@wrensandrobins fingers crossed, everything goes well for you. X
@noornie I have sent you a request x

Congratulations to all the new ladies joining the group. @scaredycat101 I have had similar on my left side and cramping the day my period was due. I think it is just the uterus stretching or implantation so not too worried. If the pain gets worse definitely ring gp.

My nausea is back this morning but otherwise feel well. Has anyone noticed their dh or oh being more protective since finding out? My dh keeps resting his hand on my belly, I keep telling him the bloat is due to all the bloody celebration boxes he has bought that I keep eating! I found him looking at bigger cars this morning, I had to tell him to reign it in as it is still early days yet.

Sceptre86 · 30/12/2020 07:21

@kitQ hope your appointment goes well.

felicityheather · 30/12/2020 07:35

Congrats @Spin4Gin!

@wrensandrobins I'm so pleased. Yes! Hide that thermometer and try to give yourself a break from worrying for a bit!

My nausea started this morning!

VNttc · 30/12/2020 07:37

@sceptre86 my DP has been so sweet since we found out... Keep telling me I'm beautiful (even though I'm all spotty), bought me some decaff diet coke ❤️ and just keeps hugging me more than usual :)

@wrensandrobins - I think I remember you from another thread! So glad you got your bfp too! I stopped temping when I got mine because I knew it would drive me crazy!

Managed to sleep all the way through last night rather than waking up at 4am and staying awake :)

ame88 · 30/12/2020 07:49

Hi all!! I'm watching both this thread and the august thread as I've worked out my potential due date is late august/early September! Currently 5+3 and counting the days till my early scan (booked 19th jan) I feel like the days are going sooo slow!
Not too many symptoms apart from sore boobs, thirsty and terrible sleep!! Looking forward to hearing all your stories!

eb1989 · 30/12/2020 08:02

@KitQ so glad you got checked out and your ok! How're you feeling today?

@Spin4Gin @VNttc @ame88 @Aila84 @DoomsDayB3ar
Congratulations everyone and welcome ❤️

eb1989 · 30/12/2020 08:04

@wrensandrobins amazing news! Now put the thermometer down and try to relax 💕

Scotti84 · 30/12/2020 08:37

There’s so much going on on here! It’s so nice to see so many people with all the questions I have too! Hope everyone’s doing ok today!

Anyone struggling with appetite? I can’t face much food, especially in the morning. The nausea comes in the afternoons for me but I just can’t eat anything, and I’m a grazer, so this is really unusual

Charlab · 30/12/2020 08:41

Morning all. I am watching this thread as well as August as I'm due very end of Aug / early Sept!

@Scotti84 I'm managing to eat ok but my appetite has reduced. My nausea comes out of nowhere, one minute I'm fine and the next I'm heaving like I'm going to be sick! I feel like I've got a constant mild hangover, anyone else?!

KitQ · 30/12/2020 08:45

Doctors giving me a call this morning :) looking forward to getting the ball rolling.

leftitlate37 · 30/12/2020 08:55

blimeu @KitQ! so glad the ambulance folk were happy enough to leave u to sort with GP, but that must have been a surprise when they sent that! defo agree with the others, worth getting checked out.
@wrensandrobins great news!
not many symptoms here, just keep getting a nasty taste in my mouth that then goes.
congrats to everyone else just joining!

wrensandrobins · 30/12/2020 09:14

The nausea has been quite mild for me so far but certainly getting more in the late afternoon early evening!

Scaredycat101 · 30/12/2020 09:30

Morning all! Wow so many new people, congrats @Aila84 @DoomsDayB3ar @Spin4Gin and @ame88 🥳! It's so hard to keep track but lovely to see more bfps.

@wrensandrobins What a relief!! So glad everything is looking good, definitely hide that thermometer! 😂

@Spin4Gin So sorry to hear about your previous losses, this is such a blessing for you! I'm having very similar symptoms, no nausea yet but I bet it'll start as soon as I'm back on the train to work next week 🥲.

@Sceptre86 Thats reassuring, I've had ovary pain before so was panicking a bit! Will definitely keep an eye on it tho 👀. DH is definitely being more sweet and cuddly which is always welcome! I did a CB weeks test yesterday (picked the wrong one up, huff) and he was psyched to see 3+ bless him! I think I may have shares in that company now.

Ahaha brilliant, we missed out on celebrations this year but I'm being left with a tub of roses so DH keeps finding trails of wrappers everywhere 🤭...

@KitQ Hope the GP appointment goes okay and @Raffie13 yours is this afternoon I think?

felicityheather · 30/12/2020 09:31

Nive to hear so many dh/dp's are so excited. Mine has become slightly distant and stressed which is a bit upsetting. He's a worrier anyway. He says he's not sure how he'll cope with two, but he's a brilliant dad. I was also really ill during my pregnancy with my son and that was hard on both of us before we had a toddler...

JollyHollyFolly · 30/12/2020 09:36

Just catching up on all the new activity.

@wrensandrobins so glad your temp went back up. Must have been a scary time!

@KitQ hoping appointment goes well today for you :)

Congratulations on all the new BFPs.

I am apparently 5 weeks today and haven't really done anything. I have only done one test, haven't been charting any temps or anything like that, haven't called the Dr yet. It doesn't feel real and I'm scared making it real will jinx it. I don't remember having these feelings with my first but I was early 20s then so I think I was a lot more naïve to things not always working out and I was just excited. Now I've got a lot more knowledge plus my general anxiety has got a lot worse since then. Going to try and pull my finger out and call them today or tomorrow though.

