped it would be more a temporary thing... my poor other half keeps getting sent to wash his mouth out too, most of the time I can’t actually work out what the smell is, it’s just overpowering!

@Noodles4Me I’ve had those dreams too... that it looked like one but when it came to the birth they were hiding behind each other and came out like paper dolls... nothing like dreams to lay more weirdness on all of this 😂

88pixie · 19/01/2021 10:52

@lilyj13 I am the same this morning. Over the weekend had lots of things going on and today just sore hips/ back and feeling bloated. Not sure if I should be feeling more or not. Did a test this morning and according to that all good. This is my first pregnancy that has got this far so a bit apprehensive as to what symptoms I should have. I guess everyone is different.

Laura2021 · 19/01/2021 11:26

@strangerontheinternet congratulations! Me too, first pregnancy/positive result - I think I’m due 17th Sept. Time seems to have slowed down this week since finding out!

lilyj13 · 19/01/2021 11:55

@88pixie well my doctor told me it's normal having no symptoms or bad symptoms but I've had bad symptoms in the past I'm just a little bit apprehensive about it. Girls apparently are a lot worse then boys I know my girls were extremely bad.
Congrats btw enjoy it. I feel tired and bloated, I have a horrible taste in my mouth, hopefully it's a boy x

MamaPheebz · 19/01/2021 12:44

@treesall if you are really worried then call your doctor and see if they will run bloods to check you hcg levels. They should do this if you have had previous miscarriages. X

Eyeofthetiger8881 · 19/01/2021 15:44

Anyone come up with a good excuse at to why not getting the vaccine yet? There was some spares going today (work for NHS) so I offered them out to my team but a few questioned why I didn't take one. I made out there was older people in the team and I wanted them to have priority but there will be more over coming weeks. Didn't want to tell them until 12 weeks really

Kat1112025 · 19/01/2021 16:34

When did everyone self-refer for their midwife? (My trust you self-refer rather than go through a GP). I'm only 4+1, 14dpo, it seems too early, feel as if I should wait to make sure it sticks?

Equimum · 19/01/2021 16:37

Eyeofthetiger8881 could you say you have an allergy to one of the ingredients, or have been advised not to have it due an health condition?

88pixie, some people really don’t have many symptoms. My friend has had three girls and, as long as she has a piece of toast as soon as she got up, she never felt sick, and had nothing other than a bit of tiredness. (She also had very short labours and gave birth three times without a single tear, intervention or anything!).

I felt wobbly and nauseous this morning, but feeling slightly better this afternoon, albeit very tired.

MrsMcNtobe · 19/01/2021 16:46

@Kat1112025 I’m in Scotland and my area say to call at 6 weeks
