I have @strawberrycherryblossom Scan was on 23/12 and I got results in the post about a week after but they said if there had been an issue they would have called early last week

Luckyelephant1 · 05/01/2021 13:23

Yeah I have x

strawberrycherryblossom · 05/01/2021 13:44

Are we all coming back as low risk? I've come back as 1/100k for Edwards and Pataus & 1/30k for Downs. I know the latter isn't high at all but it's higher than with DC1 so I feel like I'm worrying Blush

Blughbablugh · 05/01/2021 16:08

@strawberrycherryblossom I haven't had mine back. I had my scan on 23/12 and received nothing as of yet. They did say that they will call pretty quickly if any concerns, so I'm guessing everything is OK. I'd like to know though as I'm 38 and do I guess in the higher risk bracket.

They couldn't get a reading at mine, so I have to have the quadruple blood test at 15ish weeks instead (two weeks today). So I guess its another three weeks til I'll have any results!

I've also booked a private scan at 16 weeks, more because that filled the wait between 12 and 20 than for gender but it might be a nice bonus... and got an email saying that scans were only allowed to go ahead for medical purposes and that I should cancel if the only reason for my scan was to find out the gender.

jewelsx · 05/01/2021 18:51

@hippohippohippo

My appointment to find out the gender is still allowed, only change is that just one person can attend with you instead of two. Can you not book somewhere else?

3rdtimelucky2019 · 05/01/2021 19:10

I had 1 / 985 for downs, last pregnancy was 1/10,000. Still not worrying myself.

hippohippohippo · 05/01/2021 20:04

@jewelsx its still going ahead - I meant they just make you state that it's not your primary reason for attending as their way of ensuring they are abiding by the rules.

Mum0721 · 05/01/2021 22:05

@stickytoffeepud1991 can I join? I am due 10th july- had my 12 week scan tomorrow and had a high NT so being brought back on Thursday- incredibly worrying but staying positive and praying baby is well and healthy

stickytoffeepud1991 · 05/01/2021 22:07

@Mum0721 of course. PM me your email address xx

jewelsx · 06/01/2021 12:33

Had my scan today due 15th July like expected I am 13 weeks, did the ds test so also paranoid about that. Just got to wait it out. If I don't hear in 5 days I won't worry

jewelsx · 06/01/2021 12:44

I was told by the nurses today that they now recommend you take your pregnancy tablets till your 16 week appointment with the midwife

Fartymcfart · 08/01/2021 13:21

Can I ask what extra vitamins everyone takes if they take them? I'm supposed to take a larger dose of folic but my prescription has gone missing so need to wait a few extra days. In my pack was some pregnacare vitamins are these safe to take and I thought I'd get a few more to take alongside once I've used these up.
Hope everyone is managing OK, I'm so tired and really want to sleep whilst trying to home school my other children.

jewelsx · 08/01/2021 20:04

@Fartymcfart just one pregnancy pill a day gives you what you need
Just take your folic acid prescribed and one pregnancy tablet a day pregnancare is safe

AliceinBunniland · 08/01/2021 20:22

@Fartymcfart I take vitamin D because I have been low in vit D for a while so i was taking high dose folic acid and vit d but now I am just taking pregnacare as I don't think folic acid is as important after first trimester and I'm comfortable taking the standard dose in pregnacare

The midwife told me they advise people to take folic acid, vitamin D and vitamin C

Fartymcfart · 08/01/2021 20:47

Thanks, I'll get some more of these then to complement the folic when I get it

strawberrycherryblossom · 08/01/2021 21:36

@Fartymcfart I've been taking the pregnacare plus (2 tablets a day). I know they're an expensive way of doing it but I took them throughout last time and I'm also bf this time - so basically keeping 3 of us alive. Think I'll take all the help I can get.

Sweetpea12 · 08/01/2021 21:50

I was taking just pregnacare and had suffered really bad nausea. The midwife today told me it’s likely to have been that vitamin that made it worse and recommended doses of folic acid and vitamin d on their own

Hope everyone is keeping well I had my 12 week scan today and baby all good due on the 19th July as they kept original date and not based on baby’s size Smile

WarrickDavisAsPlates · 08/01/2021 22:43

@Sweetpea12 I'm glad your scan went well.

I had mine today as well, they gave me a dye date of the 25th of July which puts me back one week. But I was so unsure of my dates anyway that I wasn't surprised.

We've just spent most of the day phoning family to let them know, it's starting to feel real now. I was so sure I'd get bad news that now I feel like I've really got to get my head around there actually being a baby in there.

jewelsx · 08/01/2021 23:01

Anyone here using creams to prevent stretch marks? Didn't get any with my first dd so hoping this is the same if I do the same routine as before it'll work
Bought the mama Mio creams / oils

Sweetpea12 · 08/01/2021 23:06

@WarrickDavisAsPlates that’s how I feel too it really sunk in today that it’s happening and I don’t know about you but I feel so much more relaxed and able to be excited now

BewareThePenguins · 09/01/2021 22:22

Hello, just found this thread. I'm 11 weeks today and due 31st July with my 4th. Scan on the 20th. Hope you dont mind if I join this group,I'm feeling a bit rusty due to the 12 year age gap there will be between child 3 and 4!

stickytoffeepud1991 · 09/01/2021 22:41

Hope everyone is okay!
I’m 16+3 today and we found out the gender yesterday. I also feel I’m starting to feel movements, I vaguely remember Movements with DD about 17/18 weeks. Xx

lili77 · 11/01/2021 21:13

How is everyone getting on??
I haven't heard back from my test at 13 weeks so am staying positive about it, it's been 6 days and they say you will hear in 5, has anyone else's hospital contacted them and told them any different?

strawberrycherryblossom · 12/01/2021 07:39

@lili77 our hospital says up to 2 weeks for screening results. To be honest I'd worry more if they came quickly as they tend to contact you ASAP if there's an issue whereas they just send a letter in the post if low risk. I'd give it a few more days and maybe follow up at the end of the week.

@stickytoffeepud1991 I'm 15 weeks now and have started to feel very slight movements occasionally if I'm really still. It feels too early but they're definitely there. I was also 17/18 weeks with DC1.

Are most people here on a Facebook group? I'm still not ready to join as I've not shared the news with friends or work yet but I might move over once I have.