Symptoms-wise- it's only really sore boobs and tiredness so far. I do feel queasy but I feel that a lot with anxiety so don't know if it is pregnancy related yet. I've got really chapped lips too- not sure whether that is related either.

KitQ · 30/12/2020 09:59

Very disappointed following my GP call :(

She said I should call back when I’m 7 weeks (I’m 4 weeks 3 days) and then they’ll refer me to a midwife and first midwife appointment won’t be until 10 weeks! It seems like such a way away before anyone’s going to see me. And apparently if I get any bleeding I CAN call them but that’s also something I can deal with at home. It’s my first pregnancy, I need reassurance and proper information. Very sad.

I’m just very glad that we booked the early private scan. I’ll be 7 weeks and 2 days. I think I’ll call the GP the day after that once I know if everything’s ok in there.

Jules2210 · 30/12/2020 10:04

Hi all, hoping I can join you! I had quite a few positive tests in the last few days with the line getting darker (should be 4w + 1 now) so am hopeful that this is it. I did have a chemical pregnancy last month at 19 DPO so cannot quite enjoy it yet @Cornertakenquickly so I know exactly how you feel!
My GP just told me to self-refer to St Mary's hospital, that's it?! Very confused as this is my first pregnancy

Scotti84 · 30/12/2020 10:07

@Charlab the first couple of weeks, before I knew I was pregnant I had that migraine feeling too. Not so strong that I needed to go sleep for two days but definately on the annoying side of uncomfortable, that has eased off now, probably also the hormones changing and that.

@KitQ oh sorry to hear that, that is disappointing. Would have been nice for a bit more info, I think it’s so routine to them that they forget what it’s like for first timers like us who literally have no clue how things will or should be. Especially when things are different anyway atm, a bit more reassurance would be nice. At least you have the scan to look forward to, that will put your mind at rest a bit.

Tottington · 30/12/2020 10:18

Hi all,
Congratulations on your lovely news! I just got a positive this morning so hoping I can slope into the club.

This will (hopefully) be our third and last. We have DS & DD with a 16 month age difference who will make the best big siblings the world has ever seen (no bias there whatsoeverWink).

I've had a bit of brown/old blood discharge on 28th and again this morning which I didn't have with previous pregnancies (including those that ended in MC). So I'm finding that odd even with the reassurance of google.

Good luck, everyone. Let's hope it's a smooth ride and hospitals will be normal by September!

September 2021!
Scaredycat101 · 30/12/2020 11:20

@KitQ So sorry that you had a naff GP call! Think @Scotti84 is right in saying that it just be so routine for them (and also still mid pandemic) so they forget how anxious we all are!

I wonder whether you could call your local EMU if you have any questions, especially as the GP wasn't very forthcoming? I've looked on my local nhs service and they say to call either once you find out you're expecting.

10 weeks seems so far away, bet you're relieved you've booked an early scan to check in beforehand! I've just spoken to DH about it and I think we'll be booking one for 8/9 weeks as it sounds as though we won't get seen or reassured for a while!

@felicityheather Aw sorry to hear that, I'm sure he's just nervous and is taking it all in! Hopefully in a few days he'll become more excited ☺️. I've heard each pregnancy is different so fingers crossed this time round it'll be a lot better for you!

@JollyHollyFolly I hear you, I feel a bit like an imposter at the minute as it still feels like limbo! Cramping has stopped, boobs still killing but otherwise feel very normal, hope that's normal 🙃. Sending lots of positive vibes your way for when you give them a call 😀.

Ralala · 30/12/2020 12:40

@KitQ that sounds exactly like my trust. Booking in appt won’t be until at least 10 weeks and first scan at 12-14 weeks. We can self refer to the midwife but they aren’t interested until at least 7 weeks, ideally 8 weeks. EPU - more chance of getting an invite to Buckingham palace for tea and cake rather that getting any info or help from them. Sorry to sound abit cynical but I had my first but during a pandemic and the service wasn’t exactly gold star

Rice1992 · 30/12/2020 12:41

It seems like they don’t see you until ‘sh*t gets real’ around the 8/9 week mark. I did the econsult thing last night to just say I’m pregnant, and they replied this morning saying they’ve put me on the midwife list, and I got a call from her this morning. She’s booked me in for 20th Jan for my first appointment with her, and I’ll be about 8 weeks at that point. Seems like it’s a fingers crossed waiting game until that point!

VNttc · 30/12/2020 13:19

Glad to see other people are feeling relatively normal at this point as well!
I've just got a dry throat today and slight cramps but that's all! Officially one day missing my period now 😊

Will wait a few more weeks before contacting doctors I think just in case :)

2020mc · 30/12/2020 14:01

Hey ladies. I seem to get intermittent cramps like period cramps. Anyone else getting them? I suppose it makes sense becuase there's a lot going on down there but still very unsettling. Line still getting stronger on frer and no bleeding so hoping it's all normal 🤞scan booked for 6 weeks with my fertility clinic so 🤞

Scotti84 · 30/12/2020 14:10

@2020mc I’m having those as well, in some way I find them confirming that somethings still going on in there, but mine aren’t anywhere near as strong as my normal period cramps. I’ve been itching a bit as well, not sure if that’s related or I just don’t agree with the washing powder. It’s hard not to read everything as a symptom atm isn’t it!
