I'm so frustrated!! My parents, who know we are pregnant only because I asked for help with looking after my son as we need a scan to check if I'm miscarrying are all excited and my mum is sending me fabrics she likes for a baby quilt. I've had six miscarriages. Even if I'm pregnant tomorrow it feels far too early for this rubbish.

My toddler is driving me nuts today, somehow getting into so much trouble.

I feel awful physically and mentally. My parenting today has been shoddy at best. How am I going to manage this, whichever way it goes...?

FTEngineerM · 13/01/2021 16:14

@Curiosity101 pregnancy seems to remove all logic, at least for me anyway. I suppose we just want everything to be ok. Which is a good thing Grin

@felicityheather sorry to hear your toddler is being hard work. Our 7m old is testing me to the fucking limit too, can they tell that there’s something going on? I’d probably say thanks to my mum but I’m not ready to pick things out just yet. Reassure her when you’re ready you’ll let her know though?

BFing is becoming horrid, my nips are so so so damn sensitive I just don’t know how much longer I can take. Does it last? Anyone else still breastfeeding?

FTEngineerM · 13/01/2021 16:15

Also, massive variation in appointments it seems, I’ve told our docs yesterday but I haven’t heard anything as of yet.

Summerloving2021 · 13/01/2021 16:51

@eihpos82 congrats! I’m also just feeling the anxiety and no excitement yet due to previous losses and also the fact that they told me I was miscarrying this baby as I bled heavily for 5 days. After two weeks though with the hcg still rising, I was then told I was still pregnant but they won’t scan due to covid and in those two weeks I thought I wasn’t pregnant I had some wine, a couple of hot baths and gave myself some abdomen acupressure to help with the aches, all things I wouldn’t have done if I’d know I was pregnant!

Summerloving2021 · 13/01/2021 16:52

@FTEngineerM I’m still breast feeding, nipples are so sore and I’m really not loving the 3am feeds! 😭

Summerloving2021 · 13/01/2021 16:55

@felicityheather that sounds stressful! Do you you know when your scan is yet? Does your mum know about your losses? Maybe just gently tell her you’re not mentally ready to think about things for the baby yet. Also I’m sorry you’ve had so many losses, that must have been so devastating for you 😢 fingers crossed for you that this one I s a sticky bean

Summerloving2021 · 13/01/2021 16:57

@sparklingstars12 congrats! I’m with you on feeling exhausted and sick. Prawn cocktail walkers are my saviour at the moment! Is anyone else craving anything yet?

Hopefulmummie · 13/01/2021 17:16

@Hopefulmummie

Hi everyone. Congratulations on all you bfp. I'm joining this thread cautiously as I still can't believe it.... I had a miscarriage 6 weeks ago at 8 weeks and was devastated as I also had an ectopic pregnancy in June. I stopped bleeding a week later and got more or less a negative test result.

I started tracking ovulation and going by tests ovulated 2 weeks ago. My period still hasn't arrived so decided to take a pregnancy test yesterday and it came up positive 🙈 not the darkest of lines but still lines.
I took another test today and lines are a little darker.
Because I've had no period since my miscarriage I can only date from probable ovulation date which would make me 4 weeks today and due 21st September.
Im going to ring my GP tomorrow to see if I can get bloods done just to confirm this is a new pregnancy as I still have doubts in my head that it may be hormones from last pregnancy even though it's almost certain it's a new one.

Has this ever happened anyone else?
I look forward to hopefully sharing this journey with you all :)

So rang Dr this morning and he said blood tests wouldn't be more reliable than a pregnancy test so if I'm getting positives i should count it as a new pregnancy. Feel a bit more relaxed. He's going to make a referral to EPU to see if they will do an early scan due to miscarriage and ectopic. If not I will book a private. Has anyone else one booked?
2021mumma · 13/01/2021 17:40

Is anyone doing NIPT? I did Harmony test before which was excellent so hoping to do it again, the Harmony results compared to the NHS results were so much more accurate and can find out sex etc from 10 weeks. Now to find a clinic open in covid times!

MrsMcNtobe · 13/01/2021 17:46

I’m just looking for some advice because I think I’m overthinking (as usual) based on LMP I’m 4+5 but I’ve been doing clearblue digitals every few days to make sure it goes to 3+ (anxiety...) so Monday was 2-3 and today is 3+ but I saw someone on here, and on the test instructions say that you should add 2 weeks to whatever it says, so would I technically be 5 weeks if the test says 3+?

Sorry I’m just overthinking everything here 😂

eihpos82 · 13/01/2021 17:53

@Summerloving2021 I’d been trying for 14 months ended up starting IUI in November which failed. We then had a month off over Christmas when I decided to just relax and enjoy the break from it all so I drank for the first time in ages. That was the one that worked can’t believe it! Fingers crossed the little bean sticks around. Smile

Bethy1995 · 13/01/2021 18:41

Congratulations to everyone that got their bfp!

