Thought it would be fun to start a thread where we can all drive each other crazy analysing every little twinge and pain together 😂 hopefully we can all keep each other company whilst we wait for the show to go on the road! I'm 38 weeks plus and very Impatinetly awaiting little ones arrival in the hopes of escaping an induction. Heres to hoping it all kicks off for us!

37 weeks today! Had horrible braxton hicks in the middle of the night on Wednesday with cramps and backache. Eased off after half an hour but panicked it could be the real deal!

addler · 13/11/2020 13:10

38 weeks tomorrow and feeling the same. I haven't had any BH that I'm aware of, baby was 2/5 engaged on Tuesday but apart from that not one sign anything is getting ready! But officially signed on for my home birth now so just have to be patient (impossible)

Stargazer87 · 13/11/2020 13:50

I'm 37+3 and looking out for signs, I keep getting period pain on and off but that's about it!

Babydancing2020 · 13/11/2020 14:07

Yess finally a thread for me!
Im 38+weeks i have been having contractions every 5 to 10mins for hourssssss with a duration of 50sec to 1min but they always ease off after a few hours. Got checked last week I was 1-2cm dilated.
I cant wait to meet my 2nd son

peachypetite · 13/11/2020 14:11

I’m 37+4 and feeling very tired. It’s been such a slog to be honest, and starting and finishing pregnancy in lockdown is something else!

m4d0 · 13/11/2020 14:12

Hi, I will be 39 weeks tomorrow had lots of braxton hicks. It's my second no braxton hicks last time water broke a week before due date and ended up with induction as nothing else happened. Hoping for a natural labour this time

bc2992 · 13/11/2020 14:19

I'm getting induced Sunday at 39 weeks and starting to cack myself now. Been getting period pains on and off for couple weeks now, second birth but first time being induced and convinced it's going to be a long old stay until he's out Confused

emma911030 · 13/11/2020 14:49

It's optimistic I guess to join this however I'm 33+1 with twins had app last Friday and my consultant had mentioned he will see me again next Friday if I hadn't had them before then.
I've had horrendous BH and have started losing my plug. Sometimes I leak a little bit it doesn't smell like waters so haven't worried so much. Last few days I've been feeling 'different' but can't really pin point exactly what is different/changed.
I keep getting pressure of what feels like there's a lot of weight pushing down on a balloon of water so I panic thinking shit, waiting for the gush of water but it is yet to happen. I'm hopefully getting a date at next weeks app for induction/section, twin 1 is head down and has been for about 6 weeks now I'm preying he stays that way so I can have induction rather than section! This is my second pregnancy and I'm about done now to be honest lol as long as they're healthy currently estimated at approx 4lb each (at last week app) I don't mind if they make an appearance, I know I'm already lucky to have got to this point! Good luck ladies!!

Whatinthename20 · 13/11/2020 16:19

Im 39 weeks today and sometimes when I wee in the middle the night I get period pain in my lower back and pelvis for about five minutes then it stops. Doesn’t happen in the day thoughConfused

Worrier85 · 13/11/2020 16:23

I'm 40+3 today, have had period cramps on and off for a couple of weeks but continuous since last night and absolutely exhausted so hoping it means something might happen soon

Minkies13 · 13/11/2020 16:29

I'm 41+3 today and only just now feeling very over it. Induction booked for Sunday. I'm knicker watching for every little symptom. Been losing my plug for the last week. Had my bloody show. Now I'm just waiting for waters to go.

Rash23 · 13/11/2020 16:31

@bc2992 my induction date is also sunday! We still have time dont give up just yet I've been rolling on my ball like theres no tomorrow 😂 Inductions are so circumstantial I wouldn't worry too much about it, I've read plenty of stories of people being in and out within 24hrs as much as the ones that stay in. The period pains sound promising though and as it's your second hopefully that will set you up for a easier time

@Worrier85 sounds like it could be the start of something I have my fingers crossed for you! Keep us updated on the cramps

Rash23 · 13/11/2020 16:39

@Minkies13 ah bless you, you can really drive yourself up the wall trying to spot any little thing. I couldn't even imagine being that far along and still being on the lookout hold in there not long now! At least the show is something in the right direction. Looks like alot of us could have babies over the next week exciting to see who will be the first to pop Grin

Anyone resorted to any natural induction methods? Would be interesting to see if it works

OP posts:
Stargazer87 · 13/11/2020 16:44

How far do they generally let you go over before needing to be induced? Also would an induction mean that a water birth is out of the question?

JustFrigginNameChange · 13/11/2020 16:48

38+4: no signs yet, baby 2/5ths engaged. Midwife seemed confident baby should have arrived before our next appointment in 2 weeks

peachypetite · 13/11/2020 16:49

I’ve just done hypnobirthing by the positive birth company online and there was a great video busting the whole due date thing. It’s an estimate and better to think of baby being due from a range of weeks up to 42 weeks. I’ll be avoiding induction at all costs.

Stargazer87 · 13/11/2020 16:59

Also keen to avoid an induction! I feel like I'm in the weird in between stage where I don't want the baby to come just yet as I don't feel quite prepared but at the same time I don't want to reach the point of needing to be induced...

JustFrigginNameChange · 13/11/2020 17:01

I don't want another induction either :( I'd like to experience it all naturally, and I'm slightly envious of those women that have

peachypetite · 13/11/2020 17:15

I don’t think we will ever feel ready. It’s such a huge life changing event! Hospital bags are packed and plenty of meals in the freezer.

Stargazer87 · 13/11/2020 17:23

I was wondering if you ever really feel ready...maybe not! 🙈

kkr168 · 13/11/2020 17:42

I'm 38+1 been having lots of period like cramps & lightning crotch (the joys) but no other signs.

Rash23 · 13/11/2020 17:52

@Stargazer87 I think it depends on if your pregnancy is risk free, if the baby is well and happy things like that. If theres no signs by 40 weeks that things are getting a move on that's when they may start to suggest it. No one wants to go over 42 weeks

Oatmilk1 · 13/11/2020 18:05

@Stargazer87

It does vary by trust but at my hospital it is that I can be booked in for an outpatient induction (24 hr pessary then go home) at 41+5 and come back the next day and still give birth on MLU provided I dont need the drip...

This was discussed at my 40w appt (and booked in just in case)... I am hopeful not to need it!
