Thank-you so much! I just naturally worry and think the worst all the time even if I have to reason to x

PeanutButterFalcon · 13/12/2020 11:05

Hey everyone I had a large bleed a week ago went to the EPU and had a scan and there was baby. Now bleeding again at 10+2. Can’t help but worry and as it’s the weekend there isn’t much I can do.
I’ve had HG and can’t help but wonder if the dehydration is effecting things. Every time I call the doctors I get told to avoid hospital because of covid.
Hope everyone else is ok

AliceinBunniland · 13/12/2020 11:20

I hope everything is ok @PeanutButterFalcon That must be worrying but everything was okay on the scan before then there is a good chance it still is 🤞

Do you have a 12 week scan booked yet?

Mish20 · 13/12/2020 12:53

@PeanutButterFalcon I hope this are okay for you, I can only imagine how you are feeling but as you sid your scan was all good so fingers crossed it is all okay still.

PeanutButterFalcon · 13/12/2020 13:31

12 week scan is booked for when I’m 14 weeks. The earliest the could get me in. Feels so far away now.

I hope so, today is going to drag

jewelsx · 14/12/2020 20:49

When does what we consume start to go into baby too?

Scottishskifun · 14/12/2020 21:17

@jewelsx the placenta is fully formed at about 12 weeks but they already get nutrients before that.

I got my letter through today for my scan but also an obs appointment but have I'm not sure why. I am low risk on the app not sure if its related to my son being in NICU when he was born or the speed he was born but he was a water birth so not usual trigger for an obs appointment. I am allergic to most of the pain meds on offer as well (hence I had a water birth)

I had to reschedule both for first week of January though as they were for Christmas eve and we will be with family.

Blughbablugh · 14/12/2020 21:45

@Scottishskifun I have a consultant appointment as well due to my dd being small when she was born and having to be induced due to that. My midwife said that it is standard procedure and that I will probably have extra scans. So it may just be procedure but best to check with your midwife.

Scottishskifun · 14/12/2020 21:57

@Blughbablugh thanks ahhh I have the opposite it could be because my son was big (over 9lb and 57cm) he had to go to NICU because his breathing was too fast where he looked like a giant in comparison to the prem babies!

I'm in a small town with only 2 community midwives who have a wide geographical area so not always the easiest to get hold of. Will see what the consultant says my husband has agreed with me that it's either natural water birth or a planned c section. I refuse to be induced too many friends ended up with episiotomy. If they are going to use a scalpol and stitches then it can occur in a place where I can sit down and has a better recovery time.

Sorry if I scare any first timers once you give birth once you don't really have a filter for the reality of it!

Blughbablugh · 14/12/2020 22:07

@Scottishskifun my midwife said that it doesn't necessarily mean I will be under consultant care throughout and may still be able to give birth in a maternity led unit rather than hospital so it shouldn't rule out water births being under consultant led. Unfortunately my small baby was not picked up until 38 weeks and so they decided to induce me 2 days later in the high risk suite with no water birth as I was on the monitor . I know that some don't have a good experience with induction and I think I was very lucky as had no tearing, no assistance and all in all was pretty quick. All my brothers and sister were small and so I think with me it's a hereditary thing (even though we are all quite tall and not small anymore!) Just like my 3 year old who is a ball of energy and towering above her friends at nursery Grin

Scottishskifun · 15/12/2020 10:31

@Blughbablugh that's really good out of my friends who have been induced 6 had episiotimies and forceps 2 had emergency c sections so I don't have much faith in it!

My husband told my MIL last night she had her usual reaction of well lock down does funny things to people...... Hmm but she was the same lack of happiness and congratulations with my son and both of her daughters pregnancies so not surprised really.

She's a baffling woman makes very little effort to call, find out how her grandchildren are doing etc but then makes them the most beautiful handmade things!

PeanutButterFalcon · 15/12/2020 11:38

I can’t even begin to imagine labour yet! It seems so far away.

I had a scan today at the EPAC and I had twins but unfortunately one is miscarrying. Feel so grateful to be blessed with the other one still.

