@Nellle oh I feel for you! Good luck tomorrow, the relief you’ll feel once you’re there is amazing! X

@ChasingARainbow @MarshallCleo we had NIPT done (not gender) and got results in a week exactly

maloney123 · 02/12/2020 21:46

When are people planning on starting to buy stuff for the baby? Thinking about trying to get some of the bigger bits in January sales which will be around 18 weeks

ChasingARainbow · 02/12/2020 21:49

@maloney123 I called the lab today and they said they are emailing the results out tomorrow afternoon and will send a paper copy in the post. Hoping for good news and will feel like we've crossed another hurdle once we have those results. Your results came though nice and quickly, mine will be 9 working days x

SarahTTC2020 · 02/12/2020 22:30

@maloney123 I've been too scared to buy anything, it hasn't felt real enough yet 🙈 I can imagine not buying anything and then it'll come at 36 weeks or something and we will have nothing for it 😂

PinkPlantCase · 03/12/2020 08:41

@maloney123 I’ve started knitting 😂 I am a knitter anyway.

I think we’ll start to think about furniture at around Easter. I keep thinking that we don’t actually need that much.

Edelweiss2020 · 03/12/2020 10:31

I bought a couple of little things in the sales but not got any of the big stuff yet. Had a brief look into different prams, car seats and all that jazz, got confused and decided it can wait!

Getting mad at people who keep saying to me ‘oh you’re past 12 weeks now, you must be feeling better’ and I’m over here still exhausted all the time and still struggling with nausea like ‘shushhhh’ 😂

LBee2020 · 03/12/2020 10:48

Hi guys. I am 11 weeks today with 12 week scan a week today. Stupid question, but how are you finding the sex out so early? I thought I had to wait for the 20 week scan? I have opted in for all screening tests so can I find out the gender as part of that?

First time pregnancy here so have no clue on how everything works!

Mackie2020 · 03/12/2020 11:42

@LBee2020 you can find out the sex early if you pay for NIPT, like Harmony, or a private scan from about 18 weeks. If you're having routine scans and screening with the NHS, you can find out at your anomaly scan at around 20 weeks.

Jinglebells87 · 03/12/2020 11:45

I have bought a travel system in the black Friday sales! I got £125 off so I felt I couldn't miss out. The returns policy said by end of 31st January and I will be past my 20 week scan by then.
@LBee2020 - people that pay for the private nipt test can find out the sex early. If, like me, you are just having the normal nhs screening test (which is baby measurements along with blood tests at 12 week scan) then you don't get to find out until the 20 week scan. Hope that helps Smile!

MrsV2018 · 03/12/2020 13:40

@LBee2020 I'm finding out the gender at 16 weeks. But have to go to a private scan. I just can't wait to find out

MimiDaisy11 · 03/12/2020 13:49

Hello all, my due date was mid-June but after 12 week scan I've been moved to start of June so still in this group :)

Firsttimeconcerns · 03/12/2020 17:51

Hi all, Just wondering when people received appointment letter for their 12 week scan?? I am coming up to 11 weeks and not heard anything yet. Thanks

Sweetmad · 03/12/2020 19:15

@Firsttimeconcerns I got mine at around 8 weeks. If you’ve had your booking appointment you should have received one by now. Maybe contact the maternity department that you’ve registered with? They should be able to appoint for you Smile

Firsttimeconcerns · 03/12/2020 19:18

@Sweetmad thank you - I will do Smile

Nellle · 03/12/2020 19:53

12 week scan done and all looks well. Such a huge relief and feels like a weight is off my shoulders.

Hoping I can try to relax into this now.

Snally82 · 03/12/2020 20:38

NIPT test results just back (4 day turnaround!!) and all good news! Plus we found out we’re having a baby girl!

ChasingARainbow · 03/12/2020 21:45

Our NIPT results were back today too, we're having a girl too 💗

lucieloos · 03/12/2020 22:02

PinkPlantCase · 04/12/2020 08:06

Such happy news everyone Grin congrats!

Tatty1987 · 04/12/2020 08:15

Congratulations everyone, so many girls 💗

PurpleishDahlia · 04/12/2020 09:04

Had the harmony test and a scan yesterday, waiting for the results now. It was lovely seeing the little one dancing around, I never knew how active they are this early (11 weeks).
Congratulations to those who've had their results back, hope you're able to relax and enjoy it now :)
Have you all started sleeping on your side yet? I'm shopping around for pillows as I mostly sleep on my back and I want to get to used to it. Off to work (from home, very cold and unmotivated).

SarahTTC2020 · 04/12/2020 10:10

@PurpleishDahlia I tend to sleep on a side anyway so it's been ok although I switch sides several times a night. Yeah maybe try a pillow to help you then 😊
