@happy2be

Good luck! I love the idea, but just couldn't hold out! Xx

kahstorm · 16/12/2020 08:58

I used a pregnancy pillow in my last pregnancy and now my husband has stolen it! It was such a great investment and really takes the pressure off your tummy. I used a cheapie noodle style one.

I’m currently in hospital waiting for my cervical suture to happen. Just brings back so many memories when things went wrong. Trying to keep positive, I know I will have a pre term baby but I would quite like to make it to the third trimester this time 😂 x

kahstorm · 16/12/2020 09:28

I forgot to ask. Had anyone decided to not find out the sex of their baby? I don’t really know what to do. Part of me wants a surprise and then the other part is thinking about the masses of boys clothes I have that I could donate if it’s a girl and get myself organised!

PinkPlantCase · 16/12/2020 09:40

@kahstorm we don’t plan to find out Smile partly because I want to avoid the tsunami of pink/blue though I imagine we’ll get that anyone once their born.

Fully accept that I might change my mind later though!

Bleubird · 16/12/2020 10:19

@kahstorm we plan to keep it a surprise. I'm hoping I can hold out but I'm already rethinking the decision!!

Mackie2020 · 16/12/2020 10:20

@kahstorm we don't plan to find out the sex either. I figure it will help me get through labour!

pookypup · 16/12/2020 10:32

I was tempted to find out the sex, for the same reason as you @kahstorm. I have a ds and a dd, and have a loft full of clothes that need sorting out!

We didn’t find out for the others, and I absolutely loved that moment at delivery where you get to know, so I think we will wait.

Having said that, our NIPT lab have got the results, so apparently I can find out with a phone call at any time..... so tempting!

Scarftown · 16/12/2020 10:55

I don’t plan on finding out. I would like my first to be a surprise.

lucieloos · 16/12/2020 11:09

We have found out the sex via nipt. We already have 2 children and we had surprises for both of them which was lovely but this time we decided to find out to sort through the masses of clothes that we have and I also think it will be easier to prepare our 2 children if we can tell them what it is. We don't plan on broadcasting it to everyone other than close family and maybe some friends. I also felt really strongly that I was having a girl. I didn't mind either as we already have a boy and a girl but I felt so much that it was a girl and I didn't want to start bonding with a girl when it wasn't. I was right though and we are having a baby girl 😊

Dragonfly92 · 16/12/2020 11:41

We're going to find out. I'm not sure I can handle another surprise after twin news 🙈

@lucieloos congratulations on finding out you're having a girl. I really want to know if my gut feeling will be right.

lucieloos · 16/12/2020 12:06

@Dragonfly92 thank you double the excitement for you! My gut feeling has been right with all 3 now. I would have been so surprised each time if it had been the opposite to what I thought the feeling was that strong.

MimiDaisy11 · 16/12/2020 12:28

We've also decided to not find out the sex but I'm surprised there are so many who are deciding to leave it a surprise. It seems so common to find out.

3rdtimelucky2019 · 16/12/2020 12:48

Scan today. 12 weeks exactly. Due 30th June but still anticipating July baby.

Finding out this time as there will only be an 18 month gap between DS and new baby

TerryRose · 16/12/2020 13:55

We are finding out as well , first baby and just feel like I'll be more organised if I know but it's probably more my nerves about the whole thing so want to know as much as possible but said if we are lucky enough to have a second we will keep it a secret for then although we are both very nosey and impatient haha 😆

BurningBenches · 16/12/2020 14:16

I'm finding out. I didn't find out with my eldest but have with the other 3 and will with this one.

My spidey sense has been awful.

Pregnancy one thought boy it was a girl
Pregnancy two thought boy it was a girl
Pregnancy three thought it must be a boy this time, but maybe I only have girls, it was a girl
No morning sickness with any of them.

Pregnancy four, finally morning sickness but probably a girl, I only make girls right?? No boy.

This Pregnancy, number five, sickest I've felt so far, craving crisps, must be a boy. Nope sonographer was pretty sure it's a girl. Though she might be wrong, who knows.

So I'm useless anyway.

I am telling myself I'm finding out for practical reasons but really if it is a girl she will wear DS baby clothes apart from those which say baby brother on them 😂 so basically I'm just impatient!

northerngal20 · 16/12/2020 14:23

yep we're finding out too. mostly just cause we're really excited and want to know as much as we can about the baby as soon as we can. oh, and to try to come up with a name! i wish i could know now - just 7 weeks to go Grin

BlondePotter · 16/12/2020 14:39

We aren't finding out, it seems like so many people do but it's not for me. Maybe with a second so that you can be more organised with clothing!

Jinglebells87 · 16/12/2020 15:19

Congratulations to those who have already found out what they are having!!! I'm so excited to know but have to wait 4 more weeks. We already have a girl and a boy so this one will tip the scales either way! I'm 98% sure it's a boy but I was completely wrong at guessing with my other two. I genuinely have no preference but looking forward on being able to decide on a name!

DollyParton2 · 16/12/2020 16:09

Congrats Nelle !Is this your first?

It’s my 3rd & found out our is boy too x

Nellle · 16/12/2020 16:53

Thanks @DollyParton2 Yes, it's my first. I squealed on the phone when they told me and asked "Is this your first child?" My giddiness was clear for them to hear.

So excited to know it's a little boy (we had no preference or inkling either way) but boys names are SO much harder for us.

By the way, to those asking about pregnancy pillows, I'd really recommend it if you're usually a back-sleeper. I just got the one last week. I'm already obsessed with it! I'm a back-sleeper and knew I was need some help to train myself to sleep on my side before I get a big bump!

Sitchervice · 16/12/2020 17:00

In regards to finding out the sex sometimes people don't get a choice because their little boys show off on their scans 🤣

BlondePotter · 16/12/2020 17:23

@Sitchervice haha yes I am worried about spotting something by accident 🤣

Humpty11 · 16/12/2020 17:39

We found out with our little boy because we wanted to be organised and couldn’t wait but we’re going to have a surprise this time. I’d be happy with either a boy or a girl and are so grateful that we’re having another one but silently terrified if it’s a girl because I feel like I was such hard work when I was little that she’d be my karma 🤣.
Has anyone been referred to the consultant? I’ve been sent an appointment for the beginning of January and just wondering what I might expect from the appointment. I’ve been referred because I had high blood pressure at the end of my last pregnancy and postnatal hypertension too. No other risk factors (as far as I’m aware!)

BlondePotter · 16/12/2020 17:46

@Humpty11 I was told I would be consultant led because of BMI (and a neck fracture being in my notes even though I've never fractured my neck 🤦🏼‍♀️), but all I've received is the glucose test appt at 28 weeks

BurningBenches · 16/12/2020 17:51

@humpty11 I've been referred due to bmi and blood loss from my 1st (This is my 5th) I was referred with my 4th due to bmi and it was a very quick appointment where they said I was low risk and discharged me back to MW care.

I then got referred back again when DS was measuring big at 37wks.