Scottishskifun · 15/12/2020 11:47

@PeanutButterFalcon sorry to hear this I imagine its very mixed emotions for you take care of yourself.
I think it can be quite common but many women don't know that they have twins

I think I only think about it as I had a very fast birth with my son (less than 6 hours) so expected to be faster with the second, I know I can't have most of the pain relief options, have a surprise consultation appointment and have to consider sorting my toddler out with no family about.

Lov3my2 · 15/12/2020 11:51

Hi everyone.

I am 6w2days going from my ovulation date. Due Aug 8th 2021.

I have had 3 miscarriages before this so I'm super anxious. All stopped around 6 weeks went for a scan and no heartbeat. My last loss was October and I miscarried then caught straight away.

This time around I've done tests everyday and had my HCG done. All looking healthy so far, 19dpo (4wd5) my hcg was 2,020 (weird) lol and then at 23dpo (5w2d) it was 11,156. Was even meant to have my IVF appointment this month as was down with losing all the time. But now this has happened.

I have my scan this Thursday afternoon. I'll be around 6w4days..praying for a little flicker this time.

Just looking for some support 😊. Good luck to you all xx

PeanutButterFalcon · 15/12/2020 13:01

@Scottishskifun I had a feeling that I was having twins at the beginning so it hasn’t come as much of a surprise. We’ve been TTC for a long time so trying to remain grateful for what we have.

I’m hoping by the time we’re due the COVID restrictions will be a lot better and make things easier for us. There’s so much to think about and prepare for.

jewelsx · 15/12/2020 18:53

Anyone had low iron deficiency due to pregnancy? I'm now on tablets and now I realised why I've been so tired!

AliceinBunniland · 15/12/2020 21:00

I'm sorry you have lost a twin @PeanutButterFalcon Hopefully the remaining baby will do well

@Lov3my2 I hope it is fourth time lucky for you and your scan goes well on Thursday

Is anyone else taking asprin? I bought the dispersible kind but find it hard to drink. Does anyone know if it's okay to just swallow like abnormal pill?

AliceinBunniland · 15/12/2020 21:01

Meant to say "a normal pill" not "abnormal pill" Hmm

Scottishskifun · 15/12/2020 23:15

@jewelsx I did last pregnancy so far OK in this one. Lots of dark leafy greens brocoli etc will also help. I struggled with the tablets side effects but came to an agreement with my midwife about taking liquid iron instead.

@AliceinBunniland I wouldn't recommend it I tried it with a dissolvable paracetamol in France once it started fizzing the second it hit my mouth making it really difficult to swallow. Can you pick up baby aspirin instead?

3rdtimelucky2019 · 15/12/2020 23:37

I take baby aspirin as tablets. Only little, no problem taking them.
Sweetpea12 · 16/12/2020 07:23

What’s the chances morning sickness will stop around 10 weeks?? I can’t even open a fridge without retching Hmm I really wanna enjoy a Christmas dinner next week Xmas Smile

PeanutButterFalcon · 16/12/2020 07:33

@AliceinBunniland thank you.

I have to take aspirin from 12 weeks so not quite there yet.

If you have the dispersible one then you have to disperse it before swallowing. It’ll breakdown fully after it reaches your stomach and won’t be as effective.

AliceinBunniland · 16/12/2020 08:28

Thanks @PeanutButterFalcon @3rdtimelucky2019
will try to find some that are not dispersible. I swallowed them whole last night and they were fine but will keep taking them the right way until I can get some that are not dispersible.

@Scottishskifun They are not dissolvable or fizzy (like, say, a Berocca tablet). If they were I think it would be easier to take them. They sort of disperse into tiny bits but then they stick to the side of the glass and I have to keep putting water in the glass and drinking it to make sure I get the full dose.

@Sweetpea12 I am 11 weeks today and have felt less sick and tired since Monday and have had a couple of productive days at work. I'm hoping that's because I'm nearing the end of the first trimester and the placenta is doing its job.

MillyJS · 16/12/2020 08:35

@Sweetpea12 I'm hoping the same 😂 I'll be 10 weeks on Christmas Day & the thought of eating a Christmas lunch right now makes me grimace. Currently almost 9 weeks and feel constantly nauseous 🤢

Sweetpea12 · 16/12/2020 12:20

The thought of most food is awful I’m on a beige diet breads, crackers, bagels and the odd chip and occasionally trying to force fruit in 😂 have a scan this Saturday so hoping all is still ok
