Hi all

Sorry vanished for a few days!
Congratulations to all the new bfps

I'm now so so sick, every smell is killing me
Home schooling kids is not for me lol.

And now have a panicking partner about having a baby during the pandemic - (losing our twins during the last one last April I think has affected him im thinking- hopefully he ll settle down!)

So I hope everyone is keeping well, sorry the vent , tired and emotional this evening!

felicityheather · 12/01/2021 21:47

@Piecrust32 I think I use this forum exclusively for fears and ranting! No judgement here. Most things are harder in a pandemic. The anxiety of (early) pregnancy is hard at the best of times. Sorry to hear about your recent loss. I never find my husband and I are in the same place when one is struggling with a past loss. I get so frustrated that he isn't feeling what I'm feeling but then my feelings change so quickly...!

Hopefulmummie · 12/01/2021 22:06

Hi everyone. Congratulations on all you bfp.
I'm joining this thread cautiously as I still can't believe it.... I had a miscarriage 6 weeks ago at 8 weeks and was devastated as I also had an ectopic pregnancy in June.
I stopped bleeding a week later and got more or less a negative test result.

I started tracking ovulation and going by tests ovulated 2 weeks ago. My period still hasn't arrived so decided to take a pregnancy test yesterday and it came up positive 🙈 not the darkest of lines but still lines.
I took another test today and lines are a little darker.
Because I've had no period since my miscarriage I can only date from probable ovulation date which would make me 4 weeks today and due 21st September.
Im going to ring my GP tomorrow to see if I can get bloods done just to confirm this is a new pregnancy as I still have doubts in my head that it may be hormones from last pregnancy even though it's almost certain it's a new one.

Has this ever happened anyone else?
I look forward to hopefully sharing this journey with you all :)

Summerloving2021 · 13/01/2021 03:03

Hi all, congrats on your bfps! I’m due around 6th September with what will hopefully be my second! 🤞🤞 I’m feeling super anxious as we lost our first baby in the 2nd trimester, then had a pretty traumatic pregnancy/birth with DD, then a miscarriage and I had a week of heavy bleeding on week 4 with this pregnancy so I’m desperate for a scan to check all is ok!

Sorry for anyone here who’s had previous losses, it definitely makes pregnancy a much more anxious time! Any tips on how people deal with all the worrying welcomed!

Fml2015 · 13/01/2021 05:11

Hi all,
Congratulations 🎉
I'm 5 weeks today. I'm so anxious and can't sleep. I've read all 29 pages (front and back) started at 3:45am! It has been very comforting.

Is anyone a healthcare worker in a patient facing roll? I work on a perinatal mental ward ( which i love) but covid times is making me super anxious. I have had to inform my manager so we can redo my risk assessment today. Anyone experiencing anything similar?
The last national locked pregnant women 28weeks+ were suspended with full pay. I know they have scrapped the 28weeks and pregnant women of any gestation are now at a higher risk.....so I suppose I will see what happens.

MrsKPenguin · 13/01/2021 06:00

@Fml2015 hi! Congratulations! 👶
I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one who can't sleep!
I work for the ambulance service and have told my work. Due to being patient facing and in direct contact with covid, I have been taken off of the road and put on light duties away from station.
I am not sure what the situation will be further down the line, I think every trust/department are different.
I hope you manage to get a bit more sleep! X

beckyBP · 13/01/2021 06:18

🙋🏼‍♀️ I'm in the can't sleep club. I've been awake since 5am.. what's that about?!

lilyj13 · 13/01/2021 07:27

I woke up this morning feeling shaky and nauseas, very anxious and tired.

Heard about a lady who sent me some info about her time with HG and now I'm really really scared and dreading this pregnancy. I'm worried the more I get near to 6 weeks the more I'm anxious and can't sleep

felicityheather · 13/01/2021 07:32

Sorry to hear about all the late night/early morning stresses. @Fml2015 was that a sneaky friends reference?! (I have been binge watching it when I can't sleep!)

danigrace · 13/01/2021 07:34

@beckyBP me too! It's quite common in the first trimester - big surgeon progesterone makes us more tired in the day and harder to sleep/stay asleep at night! that combined with whenever I wake up I end up inevitably having to go for a wee!!

