Is around who's due in April 2021? How are you feeling?

I was in a thread on here in early pregnancy, dropped off when I joined the buddies Facebook group, I'm still in it but its not really for me.... I miss having a place to go to chat pregnancy though.

Morning ladies.

Sorry to hear about the GD struggles, sounds rubbish! Not long to go now though. A friend had it and found eggs were great as they lowered her reading. May be worth a try.

I had the anti d last time and am due to have it again next week. Was absolutely fine, please don't worry. Trying to find a vein for a blood test is worse, imo.

WalrusWife · 30/01/2021 12:06

I had a funny week this week. Had my 28 week midwife appointment and the midwife was concerned because I was feeling funny and baby had a high heart rate, so did I and my BP was raised. Off to the MAU I went. Everyone was SO nice. Spent a few hours being monitored, bloods and urine clear, baby fine so I was allowed to go home.

Had a glucose tolerance test, I don’t have the results yet but I did get a voicemail left about being anaemic and needing iron tablets.

Hi ladies,

Would anyone mind if I joined in? So sorry I'm late to the party..but feel like I have no one to share my experiences with!
32 weeks today, due April 4th! First baby ♥️
Xx

Rh8781 · 31/01/2021 08:28

Welcome @JTB123! Congratulations! How has your pregnancy been going so far?

JTB123 · 31/01/2021 09:09

@Rh8781 31 weeks today even (not 32! 🤣)
Yes it's been fairly straight forward so far!! Having extra growth scans due to my bump measuring 3 weeks ahead everytime I go to the midwife! But measuring bang on when they scan me! 👌🏼

I had a low lying placenta at my 20 week scan so have another next Tuesday to confirm whether it has moved or not 🤞🏼 I've heard the rate of it moving is pretty high so should be ok

Xx

Not late at all. I’m pleased you followed my link. Welcome!
Saffy901 · 31/01/2021 10:20

Hi ladies,

Thank you for the link on the other thread @GreySkyClouds ☺️ Hope you don’t mind me joining in!

I’m 30 weeks with a little boy (first baby) 💙

Hope you’re all doing well xxx

JTB123 · 31/01/2021 13:43

Has anyone had braxton hicks and are able to explain to me what exactly it feels like??!
Unsure if I've felt them today or not! 😂 when I read about it, it says your stomach goes hard but I'm always unsure if that's just baby's back or something?!

MsHedgehog · 31/01/2021 14:36

@Rh8781

OMG yes! I had the exact same thing over the past 10 days. I actually called the MAU on Tuesday and explained the baby is definitely moving, but he's not kicking anymore and his patterns have changed (for example, for around two months I've not been able to lie on my right side as he hates it and kicks me like crazy whereas I've started to be able to sleep on that side with no issues).

Went in where they monitored him for half an hour and said he's fine.

Then they said that he's getting bigger and he has less space, so there are fewer kicks and punches because he has no room and more shuffling around and poking!

Funny that you've noticed it too!

MsHedgehog · 31/01/2021 14:38

@Inkpaperstars Thank you so much for sharing! I was in two minds about it, as I couldn't find much about it, but that link was extremely useful! Will avoid!

@GreySkyClouds and others who have mentioned the Sleepyhead? Is that safe? I thought they were associated with higher risk of SIDS, but they still seem popular!

ChezNous · 31/01/2021 15:02

Hi All.
Would love to join the thread to swap experiences and just to feel a little less lonely. I am 47 years old with my first and live in France. Little boy due 6th April 2021 so I'm 32 weeks tomorrow. It was a spontaneous pregnancy and nothing short of a miracle after a failed IVF journey. The pregnancy has been very hard however and not made any easier by stressing over an excess of amniotic fluid and having to navigate the French health system in a foreign language.
Hope you are all well and enjoying the nesting at least! Looking forward to swapping stories.
Xx

Catlady21 · 31/01/2021 16:20

We used a sleepy head for our first two and it was a godsend for sleeping! We just took it out as soon as they began rolling to remove the risk of SIDS.

Catlady21 · 31/01/2021 16:23

Hi, I have also been told I have excess fluid. I have had some blood taken for them to try and rule out reasons for this and have been referred to fetal medicine for scans to check baby's development in more depth, to check to see if all is well with baby's swallowing reflex.

