@Terryrose I had to go a couple of times in my last pregnancy. They took blood pressure and tested my wee but didn't take blood.

Snally82 · 05/01/2021 12:20

Mine were taken at 12 weeks and due again at 28 weeks.

Unless any issues, that should be it I believe

Burningbenches · 05/01/2021 12:22

@fishingforhappiness also a babyjogger lover here. I have the city mini GT too and I bought the deluxe carrycot to go on top when DS was a baby.

I walk my 3 dogs with it. It's so so easy to fold. I had the most lovely silvercoss sleepover with my 2nd but folding it reduced me to tears.

Humpty11 · 05/01/2021 13:11

@TerryRose I also had a consultant appointment today for previous pre eclampsia and they just checked my urine and blood pressure, and then listened to the heartbeat. My midwife said that the bloods being taken will still be as they usually do them, which I think is again at 32 weeks or something, unless my BP goes up or my urine shows protein.
I hope your appointment went well.

Humpty11 · 05/01/2021 13:12

28 weeks (sorry)

Waitingforbabypage · 05/01/2021 13:57

Like most of you, my OH couldn't come to the 12 weeks scan. He was really looking forward to the 20 week scan- does lockdown change that?

I know it changes the rest of our plans of pram shopping and buying boy or girl stuff, but ultimately that doesn't matter- that can be done online or when we eventually come out of lockdown.

Burningbenches · 05/01/2021 14:13

@waitingforbabypage I don't know. My trust posted last night that 36wk ones would be affected but not the other two. It's an evolving situation though so I just don't know. I'm going alone anyway, as again we have no childcare. I'd hoped to go private for my 20wk but because of my bleed the MW said to go NHS and has also referred to fetal medicine.

lucieloos · 05/01/2021 15:20

@Waitingforbabypage our partners are still allowed to come to the 12 and 20 week scans but nothing else.

Waitingforbabypage · 05/01/2021 16:15

Thanks for the replies, I'm really hoping it's still ok for the 20 weeks scan round here. Like I said, that's the only thing we're worried about. Shopping can wait and I'm alright doing all other appts on my own. X

PinkPlantCase · 05/01/2021 17:37

I’m having a covid test tomorrow and I’m so scared 😟 I have trouble with my breathing anyway but I have been coughing more so thought I should get checked.

I WFH, we did see the in-laws at Christmas but they live rurally and don’t go out. DH goes to the supermarket once a week but that’s the only kind of leaving the house (apart from a walk) that we do!

I really hope I don’t have it, what I have wrong with my breathing already is really niche and I’ve only met 1 doctor that knew how to treat it appropriately. When ive had to go to A&E in the past I’ve relied heavily on having someone else there to advocate for me. Its going to be such a ball ache if i have Covid and need medical help.

Sorry I’m 18 weeks today and just need a bit of a hand hold.

Burningbenches · 05/01/2021 18:08

@pinkplantcase, thinking of you lovely xx

Humpty11 · 05/01/2021 18:36

@PinkPlantCase thinking of you, I hope it turns out to be nothing to worry about. It sounds like the chances of it being covid are low 🤞🏼

TerryRose · 05/01/2021 19:38

@Humpty11 @Snally82 @Burningbenches
Thank you for your advice, I had left the hospital when I got a call from them saying I was meant to get bloods taken but not to worry as no one had informed me and they can do it at my 20
Week scan in a few weeks and it's just for iron anyways so not to panic

@PinkPlantCase best of luck with that, must be a worry but sure you'll be fine x

TerryRose · 05/01/2021 19:39

@Waitingforbabypage it's so hard isn't it , my
Hospital are currently allowing partners in for the 20 scan but it could change by time I have my appointment in February, it's so tough like and feel so sorry for the partners , he hasn't seen baby since 7 week scan

Snally82 · 06/01/2021 07:37

Just had confirmation Hampshire hospitals are still allowing partners

Waitingforbabypage · 06/01/2021 08:06

👍🏻 excellent.
LemonRizzle · 06/01/2021 08:34

Had my 20 week scan yesterday (a normal looking wiggly baby), no mention of any rule changes but it's anyone's guess! Glad that's one less thing to have to worry about. Hopefully you're all still allowed partners, I personally think it's important for their bonding/involvement as well as support should anything not be as planned

TerryRose · 06/01/2021 11:42

@LemonRizzle that's brilliant Grin

TerryRose · 06/01/2021 11:43

Any weird cravings ? For me in the last week or so I have to have a banana and Nutella sandwich 🙈 today I put it in the George foreman for a few minutes 🙈😂

Nesski · 06/01/2021 11:55

@TerryRose just ketchup with all my dinners!! Haven't felt the urge to put it on my chocolate bars yet!

northerngal20 · 06/01/2021 12:02

@LemonRizzle pleased to hear it went well! i completely agree on the bonding - my partner would be so gutted if he wasn't allowed in, partly cause he wants to support me but also because he's just as excited/nervous/keen to see the baby as i am. my trust is currently allowing partners for the 20 week scan only, so i'm really hoping that doesn't change before ours in a few weeks' time.

@TerryRose i weirdly really want a ham sandwich! and annoyingly i think that's one of things you're not allowed (does it count as a deli meat?) so i'm just going to have to wait!

lucieloos · 06/01/2021 12:16

@northerngal20 you can eat ham while pregnant! By deli meats they mean cold cured meats like salami, pepperoni, chorizo and prosciutto unless cooked through so enjoy your ham sandwich!

Nesski · 06/01/2021 12:18

@lucieloos ham wraps and sandwiches were the only things I could eat during my first trimester, it was because it was cold!

northerngal20 · 06/01/2021 12:28

what! this is a game changer! Grin

BlondePotter · 06/01/2021 15:07

Oh @northerngal20 I feel so bad for you going this long without ham! I've eaten loads of it over Christmas

Anyone else feel completely not pregnant? I have my 20 week scan in 10 days and I'm.hoping there's still a baby in there as I wouldn't be able to tell whatsoever!