I'm 5+1 today which means little heart should have started beating! Very exciting Grin

beckyBP · 13/01/2021 07:40

@danigrace oh man! I thought no sleep started when they arrived 😂 worth it 🤍

Eeeek that's so exciting!!

beckyBP · 13/01/2021 07:41

@felicityheather @Fml2015 fuming at myself for missing that friends reference 😂

Ralala · 13/01/2021 08:08

Hi all,

I hear you all on the sleep front. Sleepy during the day. Got to bed about 8ish and then from 2 am I’m struggling to sleep arghhh! It’s just the hormones but it’s frustrating. I’m currently sat in bed . Hubby got the little one sorted this morning so I could have a longer lie. Bliss!

Jen435 · 13/01/2021 09:24

Hi all,

Can I join? Got a positive last night - bit unexpected as was first cycle off the coil and really wasn't expecting it so a little earlier than planned but obviously very excited, now at 4+2. First baby. How soon do you need to speak to your GP? Can't decide when to tell people - would like to tell my Mum early doors but equally don't want to get hopes up...

Summerloving2021 · 13/01/2021 09:43

Also in the no sleep club made worse by a non sleeping DD! Whoever said they sleep through when they turn one lied! 😭 @Jen435 congratulations! I had to self refer to the midwives online due to covid but it might be different depending on where you live.

Hopefulmummie · 13/01/2021 09:53

@Jen435 congratulations. I'm 4+1 so similar dates and 1st baby too. I had miscarriage 6 weeks ago and didn't have a period before getting pregnant again but dating from ovulation.

It's personal choice when you tell people. With our last pregnancy we were going to tell our immediate families after having a scan at 8 weeks but unfortunately I had miscarriage day before.
After that I thought if I ever got pregnant again I would tell family sooner cause I didn't like telling them I had a miscarriage and they didn't even know I was pregnant

danigrace · 13/01/2021 12:43

I just had my phonecall from the midwife. I'd emailed a self referral form that was on their website 10 days ago. She was on the phone for 20 minutes - took general details about who lives in household, asked about health conditions and previous births, asked about vitamins, gave diet and exercise advice, and explained what to expect from their antenatal care and what other support was available should it be necessary (prioritised talking therapies, women's health physio etc.).
Gave me my booking appointment for 25th Jan when I'll be 7+1 and said in the meantime they'll send me an information pack in the post. The appointment will be in the antenatal clinic at the hospital, partners allowed but doesn't affect us as he needs to stay home to look after our 3 & 1 year olds anyway!

@Jen435 if you want to tell just go for it, just say it's still very early days but I wanted to share it with you. ❤️

Fml2015 · 13/01/2021 12:45

It sure was 🤣🤣🤣

eihpos82 · 13/01/2021 12:45

Hello. Had my first BFP after 14 months of trying for our 1st. So I am now 4+6 due 16 September. I don't seem to be getting excited though, just so worried of mc (im 39). Wondering when it will hit me?

Fml2015 · 13/01/2021 12:47
**@felicityheather* @Fml2015* fuming at myself for missing that friends reference 😂
It sure was 🤣🤣 quite proud of that one!

danigrace · 13/01/2021 12:53

Sorry that should read partner's not allowed

danigrace · 13/01/2021 12:55

@eihpos82 congratulations! It's totally normal to feel anxious ❤️ try and focus on the fact that everything is okay today and take it one day at a time

eihpos82 · 13/01/2021 13:16

thank you @danigrace. yes one day at a time, I am impatient at the best of times!

sparklingstars12 · 13/01/2021 14:58

Hello can I join? I am due 14th Sep so am currently 5 + 1. I was feeling elated last week and now feel exhausted and sick and have forgotten how awful the first bit of pregnancy is! (Although totally worth it in the end!)

wrensandrobins · 13/01/2021 15:48

I have had my 8 week booking appointment and 12 week scan come through just a week apart, booking when I'm 11 weeks! Such a long time to wait!

Partners not allowed at mine either so I have booked a private scan for my partner the week before!
