@Humpty11 Im consultant led and have an appt beginning of jan too. It's nothing exciting from what I can remember. Just discussing the risk factors with you, asking questions, form filling etc

Fightingtobepositive · 16/12/2020 19:06

Hi all can I join? I am 15 weeks, due in June. Ivf pregnancy and I’m a wreck over everything. I’ve had a little pink spotting today so proper freaking out at the moment anyone experienced similar?

Mackie2020 · 16/12/2020 19:48

@Fightingtobepositive just giving you a little wave because I'm an IVF pregnancy too 👋

Lovethatjourneyforme · 16/12/2020 22:34

We're keeping it a surprise 😊 would be quite disappointed if I worked it out from the scan so I hope we don't see anything at the 20 week one!

PurpleishDahlia · 17/12/2020 10:27

Good morning everyone!

I'm feeling very anxious over Christmas. I don't want to mix with anyone but as it's allowed we have no choice due to family politics. So it's decided we travel 4 hours on the train to stay with in-laws. I know everyone has different views on the matter and there are threads specifically for this topic but I wanted to share this little anxiety with people who could possibly relate a little - we have exhausted the topic with DH. Anyway, enough of that.

My 12 week scan is in 3 hours. If I come back with good news and a nice snap I will post :)

Sending best wishes to all of you 🌺

TerryRose · 17/12/2020 12:00

@PurpleishDahlia best of luck with the scan,
Totally understand your anxieties about being around people, COVID is scary especially when pregnant and I think a lot of people just don't get it, you'd be nervous enough at the best of times not to mind a pandemic ! But keep your distance where you can and wash hands etc and you'll be fine x

BabyBumpIncoming · 17/12/2020 12:05

Hi all, I've been following this thread in the background for a while but was to scared to post before 12 week scan. Thought I'd finally say hi 👋🏻 14 weeks now and it's finally starting to feel real now that more people know. 1st child for us so loving reading everyone's comments and experiences!

Humpty11 · 17/12/2020 15:07

@BlondePotter @BurningBenches @lucieloos thank you for replying. I won’t expect anything too exciting then! I was hoping for a nice straight forward pregnancy which I guess could still happen! 🤞🏼

girlabouthome · 17/12/2020 20:17

@Firsttimeconcerns BBHUGME fan here also.
I've just got mine out of the loft as I had it with my little boy 3 years ago.

It's an expensive one but worth every penny, I used it for breastfeeding too x

Waitingforbabypage · 18/12/2020 10:17

@PurpleishDahlia how did you get on love? X

AlRRRR · 18/12/2020 14:55

Has anyone had a cyst noticed on their scan? Had mine today and they saw a 4 cm cyst on left ovary 🙄

TerryRose · 18/12/2020 17:37

@AlRRRR no but I've heard they are so common and it's good they have spotted it so wouldn't worry Smile

AlRRRR · 18/12/2020 17:40

Yes they said that too, i had one 2 years ago
2.6 and when i got home i shit myself thinking omg is it the same 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 but no, they come and go apparently

LemonRizzle · 18/12/2020 18:50

We're not finding out the gender, very excited! I've always dreamed of not finding out and having the surprise but my partner really wanted to know. He wanted to know more than I didn't so I agreed to find out (actually really wasn't bothered either way once it came down it), however, he's a little bit autistic and on thinking this through he doesn't think he'll cope if they turn out to be wrong and he's planned for a certain gender and it isn't so yay I win we're having a surprise!! Grin

Had my 16 week midwife appt on Wednesday (I'm actually 17+3), what a waste of time that was. Glad I didnt rearrange work for it! I sat in the waiting room longer than the appointment. She literally took my blood pressure, dipped my wee and said she'll see me in February Confused not sure what I was expecting but it wasn't that lol next scan 5th january and I can't wait! I was so nervous and terrified something would be wrong through the first trimester I just can't wait to see the baby moving again! I'm tall so I have the tiniest of bumps really not visible through my scrubs at work so I still haven't told my colleagues (only 2 I'm really close to), going to play a game and see who dares ask me first Grin

Mackie2020 · 18/12/2020 20:15

@LemonRizzle My 16 week midwife appointment was literally a 10 minute phone call! No bloods, no urine test, no updated notes. She did concede that my 25 week appointment could be face to face though.

Lovethatjourneyforme · 18/12/2020 21:57

@Mackie2020 @LemonRizzle my '16 week' appt was a 5 min phone conversation and I had it at 13 weeks 🤣 now won't see my midwife until mid Feb!

Bleubird · 19/12/2020 08:00

@AlRRRR they noticed a cyst on my left ovary at my early scan but reassured me it's quite common, they pointed it out at my 12 week scan but didn't seem too concerned. x

AlRRRR · 19/12/2020 08:05

@Bleubird Ah really? Did they say how big it was? x

Bleubird · 19/12/2020 09:09

@AlRRRR they told me 2cm in the first scan but in the second they just mentioned they could see it, no mention of the size.

toptreeroots1 · 19/12/2020 09:31

Yes I have a cyst on my right ovary .
It's 8.5cm across so fairly large.
It's causing me no issues . I have no pain or discomfort and I have been told even at that size will likely be gone or reduced in size by 20 week scan

BurningBenches · 19/12/2020 09:32

My 16wk will be telephone too, she basically said I'll call you. Now 16wks "conveniently" falls on boxing day so no idea when I'll be called.

Fightingtobepositive · 19/12/2020 09:48

Hi @Mackie2020 ivf buddy ☺️ Hope your well.

How is the pregnancy so far?

I’m starting to have a pink tinged mucus and it seems to be getting more often and read that it’s unusual 2nd trimester Such a worrying time!

Mackie2020 · 19/12/2020 10:04

@Fightingtobepositive not too bad now! Still feeling a bit sick/lacking in appetite in the evenings. I'm 16+4 now. Had a very bumpy start with late onset OHSS and was hospitalised the day I got my BFP. That took around 12 weeks to get on top of, plus had pretty bad pregnancy nausea throughout. My main worry now is frequent discomfort, which midwife thinks is round ligament pain.

I'm sorry to hear about your pink spotting, although I'm sure that is common and would be nothing to worry about. I know we do worry about everything though! I had a bit of pink spotting at 6 weeks. Can you speak to your midwife for some reassurance?

AlRRRR · 19/12/2020 10:11

@toptreeroots1 and @Bleubird

thanks for your replies! Feel
some relief now x

Fightingtobepositive · 19/12/2020 11:19

Wow @Mackie2020 we have similar stories. I also had late onset ohss, which cause my lungs to fill with fluid, so needed them drained. hospitalised for about a week, I actually found out In hospital. Also came out to very bad nausea and some liver issues. Which is very recently settling down so I’m hopeful.

I’ve also had a lot of pains which people keep telling me are ligament but I think I feel them then a difference with the odd pain here and there. Very sharp, especially when weeing. It’s nice to speak to someone in a similar situation. 💜

I have an over the phone apt next week. So I’ll air my concerns then. After everything I’m just bloody petrified of anything and everything xx