Rh8781 · 31/01/2021 16:50

@JTB123 I think I’ve had them twice in the last week. The first time was shortly after dinner and I just thought I’d eaten too much (even though it wasn’t a particularly big meal). It was almost like a stitch pain but it went right across my belly and my bump went very tight. I walked around the house for 5ish mins just to change position and it went away. It was very different to the round ligament pain I get which is further down my bump and doesn’t usually go away straight away when I move about.

@MsHedgehog I’m glad it’s not just me! I’d started to get used to the kicks and was expecting stronger ones, when all of sudden 90% of my movement now is just rolls! Pretty sure I had either a leg or an arm pushed against my belly yesterday and when I pressed back he quickly moved! Grin

Inkpaperstars · 31/01/2021 17:06

@MsHedgehog @Rh8781 I have had a similar thing with movement and also went in to be checked out. It’s funny about the lying on the right side, I also get more movement then but I was thinking that might mean she liked it! Grin Wishful thinking there I think as I am comfier that side.

Inkpaperstars · 31/01/2021 17:09

@ChezNous that’s almost my due date too though I won’t be going to it for various reasons. It must be really hard navigating the system in an unfamiliar language, it’s hard enough anyway! Congrats on your pregnancy x

Wavesandsmilesencore · 31/01/2021 17:13

Hi everyone and a welcome to everyone just joining the past day or so. Waves from across the border to @ChezNous. I’m also nervous about the giving birth element especially in a foreign language. It’s not my first, but my first baby not in British system. Here it’s consultant led care and blood tests every month! I’m glad that the latest showed I don’t have GD (the drink is as horrid here as it was back home), but I am anaemic now so on iron supplements. I had my monthly appointment yesterday and as usual the consultant did a scan, she’s worried that the baby is measuring small so She’s arranging for a more thorough scan ASAP next week. I’m a bit worried, but at least things are being addressed quickly in case there is any issue. Only 2 weeks left at work since it’s prohibited to work after 32 weeks, and I’m really looking forward to a bit of a rest!

Smiths84 · 31/01/2021 18:55

I’ve just seen this thread, I’ve just hit 31 weeks yesterday, due on 3rd April, it’s just nice to hear from others who are due around the same time, especially with COVID and not being able to attend the usual classes

BaaHumbugg · 31/01/2021 19:09

Welcome to all the newbies! I am amazed and relieved we are in February tomorrow, that means one step closer to not being pregnant and uncomfortable woo hoo!

I wonder if this stage you start eating more? I don't remember from last time, not been overeating really during this pregnancy but I did today and I'm paying for it now!

JTB123 · 31/01/2021 19:10

I've also noticed less kicks and more like internal movements, didn't even think to get it checked out 😳

morningcuppatea · 31/01/2021 19:40

Hi Everyone, I'm due on 10th April, I've been having a rollercoaster pregnancy so never really dared comment on these threads but things are starting to look better now and the next 10 weeks will fly by (if we make it that far!)

Is anyone else suffering with heartburn? It's my only complaint at the moment really apart from tiredness and pelvic pain when I've done too much.

GreySkyClouds · 31/01/2021 19:40

I think they’re okay for supervised day time sleeping, but not at night because of sids.

MinnieWebs · 01/02/2021 09:32

@morningcuppatea yes my heartburn is awful particularly through the night.

Has anyone started packing their hospital bags/when will you?

UnicornAndSparkles · 01/02/2021 10:40

Another heartburn sufferer here. I keep a huge bottle of gaviscon liquid by the bed, I find it works quicker than the tablets.

My midwife told me to pack a bag at 30 weeks last time, baby arrived at 39. I felt very early doing that! Most of my friends were told 33-35 weeks but tbh you'll have plenty of time even if you go into labour and have to pack it then and there, just have a list ready.

morningcuppatea · 01/02/2021 11:50

Oh yes it's awful during the night, if I need to move positions that's when it seems to start.

I have to take aspirin every day for low Papp-a and I read that you can't take Gaviscon with that so I'm just sticking with rennies and trying to control it with my diet, natural yoghurt and Apples seem to help a bit.

I was told last week to think about packing my hospital bag, I'm expecting to be staying in for a few days so want to get some cosy loungewear, it's starting to all feel very real!
