@LP15132 oh wow! That's such a good deal!
I'm trying to convince OH to just go for it! (He won't, he's far too sensible!)
I love that colour, I'm a bit shocked at how different the colour is comparing my the website to a picture of a secondhand one.

We got a really good deal on a tommee tippee steriliser bundle, from the actual website. Has the steriliser, bottles, pump, nipple cream and pads and various accessories etc for a really decent price. Definitely worth having a look.

Humpty11 · 03/01/2021 14:46

@LemonRizzle that’s really good that the GP didn’t even question it. Hopefully it brings some relief for you!
I was on omeprazole pre pregnancy for a possible Malory Weiss tear caused by too much vomiting when I was pregnant with my son so I might speak to them about doubling up the dose or if there’s anything like ranitidine instead that I could take. There’s definitely some foods that make it worse but it’s all the things I fancy eating 😂🤦🏼‍♀️.

@TerryRose I thought the exact same this morning about the size of my bump but thinking I feel less bloated today so it’s probably that!

LP15132 · 03/01/2021 15:03

@Waitingforbabypage
My OH pulled a face when it came in £300 over the first one we saw 😅 but he said he trusted that I'd picked the right one!

Yeah the colour has photographed so differently than IRL! But it's really lovely in person I can't wait now!

Thanks I'll check that out 🥰

Waitingforbabypage · 03/01/2021 15:19

I did something really daft, I lifted a heavy box of plates. Got a sudden pounding head so put the box down but now feel like utter poop- a bit dizzy, a bit headachy, just....rubbish.
Should I just chill and take it easy? Or should I be ringing someone?

Snally82 · 03/01/2021 15:41

@Waitingforbabypage sip some water and lay down for half an hour or so x

Lovethatjourneyforme · 03/01/2021 19:55

@TerryRose mine really felt like it went way down/disappeared for a good week. Its popped back out a bit today though. Think it's just down to growing and position etc, I'm sure your little one is absolutely fine and will be showing again soon 😊

TerryRose · 04/01/2021 11:32

@Lovethatjourneyforme
@Humpty11 @Dragonfly92 thanks girls, it's good to know I'm not only one with a bump that does it's own thing 😂

Just had scan there, dating me 4 days ahead but I assume that's normal so 17 weeks and 4 days , he said everything looked perfect and because we are doing the NIPT and have asked to find out the gender he told me that he's 90% sure it's a girl so absolutely delighted , didn't mind either way but just like knowing myself now .

Snally82 · 04/01/2021 11:43

@Waitingforbabypage hope you’re feeling better?

Waitingforbabypage · 04/01/2021 12:45

Thanks @Snally82 I feel much better today. Spent the rest of the day with my feet up and I'm having a very chilled day today. X

Ivybutterfly · 04/01/2021 14:08

You are all so prepared. I bought our first pram on my actual due date. The John Lewis staff were giving me funny looks when they asked when I was due and I was like, oh, today. Lol. X

TerryRose · 04/01/2021 14:31

@Ivybutterfly love it ! I always try to be organised but always run out of time 😂

Jinglebells87 · 04/01/2021 15:51

@swiftt - sorry I'm a bit late to pram conversation but saw you were interested in the Joie Versatrax. This is what we have gone for and it was on sale on Mama and Papas website (£100 off) for the whole bundle (pram/pushchair/carseat/adaptors/raincover) plus if you sign up to emails you get a further £25 off. I assume it will go in and out of the sale so might be worth keeping an eye out Smile. In the end it cost us just over £400 which was a bargain! Still waiting for the carrycot to be delivered though as it has been held up! We ordered end of November!!

swiftt · 04/01/2021 15:51

@Jinglebells87 ooh fab, thanks for that! It’s definitely my front runner at the moment as seems much better value than some others.