I'm now 6+4, my boobs are so painful on and off and I'm feeling something weird just wanted to see if anyone else is getting similar...so, when I sit on the sofa I bend my knees with my legs beside me if that makes sense, I get like a pressure feeling in my lower tummy...I wouldn't go as far as to say it's a pain just pressure. Does anyone else feel this? I'm surprised to be feeling anything like that so early on x

Scotti84 · 13/01/2021 19:05

@Bethy1995 I had that too, I think. Didn’t hurt but felt like a deep kind of ache, kind of just aware of that part of my body. It lasted about a week with me off n on but has gone now. I think it’s normal, not sure what it is but I had a scan on Monday and everything was fine.

My main problem atm is lack of appetite and increased wind, my stomach hurts loads til I let it out then I feel loaaads better! Not very bloody attractive though 🤦🏻‍♀️

Bethy1995 · 13/01/2021 19:14

@Scotti84 ah I feel reassured now. I had a MC in July 2019 so I was a little worried but as you say it's not a pain and the same as you really.

I didn't have it when I was pregnant with my son, although I didn't actually find out then till around 7 weeks. I did however suffer really bad wind with my son to the point where the pain made me feel physically sick so I totally sympathise on that one.

I have booked an early private scan for Friday though to give me some reassurance (that and I'm an inpatient bugger).x

Gadea · 13/01/2021 19:31

@Scotti84 I think I have all the appetite you're lacking, I'm hungry all the time! 😅

danigrace · 13/01/2021 19:52

@2021mumma I did one with DS1, got my congratulations it's a girl message from them, he was a boy 🙈

@FTEngineerM also still feeding, this is pregnancy 3, tbh it didn't really get easier when feeding in my second pg, had to ban touching the other side when feeding because it was absolutely unbearable. But managed to keep going throughout and tandem fed at the other side which was lovely and I think really deepened their bond

felicityheather · 13/01/2021 19:59

That's good to hear @danigrace. I'm feeding too and it's quite sensitive!

Thanks for the advice ladies, @ftengineerm do I take it from your handle you're an engineer? I'm an electrical engineer.

2021mumma · 13/01/2021 20:12

@danigrace no way 😱 the sonographer spent ages on our scan and she thought he was a boy from scan and then blood test confirmed he was a boy.

FTEngineerM · 13/01/2021 20:38

Thanks @Summerloving2021 @danigrace and @felicityheather good to know I’m not alone. It think afterwards it’s totally going to be worth it if I can get through it. Hadn’t thought about the bonding part between them after, I suppose they would feel connected to me in the same way which may help with any jealousy. Who knows this is all new.

@felicity that sounds exciting - and sufficiently complicated! I am almost yes.. I’ve just started my final year project which is due... in September 😂. Currently a software tester but going into structures once degree is finished.

IDontEvenKnowAnymore · 13/01/2021 21:24

Hi ladies! I am brand new here on this forum but I have a bit of a unique situation... I have 3 boys (8,6 and 2) and had a tubal ligation on Oct. 15th, 2019 and my period was due on Jan. 9th/21... I took an hpt this morning for shits and giggles, in hopes that the stress release of seeing a negative test would help get things rolling... well it was positive and I am feeling pretty shocked, amazed and SCARED!! As it stands, baby #4 has an EDD of September 18th, 2021... please send non-alcoholic wine!

danigrace · 13/01/2021 21:32

@FTEngineerM @felicityheather omg seriously I didn't forsee that bit either but it was so so precious, they used to hold hands in the middle of my chest when feeding and it would just make me melt!!

@2021mumma yep 🙈🙈 got a refund after I sent them a copy of the birth certificate

felicityheather · 13/01/2021 21:49

@danigrace that almost makes me want to persevere...
We have our scan tomorrow. Thankfully our local epau is still allowing partners. I am in bits (hence my constant updates)

I've been having really light spotting all week since my light bleed last Wednesday. Im hoping tomorrow will either give me the courage to move forwards and try to accept it could all work out, or at least the knowledge to move on if I need to.

@FTEngineerM that sounds exciting and very technical!

FTEngineerM · 13/01/2021 22:03

@felicityheather I hope you get the news you want tomorrow, it’s great your partner can be there for support.

@danigrace I just shed a tear at the thought of holding hands. I am definitely hormonal tonight.

@IDontEvenKnowAnymore wow, congratulations, I didn’t know they could fail?!?!

bumptobean · 13/01/2021 22:49

Hi All! Hope it’s ok to join Smile

Found out I was pregnant with baby #2 last week, I’m about 4/5 weeks I’m guessing and it feels like it’s dragggggging already.

As it’s #2 we can’t afford private scans like I did with my son.. the anxiety to wait 8 more weeks until I see a scan to confirm all is ok is unreal Sad

How’s everyone coping x

bumptobean · 13/01/2021 22:51

I’m still BFing my 15 month old.. only 4/5 weeks so far and slightly sore nips. Keeping my fingers crossed I’m one of the lucky ones that manages to keep my milk and doesn’t experience aversion Blush
