Hi everyone,

I got my BFP on Christmas day and have been testing every other day with darker lines so it finally sinking it that there's definitely something in there!

Curiosity101 · 01/01/2021 16:40

@AHobbyaweek we're due date buddies! 😃. When I told DH about DS I did very similar and thrust the test under his nose at around 6am 😂.

This time I just gave him a little nudge to wake him up and let him know. I didn't show him the test until he was properly up and awake 😄

Jules2210 · 01/01/2021 16:59

@wednesdayrobyn congrats!! I’m the same, had a chemical last month so I’m still very cautious and not telling anyone apart from DH. Just trying to make it past the 5/6 week mark for now. How are you staying sane?

Scotti84 · 01/01/2021 17:33

Congrats guys on the BFPs and happy new year!

question from a first timer, is it the whole first 12 weeks that youre more likely to have an MC or does it lessen over the time?

I read today that the risk goes down after 6 weeks - fingers crossed that is true I'm counting the days at the moment!
Ralala · 01/01/2021 19:08

@Jules2210 I will just tweak my normal gym sessions. I normally do 2 x cardio per week and 2 X weight sessions. I won’t have to change much in the first trimester but will adjust as I go along like I did last time.

Curiosity101 · 01/01/2021 19:09

@Scotti84 There's specific milestones where certain developmental leaps occur and therefore you're more likely to experience a loss at those times rather than in between. I can't remember the specifics but I think you could look it up. 6 weeks is a big one.

Curiosity101 · 01/01/2021 19:13

@Scotti84 I found this quite useful for information / statistics. I wouldn't read too much if you're likely to stress yourself out with the figures/stats though.

VNttc · 01/01/2021 20:24

@curiosity101 that link is really helpful thank you!
Wishing away the next 3-4 weeks though!

Curiosity101 · 01/01/2021 20:29

@VNttc Me too. I don't want to rush into morning sickness. I was so so I'll last time. But I definitely want to get to my early scan and hopefully see that everything is progressing correctly.

I really wish there was a way to have babies without being pregnant. I find the whole thing is just one thing to stress about followed by another. 🙈🙉

VNttc · 01/01/2021 20:39

@curiosity101 I definitely didn't think last the whole conception bit - I was so focused on getting that bit right I didn't consider what would happen if I did get pregnant! Going to book my early scan for late January to put my mind at ease a little bit... For maybe a few days and I'll be back to worrying again! 😂😂

Scotti84 · 01/01/2021 20:55

@Curiosity101 thanks for the link, that’s really helpful. I’m 36 so it is on my mind but I’m trying to go with the do what I can from my side with a good diet etc and what is meant to be will be way of thinking.

@VNttc yep that’s where I am too! I don’t know why I didn’t consider the actual pregnancy stuff, fingers crossed everything’s ok for us all and everything goes to plan

VNttc · 01/01/2021 20:58

@scotti84 I think most of it really is out of our hands (except the obvious caffeine, alcohol, nicotine etc) which is why it's so hard! Feeling attached to this tiny little blob already 😭

Scotti84 · 02/01/2021 00:20

@VNttc thats exactly it, I don’t smoke and alcohol I can easily give up. I’ve switched to decaf and only drink a small weak coffee if I get headache. I’m aware of what I’m eating and am careful to make sure I get enough veggies and that. It has changed how I eat and that, but other than that stuff we just have to sit and wait. I was not prepared for this side of it at all! There’s so much stuff I wasn’t aware of from an emotional side, plus I’m up n down with my moods, sure that’s not helping. My poor other half, it’s good that he’s so relaxed 😂

Highfalutinlootin · 02/01/2021 08:37

Well, at exactly 5+1 today the "morning" sickness kicked in this evening. Not terrible and has come and gone in waves, but still uncomfortable if reassuring. I was not expecting it for another week. Anyone else?

Darklava09 · 02/01/2021 08:52

My cramps have been horrendous to the point they reduced me to tears yesterday. I couldn’t move for 2 hours and the pain was all in my back.
It seems everyone’s getting mild period like pain but mine seems so strong?? I don’t know wether to get checked out if it happens again today Sad

AHobbyaweek · 02/01/2021 08:54

@Highfalutinlootin in my first pregnant yet it seems to appear at about 4.5 weeks. Smells would set me off.

Monicadeniro · 02/01/2021 08:56

Hi all, nee on here. Congratulations to you all. I’m due 13th September. Very excited, this will be our second, first is 23 months. I had a missed miscarriage in May last year, so was over the moon with the positive PT. I am really nervous and am trying to to analyze every little cramp and pain. I am getting dull pains in my pelvic area and light cramping but sometimes discomfort. Also some pains in my leg that come and go. currently in 3wk 5 days? I know it might be nothing, I had the same with my first baby. Anyone else experiencing this?

wrensandrobins · 02/01/2021 09:02

@Highfalutinlootin I had morning sickness but disappeared the last few days! Sore boobs and a bloated tummy are my only symptoms.

I kind of miss the reassurance of the nausea 🤣

Wishing the next few weeks away so I feel a bit safer in this pregnancy

wrensandrobins · 02/01/2021 09:03

@Monicadeniro i am now 4+2 but last week I was getting loads of period style cramps and sharp pinches- all disappeared now

Monicadeniro · 02/01/2021 09:19

Thank you @wrensandrobins I’m consciously trying not to google every symptom! Good luck everyone

TinyPuds · 02/01/2021 11:02

Congrats everybody! It’s still early days for me as I haven’t missed my period yet but I’m getting strong lines on my hpts! 🤩

It’s SO EXCITING!! I’ve been watching videos all morning about the development of the baby from week 3 onwards.

I’ll be due roughly 16/17 Sept. Lovely end of summer babies 😍

There’s so much to plan 😭❤️

What’s the stance on exercise? I’m used to doing tabata, spinning and weights 4 times a week.. no idea what I can do safely now?! I did gentle stationary bike last week but I think I’ll get bored of that over the next 9 months 😅

Xxx

wednesdayrobyn · 02/01/2021 12:05

@Jules2210 Congratulations to you too! To be honest the news is still sinking in, I'm starting to feel really anxious but hopefully by the time I'm at the 6 week mark I can start to get excited. How are you feeling?

Jules2210 · 02/01/2021 12:45

@wednesdayrobyn I’m still not fully comprehending that I’m pregnant also because I want to protect myself from being horribly disappointed so it’s a little bit weird. I’m now 4w+4, feeling super fatigued but not many other symptoms, and waiting for early next week to hopefully get the 3+ on digital. I think I’ll only really give in when I hear a heartbeat at 7w (fingers crossed!). Did you book an early scan?

Scotti84 · 02/01/2021 13:12

So sorry to hear that @Darklava09. How are things today? I would go get checked out, it’s hard because no one wants to feel daft if everything’s fine n it’s normal but I always think when it comes to health better safe than sorry. I hope things calm down for you soon x
