I'm getting some pains if I move in bed too quick, I just lay really still until it settles.
I also used to have severe IBS and now have managed to get cured from it by diet and exercise. In pregnancy I can sometimes feel it creeping so I just get on top of it ASAP. Laying on my sides and flat on my back as soon as I get pains seem to help get the trapped wind moving ASAP.
I'm taking 4000 Vit D and Algae omega 3 capsules and they also seem to help!
I found that as long as my diet is on top form no pushing is required on the toilet and I used to have chronic constipation until I sorted it all out!
The exercised I do for it are the cat stretches and then pull legs up to tummy and then to the sides to release the air. Do this a few times and walk every 1-2 days slowly for about 1/2 hour/hour
Hope any of that helps. xx[/quote]
Thank you!! Pre pregnancy i was super healthy (experimenting with different stuff to improve my microbiome but mostly centred around a Mediterranean style diet and lots of exercise) - it helped it a little (but in fairness that could have also been due to reduced stress from wfh).
Unfortunately since then i literally cant stomach a lot of stuff and have been on a very beige diet :( hoping I'll get to a point of being able to manage healthy food again soon (and maybe even a walk!). Its a bit of a vicious cycle with the bad food ->feeling ill->no exercise->more bad food so i cant wait to get out of it!
I also take vit d (for a different medical condition). Not looked into algae, would be interested to know how that helps you if you dont mind sharing? Am on a ton of other tablets right now though (nothing hardcore, mostly supplements) so only want to introduce anything else if its really helpful!
Re the positions to help with trapped wind etc, the pain gets worse when i try to raise my knees. I really need to take up yoga again!
Oh, on that note, can any of you recommend anything for trapped wind that isnt peppermint (drunk it for years with little effect)?
