Thanks @Snally82 I'll see how things pan out for a bit x

Whywontitname · 01/01/2021 18:24

@Nellle yes it’s my first too so I’m feeling a bit worried about not getting seen for so long! If they usually check urine etc at these points why do they suddenly not need to now? I’ve also got a potential kidney issue and they’ve asked me to get my blood pressure done as much as possible but not had it done because no one has seen me! I think it’s fine to say something to the midwife as how else are we going to get heard. I said something at my 16 week that I’d not spoken to or seen my named midwife yet and it was just brushed off.

As well no one called me for my booking in appointment (I did have an appointment!) and I had to ring round so many people trying to find out what was happening which upset me and I already feel a bit forgotten!

lucieloos · 01/01/2021 19:40

I put a heated rice bag on my stomach and it helped stop the pains really quickly if anyone else experiences them.

Penny2020 · 01/01/2021 19:58

Oooh @Snally82 and @swiftt, what prams did you go for? We’ve been looking but it’s a minefield and so hard without trying them, but some great deals so feels a shame not to go for it!

Snally82 · 01/01/2021 20:37

@Penny2020 we went with the Uppababy Cruz V2 :) I love it!

lucieloos · 01/01/2021 20:51

We have used the icandy peach for our first two children and absolutely love it. Will be using it for a final time with this one.

Waitingforbabypage · 02/01/2021 09:51

We're eyeing up the ocarro, but the ipeach looks really lovely! (I like their colour ways too)

Waitingforbabypage · 02/01/2021 09:52

Dur, icandy peach. 🤦🏼‍♀️

swiftt · 02/01/2021 09:55

@Penny2020 @Snally82 I was going to go for the Joie Chrome DLX but now torn between that, Joie Versatrax and the Ocarro. I’m looking for something middle of the range budget-wise, but it’s such a difficult decision without trying them out!

@swiftt I don’t think we’d have bought with trying them out, OH was leaning towards a Bugaboo until we tested them both so it really does help. Just annoying to not now know when you’ll be able to do that

AlRRRR · 02/01/2021 10:26

I’ve got a yoyo+ and bugaboo buffalo (for longer bumpy rides).

The yoyo is invincible, goes on aircrafts and even folds down into footwells for even more room. They do a newborn pack too that folds down with it and is lay flat. Couldn’t live without our yoyo 💕

Burningbenches · 02/01/2021 10:28

I'm planning to get a second hand babyjogger double. I already have the single and the bassinet but DS will be 22m and that's a bit little for school runs/dog walks as I'm always running late 😂 so I will want a double.

I had the same with my second and third and it was both affordable and good for getting through narrow doors, shops etc. I do use slings as well but I like the practicalities of a double, especially if I manage a double nap!

I do really recommend the single to anyone too!

lucieloos · 02/01/2021 10:32

@Waitingforbabypage yes and the good thing about the peach is it can convert to a double if you end up having 2 quite close together like we did.

Penny2020 · 02/01/2021 11:15

Yes @swiftt this is exactly the issue, it’s so hard without trying them. I was looking at the iCandy Peach as it’s what my sister had and it converts to a double and hoping to have a second pretty soon after this one (though might wait to see how I cope with one first!!!). I saw some places have really long return dates so did think I might risk buying it and then hoping tier 4 lifts to try some before before opening it. Bit cheeky, but a good deal is a good deal!!!

Tuey91 · 02/01/2021 13:23

I was going to buy a doona, never had one, always used Quinny Zapp extra with my other two children. Anyone had a doona and can give me so insight please? So annoying we can't try any!! X

TerryRose · 02/01/2021 17:56

Pram I've heard great things about is the uppa baby vista , definitely on the more expensive side but only hearing good things about it and we live in the country so a good sturdy buggy is definitely necessary , we will wait til 20 weeks before we look in the shops , 17 weeks Tuesday

LemonRizzle · 02/01/2021 19:36

@humpty11 I'm also getting acid reflux, it's foul. I've had it on and off some days it starts in the evening but most days nothing. I put an online request to my doctor for Omeprazole and they issued it no questions asked, didn't even call me. I use rennie which helps with indigestion but I don't find it does much for the actual reflux. You can get esomeprazole from the pharmacy but it's expensive and we may as well enjoy one of the pregnancy perks of free prescriptions lol

I really like the Venicci pure or soft buggy, had an appointment to view this week but we went in to tier 4 so was cancelled. I'm reluctant to order without folding and pushing myself. It's supposed to be really good for off roading but I don't know if it's better to get the travel system or just a basic cheaper buggy and separate car seat it's my first baby and it's totally mind boggling Confused

Have my 20 week scan in 3 days, can't wait to see the baby again! Only noticed a couple of bubble feelings this week which I assume is movement. As with some of you guys I have IBS made worse by pregnancy, constipation has become my life Angry

Tatty1987 · 03/01/2021 09:10

Never come across some of these pram makes so great to hear what you’re all considering!

We live in a rural area so looking for something robust and have leaned towards the Bugaboo Fox or Silver Cross Autograph - does anyone already have these prams? Would you recommend?

We’re prob going to buy after our 20 week scan which is in 5 weeks (due 28/06). Well that’s if we’re out of tier 4 then and we can go and have a try at them! We were booked in for a John Lewis Nursery appointment (free!) where a personal shopper shows you all the baby things and let’s you have a go at the prams/ car seats etc. A friend told me about it and I was quite looking forward to it...

TerryRose · 03/01/2021 13:09

Anyone else feel like their bump looks smaller some days to before ?! Maybe I'm just imagining it but can't help but worry 🙈

Snally82 · 03/01/2021 13:11

@TerryRose I thought that about mine the other day but I think it depends on what I eat/bloating in additional to bump etc!

TerryRose · 03/01/2021 13:20

@Snally82 thank you , you are probably right !! I'm just over analysing 😂

LP15132 · 03/01/2021 13:24

I haven't posted on this thread yet, but I'm due in June too :)

I put a deposit on my pram yesterday, as I'm still tier 3 so could go and push some to decide! I went for the M&P ocarro, really pleased with my choice. I would have liked to have held out a little longer but with the vid causing havoc i thought best to get it sorted before I'm back to work after the Xmas break.

I went to a shop near me called Babycare, they're based if Bradford and they were amazing! They have really good deals online as well, and they're a silver cross factory shop. Anyone in the West Yorkshire I would recommend going to see them it was such a great experience I left feeling like a pram expert ha!

Waitingforbabypage · 03/01/2021 13:28

Hi @LP15132 ooooh I am 95% sure we're going to get the ocarro! Did you get a bundle?

LP15132 · 03/01/2021 13:56

@Waitingforbabypage
Yeah I got the chassis, carry cot, seat, car seat with isofix base, foot muff, changing bag, adapters, drinks holder.... pretty much the whole shebang hahaha this is the link to the website of the place I got it from www.babycareonline.co.uk/product/mamas-papas-ocarro-teal/ they have two options I got the complete bundle which included the car seat. I went for the inky blue, it looks a bit bluer in real life compared to the pictures :) i had originally liked the ickle bubba stomp V4 and then I got a demo of the ocarro and the silver cross surf which I also really liked but the ocarro won me over haha

Dragonfly92 · 03/01/2021 14:04

@TerryRose I felt exactly the same last night. Got knocked over by my dog at the park so think it was partly paranoia too, but bump has definitely popped again today.
