Ha @millyJS I said to my husband i have no idea how people keep this is secret when they aren't in lockdown! Not like I can use the excuse of driving working in London. And I cant be on antibiotics or feel unwell every Thursday 😂😂😂 definitely a saving grace. I've been wfh since March and won't be back until the summer next year!

Candyflosscrochet · 23/11/2020 16:50

@MillyJS it's a screening test for the 3 trisomies, can be done earlier than the NHS triple test and although not diagnostic, has very high results. As I'm older, I fear my triple test will come back as high risk anyway. We have to pay private for it, but I know some trusts do it if you have a high risk result. But I'd like to deal with anything sooner rather than later and for confirmation from the NHS, I'd be 14wks+.
Anyone else who's had early scans....did they actually measure the heart rate? They didn't today, said is wasn't something they do at this stage, although I think she tried to but it wasn't picking up, although we could clearly see it flickering away.

Luckyelephant1 · 23/11/2020 16:59

Hi guys hoping for some reassurance today. I'm 7+2 today and literally have no symptoms. I did have mild cramps at 3-4 weeks and up until the weekend some mild food aversion and tiredness. The last couple of days I've felt completely normal, I've been active and working out, normal appetite, etc. Not a trace of nausea or boob soreness. Every now and then I get a random stitch feeling around my lower abdomen, no particular side and it goes pretty quickly.

Has anyone had similar experiences and what was the outcome? I have a private scan on the 12th at 10 weeks but considering bringing it forward for peace of mind.

CC81 · 23/11/2020 17:05

Hi all, I was wondering why the old thread had gone quiet!

Had an early scan today (7 weeks) and it showed TWO heartbeats. So we're currently expecting twins, in mid-July.

I'm pretty scared! It's so unexpected. I had my first child three years ago and it was straightforward. I know twin pregnancies can be difficult and risky.

But at least I know I wasn't imagining things! I felt sick last week and then nothing at the weekend, so I was half-expecting to see nothing on the scan. Quite the opposite!

Jilly1988 · 23/11/2020 17:31

I know I'm no help to you but I am still exactly the same @Luckyelephant1 I have googled so many times. Even though I get the answer and the old threads tell me it's normal and it doesn't mean anything I worry every single day and just want to feel something. My boobs are not sore in the slightest and I don't feel sick. I get a very bloated and hungry type feeling late afternoon but that's about it. I'm 7 weeks today.

Hopefulmummie · 23/11/2020 17:49

@luckyelephant1 I'm exactly the same and it worries me too. I'm 6+4 and no symptoms at all really. Had some cramping when I was around 4-5 weeks. Boobs are slightly sore but only when I poke at them.other than that none of the usual symptoms. I keep reading that it's completely normal. I had scan at early pregnancy on Friday there and they seen sac and yolk sac going back on Friday week to hopefully see more

MillyJS · 23/11/2020 17:52

@Candyflosscrochet Thank you, I'll give it a Google! Definitely worth having peace of mind.

Omg @CC81 twins! That must have been a surprise! Glad to hear everything looks ok

@Jilly1988 @Luckyelephant1 Same here, I had symptoms between 4-5 weeks but nothing so far in week 5. I'm a bit behind you but time seems to be moving incredibly slowly 🙈

@WingingIt2021 Haha exactly! Luckily I can pretend my elderflower cordial is gin in this week's virtual team post-work meeting 🥳

lepardprint · 23/11/2020 17:55

Hello everyone. Can I join please? :)
Due July 20th!
Congratulations to you all x

Char899 · 23/11/2020 18:03

@CC81 oh wow! Congratulations! Twins! How fantastic x

Luckyelephant1 · 23/11/2020 18:21

Thanks guys really reassuring to hear some of you are similar to me!

@MillyJS haha we have a 'virtual cocktail making' work do this week and I've had to actually order the kit (luckily it's an approved expense!) and will have to make it... but then sneakily swap it for a non alcoholic drink of the same colour!

Mine didn't measure heartbeat today but it was clearly flickering away

Candyflosscrochet · 23/11/2020 18:38

@3rdtimelucky2019 thankyou, that's very reassuring.
I suppose though even if they had have measured it I'd still find something to worry about!
It's awful really, my previous pregnancies I had scans at 6wks for various reasons and was satisfied with that until my 12wk scan....the mmc has ruined that for me this time.....makes everything so much more fragile and worrying. Xx

MillyJS · 23/11/2020 18:42

@Luckyelephant1 That's dedication! Hope the cocktail doesn't involve anything like blue curacao 🙈

Em2751 · 23/11/2020 18:43

I'm 23 and I've just found out I'm 6 weeks and 3 days pregnant due around the 16 July. Just waiting for my letter from the midwives for my booking appointment. My partner has also checked out so I'm having to go into this with the reality of facing this alone and I'm petrified but can't get an abortion as I'm so attached already.

