@MaryLola I got a letter about my 12 week scan just before I was 6 weeks. It's on 29th. I would maybe ring and chase it up

Sweetpea12 · 01/12/2020 20:12

I’m in Belfast and got my booking appointment less than a week after letting my doctor know I’m pregnant. It’s for the 1st week in January when I’ll be just over 13 weeks pregnant

Blughbablugh · 02/12/2020 12:04

It's gone a bit quiet in here with people on the Facebook page. I had my reassurance scan today. Measuring 9 +4 so about 2 days ahead of what I calculated. Strong heartbeat and just the one. My 12 week scan is 23rd December and we will then be telling family over christmas Grin

@Blughbablugh that's great news congratulations! I had a pallava - I rang the gp at 5 weeks to be referred to the midwife. I am now 8 weeks and called the GP as I hadn't hears from them. The receptionist then confessed she wasnt able to send the referral and couldn't remember mu name so didnt even bother to follow up. If I hadn't of chased it I wouldn't have been referred! Angry it's my first pregnancy so feeling very cross and also now dont trust the process!

Apanna · 02/12/2020 12:42

@Mish20 i feel for you! With my first pregnancy this year (ended in MC) I filled in a referral form at 5 weeks and when I called up 2 weeks later it was lost!! I felt so lonely at the time and I felt I was the only one without appointments in the mumsnet group! Eventually I found that in my region they normally don't do much before week 8 anyway so you should still be good! Once you get to speak to your midwife they are so lovely you will forget all about it!!!

3rdtimelucky2019 · 02/12/2020 13:22

Booking in appointment yesterday at 10+0, got access to the maternity apps note yesterday. Logged on today and a scan has been booked for 2 weeks time. Seems far too efficient!

Mish20 · 02/12/2020 13:40

@Apanna thanks yes I just think it's such bad practice especially when you trust these people to get their jobs done. I'm sorry to hear about your mc. It's really scary and I try not to think about it and be positive but it is in the back of my mind all the time

Bellaphant · 02/12/2020 13:47

Hi!

6 weeks today, got a private scan booked on Xmas Eve and not hearing from the midwife til new year's eve, but it's by the phone :s

AliceinBunniland · 02/12/2020 13:57

That's good @Blughbablugh

jewelsx · 02/12/2020 18:04

@NamechangeTTC I don't blame you 😅

I hope everyone is doing well! I'm really excited to get my scan done in December. I probably won't be telling anyone till after 12 weeks, maybe 16? To be safe as anything can happen!
Nausea seems to happen at night now and it's horrible but goes quickly. Still constantly feel tired. Did some Christmas shopping online today, feel better from doing so👍😁😁

NamechangeTTC · 02/12/2020 18:09

@strawberrycherryblossom I’m changing jobs so not telling them till I start.

So so bloated.

WilheldivaHater · 02/12/2020 18:31

May I join? Had a positive test only last week but going by my last period I should be around 7 weeks, due on the 17th of July (says my app) although that could all change at the scan.

MaryLola · 03/12/2020 11:03

Chased up about my appointment and they said I could be 10 weeks before I receive a letter. I'll hold tight for another 2 weeks and chase again if nothing.
Hope everyone is doing ok

Mish20 · 03/12/2020 13:29

@MaryLola is this for your scan or booking appointment?

MaryLola · 03/12/2020 13:40

@Mish20 pretty sure its all in one here in NI

Sweetpea12 · 03/12/2020 13:49

Did anyone else sort out their own midwife appointment? I had a letter for my doctor that said for him to organise antenatal care and I got told to ring up myself and organise it

Mish20 · 03/12/2020 13:52

@MaryLola ah okay I see. It's such a while to wait isnt it!

MaryLola · 03/12/2020 13:59

@Mish20 yeah it really is, I just want a date for an apt so it feels a bit more real.

luxxlisbon · 03/12/2020 14:09

@Sweetpea12 I think most hospitals have you self refer. I had to go online to my hospital and fill out a referral form, someone then got in touch with me a few days later and arranged the first appointment.

My doctor hasn't had anything to do with the process.

Mish20 · 03/12/2020 15:28

@MaryLola yes same!!! I just want to hear from a midwife lol! Right now other than feeling bloated and nauseous I'm questioning if it's even real!!

WalkingMeAway · 03/12/2020 15:59

I self referred on hospital website. Did half by booking in over the phone about a week later then received appointments in post for bloods, booking in and scan. I didn’t have to contact my GP

Sweetpea12 · 03/12/2020 18:10

@luxxlisbon yes that would make sense as mine is at hospital whereas I was told originally we had antenatal at my GP surgery but must not

Hopefulmummie · 03/12/2020 18:22

I have a scan in epu tomorrow and I'm just convinced it's going to bad news. I've had spotting the last couple of days which started off brown blood and light but has got a bit heavier and sometimes red blood.
I'm hoping it's period related as I would've been due yesterday. Anyone else had similar to this and success stories? Trying to hold hope

marplemead · 03/12/2020 18:38

@Hopefulmummie fingers crossed for you! I had bleeding at 6wks with my DD and all turned out okay. How many weeks are you?

I'm 9wks today (based on LMP) and started spotting today. It started as brown and has become pink/red. Our EPU has suspended their walk-in clinic, so I had to leave a message for a call back, but haven't had a call yet. I was worried anyway, because I've had no real symptoms, so I'm convinced this will be a mc. It will be my third Sad

Hopefulmummie · 03/12/2020 18:46

I'm 8 weeks today so hoping it's breakthrough bleeding. What colour was your bleeding before if you didn't mind me asking?

My symptoms have disappeared too. I really hope it's not for you. Hopefully as it's not heavy everything will be ok