@lucieloos

Anyone else had sharp pains all over stomach?
Yes, it bloody hurts!
lucieloos · 04/01/2021 17:40

@curiouscat1987 definitely found heat helped to ease mine

Jinglebells87 · 04/01/2021 18:42

@swiftt it was the huge basket that sold it for meGrin! I will be able to fit a lot of shopping under there!
I haven't even taken it out of the box yet, I'm waiting until my 20 week scan which is next week!

swiftt · 04/01/2021 18:47

@Jinglebells87 did you test it in a shop? How heavy was it? I live in a first floor flat but would plan to keep chassis in car most of the time, worried I’ll struggle with the weight of some of them!

OP posts:
Jinglebells87 · 04/01/2021 19:14

@swiftt no I have never even seen one in person! It was a total gamble but I will update you next week when I have opened it up and had a test run. I think weight wise it wasn't too bad. Not the lightest but not the heaviest either.
It's so difficult not having shops nearby to test. My closest would have been Mothercare but it is such a shame they have closed. Although it wasn't the cheapest place it was nice to be able to go and see the products in person!

swiftt · 04/01/2021 19:16

@Jinglebells87 I think that’s what I’m going to end up doing anyway hah! Please update me when you’ve had a wee test of it, would love to hear what you think of it. I almost gave in and ordered an Ocarro the other day cos the deal seemed really good, but it’s still more expensive than I’d like (600 without a car seat) and apparently quite heavy!

@swiftt @Jinglebells87 I'm pretty sure this is the one we're going to go for too! My sister had it with my nephew (can't remember) but she said she loved it & it's very reasonably priced imo!

Just doing everything to avoid the "c word" now... having just tested postitive and boris stressing us all out Confused. SO.... i've been pram shopping... i would like something okay for muddy tracks/woods to walk the dogs, but doesnt need to climb a mountain. That i can easily get in and out my boot and i can still take in the city and look nice... husband would like a travel system... so i was looking at all terrain ones. I fell in love with the silver cross pioneer which appeares to tick the boxes, then i read some reviews about the wheels getting stuck whilst manoovering up and down curbs. Anyone have any experiences!?.... on a wildly seperate note. My nipples as so sensitive and stingy... and remedies ?!

I got a baby jogger city mini GT with my last and have saved it so will be using again this time round. I spent alot of money on a fancy pretty pram from Mamas and Papas with my first (12 years ago) and she HATED being in the pram so we hardly used it. When I had my second I purposely got one that the oldest could also fit in (she was 5 by then and liked to be carried everywhere) so I could carry the baby and put her in the buggy if things went the same way. It lays flat so suitable for newborns but the only thing I didn't like was that it was front facing when she was a newborn. That said, I preferred it as she got older because I felt like if they could see me they were more likely to make a fuss being in the pram. It was a great outdoor pram and lasted till my youngest was way too old for it. Pretty light and super easy to fold and carry, so as a long term investment it saved me buying a buggy when she got older. Sorry that was very long! but that was my experience anyway. I would love to get a new convertible one this time around but just can't justify spending the money when we have such a good one stored away.

Also super sore stingy nipples - I don't have a solution but have found wearing a soft bra/crop top to bed helps

Jinglebells87 · 05/01/2021 07:01

@Flower3411 that's good to hear that your sister liked it! It's so difficult to know what to get.
With my first I bought an Oyster. It was lovely but one day out shopping, something went wrong with it and I couldn't collapse it to get it back in my car!! I was therefore stranded at an out of town retail park with a newborn and had to call my partner to pick it up in his 4x4!Confused

Humpty11 · 05/01/2021 07:16

@Fishingforhappiness I have the silver cross pioneer as I bought it second hand when I had my son. I absolutely love it but the front wheel does sometimes buckle if I don’t lift it up over the curb (even the slightest curb) but the person I bought it from has used it for her two children and then I’ve used it for my son too. I’ll definitely be using it for this baby because I don’t want to waste the money buying another one when it is a really good pram other than that. I just got used to making sure I lifted the front wheels up as I approached curbs. I think it might have actually happened when it snowed one day and we tried to get through the snow to the pub down the road 🤔.

Just wondering how often you get bloods taken at the hospital, I was in there today to meet with the consultant but never got bloods taken , it was quite busy and wondering now was I meant to stay around 🙈