CC81 · 23/11/2020 18:57

Thanks everyone - I'm freaking out a bit!

@Jilly1988 - That's exactly why I had a scan today (also 7 weeks), as I felt pretty normal over the weekend. I was sure there'd be a problem. But according to the scan, not yet!

Apparently for some women it's normal to have phases (or even entire pregnancies) where you don't feel weird.

CC81 · 23/11/2020 18:58

@Luckyelephant1 - Sorry, my last message was also for you Smile

Flowerbudd · 23/11/2020 19:35

@Candyflosscrochet hey and congrats! Sorry to jump on but I saw your post about not measuring babies HB, i had a scan and was also measuring 7+3 and she found the HB and said it was fast, i asked how fast? She simply said, we don't measure at this stage as the heart is so delicate. That really worried me as i thought they did but it appears its quite common not to as well :)

@Jilly1988 Im also having no symptoms here apart from tiredness and can't stop eating. I had a scan at 7+3 and all was perfect. Its so normal to feel ok Smile xx

Lollipop87 · 23/11/2020 19:49

Hi all, OP from the previous thread here! Sorry I was a bit of a rubbish OP in the end, haven't been on MN for the last couple of weeks! Well done for setting up a second thread, can't believe how quickly the other one filled up!

I've caught up with my messages now, so hopefully if you messaged me about joining the Facebook group you'll have been added or received a reply. It was getting a bit much to manage, so I've made the group searchable on Facebook but you can't see who's in the group so no one will be able to see you're a member. Here's the link if you want to request to join www.facebook.com/groups/740105196541075/

I'll mainly be on the Facebook group from now on, find it too much keeping up with everything on both platforms! Smile Hope to see some of you there soon, and wishing you all healthy and happy pregnancies xxx

WalkingMeAway · 23/11/2020 19:52

Hi all. 6 weeks today and seemingly seemingly feeling the same as most of you. Symptoms off and on like a tap. So anxious !
Scan on Sunday, going to be the longest week of my life !

@Em2751 congrats. Sorry to hear you will be going alone. I hope you have lots of family/friends and support.

WalkingMeAway · 23/11/2020 19:54

I just requested to join the group, thank you @Lollipop87

Lollipop87 · 23/11/2020 20:00

Sorry everyone, I've had to make it hidden again because it showed the photos of the admins which isn't ideal! I think there's another Facebook group if you go back to the previous thread that you can search and join xxx

To be honest I think a lot of the time the symptoms we expect and the 'feeling pregnant' is something dreamed up in the tww. I know with my DS I didn't feel pregnant until 30 weeks plus and only then because he was kicking the life out of me and I was massive. Every pregnancy is different, just enjoy living your life as normal!

Thank you @Lollipop87, if anyone wants to join you can PM and I can add you to the Facebook group. Xx

RainbowRED81 · 23/11/2020 20:49

Hi
I hope I’m not too late to join? It’s been a long time since I was in a pregnancy chat room, 8 years to be precise! I have an 8 year old daughter, my miracle baby, conceived after 5 miscarriages. I’ve suffered a further 4 miscarriages over the last few years and was told I was pre-menopausal in 2019 at age 38 so this pregnancy is a bit of a shock! I am currently 5 weeks 3 days but scared out of my mind as I have very few symptoms which is the opposite of my first pregnancy where I had horrendous nausea from week 4-20. I’ve been prescribed progesterone pessaries and baby aspirin to try and lower the risk of miscarriage but thinking that this could become my 10th loss absolutely terrifies me. I just can’t relax and constantly checking for symptoms. I had light pink spotting a week ago on 2 consecutive days but my consultant said that’s normal when using the pessaries. I’m 39 with very few eggs left so this really could be my last chance. I’m trying to stay positive until my first early scan at the EPU which is booked on the 3rd December.
Sorry for the long post! Just wanted to explain my history and see if anyone else is in a similar position.

Sallyjo27 · 23/11/2020 20:59

@RainbowRED81im so sorry for your losses! I understand how you are feeling, I’ve had recurrent miscarriages too and we have no previous children. I’m 4w2d today and am taking aspirin and cyclogest pessaries as well. I’ve got very little symptoms just my boobs are sore. I’ve got a scan at my EPU on the 7th. Fingers crossed for both of us that this will be our bring home baby xxx
