Thanks, and glad the cramps have gone for you!

I'm fairly good with water in the daytime - just not at night in my extra sleepy state, so will see if I can do better/ take more water up to bed! I always assumed dehydration/ overheating risks to baby were much greater in first trimester so hopefully that's true too.

strawberrycherryblossom · 15/01/2021 10:52

@PurpleCurtain it's easy to worry about everything and while I'm not saying you shouldn't be careful, it's also worth remembering that your body does a very good job of cushioning/keeping the baby safe. Yes you need to be careful with heat and not use saunas or hot tubs but I wouldn't worry if I woke up toasty in bed. I did HIIT throughout pregnancy last time and my midwife said me being hot would cause no issues (low risk pregnancy).

It's just about doing the things you can do - for example in the later weeks they advise you to sleep on your side but if you wake up on your back it's not the end of the world, just roll back to your side - if you see what I mean! Don't do too much MN reading and worrying, you will drive yourself mad! But if you are worrying I'm always happy to help rationalise GrinThanks

THATbasicSNOWFLAKE · 15/01/2021 10:53

I love nothing more than a nice hot bath, i have taken hot baths in all of my pregnancies and none of my babies came out boiled Grin

PurpleCurtain · 15/01/2021 11:27

I am also having hot baths and I hadn't questioned that at all so there's the evidence I needed that my worrying is stupid and not proportionate Grin

THATbasicSNOWFLAKE · 15/01/2021 11:41

Blame it on the hormones purple

PeanutButterFalcon · 15/01/2021 15:04

@PurpleCurtain I seem to be worrying about everything too. I see my midwife next week and think she’s going to be bombarded with questions!

Does anyone have a list they are using on what to buy? I don’t want to get anything yet but I love a list and being organised. I have no idea where to even start

THATbasicSNOWFLAKE · 15/01/2021 15:06

I dont think we actually need to buy much, youngest dc is only 16 months so we still have most things, i am however struggling with double buggy choices

strawberrycherryblossom · 15/01/2021 16:02

@PeanutButterFalcon like @THATbasicSNOWFLAKE we don't have much to get as DC1 will only be 19 months when baby arrives. Our pram turns into a double luckily. I need some adapters for the pram, a new car seat base (DC1 uses ours) and an additional camera for our monitor. Think that's about it!

THATbasicSNOWFLAKE · 15/01/2021 17:07

@strawberrycherryblossom which pram do you have?

strawberrycherryblossom · 15/01/2021 17:24

@THATbasicSNOWFLAKE it's the Uppababy Vista.

Luckyelephant1 · 15/01/2021 17:34
@THATbasicSNOWFLAKE it's the Uppababy Vista.
Would you recommend it? It's in my shortlist but it's also one of the heaviest there is I think, has that been an issue at all? Also do you tend to use a car seat on the chassis much via adaptors or always transfer to pram? Sorry about the bombardment of questions but just finding the whole travel system world a massive minefield. Everything else seems relatively simple!

strawberrycherryblossom · 15/01/2021 17:50

@Luckyelephant1 I would buy it again in a heartbeat. I love it.

Are you on the FB group? If so I'll message you!

THATbasicSNOWFLAKE · 15/01/2021 18:24

I had ruled out the vista due to weight Sad i am small and weak Blush

Cwhw · 15/01/2021 19:03

Hi all, new to this group, due 7th July. Just wanted to say to @purplecurtain that I have had central cramps too. My sister in law had the same and I saw a physio. Turns out its SPD (Google it, its to do with pelvis) and I've got some pelvic exercise which has eased it a little. It could be that. Im constantly worrying after 2 miscarriages last year but just have to trust that its all going fine in there! Xx

Luckyelephant1 · 15/01/2021 19:12

@strawberrycherryblossom ah no I'm not on the fb group, I know it's private but for some reason I'm not really ready to join or maybe never will be! Could you PM on here? Thanks in advance 😊

strawberrycherryblossom · 15/01/2021 19:54

@Luckyelephant1 I'll PM you now x

TiredAlreadyOhDear · 17/01/2021 09:29

Made our first purchase for the baby yesterday after getting our results back as low risk after the scan! Don’t know if it’s a bit early but felt excited - stuff feels weirdly real now the results are back! Anyone else think time is going so quickly? Feels like 2 mins ago we found out and now I’m 14 weeks!! Xx

BewareThePenguins · 17/01/2021 10:13

@TiredAlreadyOhDear ooooh, exciting! What did you buy? My girls have been making wish lists of different things they want to get.

TiredAlreadyOhDear · 17/01/2021 10:50

@BewareThePenguins we got the Moses basket - we went for the shnuggle dreami one - thought it would be easy to clean haha! It’s our first so everything is a new to us and we don’t have anything so it’s nice to start buying but then cautious we don’t want to start too soon! When are you due? Xx

Luckyelephant1 · 17/01/2021 11:31

So just found out DH has tested positive for COVID. He has no symptoms but obviously will now self isolate. Obviously I will be self isolating too, I pretty much already was doing so except for walks. I'm really anxious now that this may affect baby. Coincidentally yesterday and today I've had a horrible migraine type headache which I've been getting on and off over the last couple of weeks, headache is normal in pregnancy but also a symptom of COVID.

Other than self isolate, anything else I should do? Is there any point letting GP/midwife know as I can't imagine they can do anything anyway except say self isolate? My heads totally in a spin 😐

THATbasicSNOWFLAKE · 17/01/2021 11:34

Sorry to hear that @Luckyelephant1 , i think as long as you aren't feeling poorly then you probably don't need to let anyone know Flowers

THATbasicSNOWFLAKE · 17/01/2021 11:41

Oh i recieved an app for my 20 week scan, and also one for a 36 week hospital appointment (doesn't mention scan so i assume not) has anyone else had this?

AliceinBunniland · 17/01/2021 13:23

@Luckyelephant1 I hope you and your DH are okay. I understand you will be worried but I think they say there are no additional risks with covid in the early stages. I saw a consultant at 10 weeks and we asked about it. Call your midwife if you need some reassurance though.

@THATbasicSNOWFLAKE I have a 20 week scan appointment and also a 28 week appointment at the hospital. Have you discussed early induction or c section, as 36 weeks is obviously close to your due date so I'm not sure why you'd get an appointment for then.

TiredAlreadyOhDear · 17/01/2021 14:17

I’ve been sent my appointment for my 20 week scan but nothing after that xx

Luckyelephant1 · 17/01/2021 15:33

Thanks @THATbasicSNOWFLAKE @AliceinBunniland feeling a lot better about it all now, think was just a shock when he got the text this morning that I went into panic mode! We are both feeling well for now (my headache seems to have dissipated) so hopefully this continues. Guess this also means he is way less likely to test positive closer to my due date especially if he has the vaccine in between now and then, so there's a silver lining.

I haven't had my 20 week scan app through yet (I'm 15 weeks tomorrow) but have already been booked an app for the fasting diabetes test in April 🤷‍♀️
