Thought it would be fun to start a thread where we can all drive each other crazy analysing every little twinge and pain together 😂 hopefully we can all keep each other company whilst we wait for the show to go on the road! I'm 38 weeks plus and very Impatinetly awaiting little ones arrival in the hopes of escaping an induction. Heres to hoping it all kicks off for us!

Very nearly 39 weeks with number 2.
Desperate to avoid an induction this time. Narrowly avoided the suggestion of one this week at a growth scan.

Rash23 · 13/11/2020 18:49

@kkr168 the lightening crotch is a weird one. That's the only symptom I've been really having but it's gone from being once here and there to consistent moments for the past 2 weeks....very strange. Babys head is already engaged so I dont know if it's her snuggling further down or a nerve being pressed

@peachypetite to be honest I think packing our hospital bags is the only thing we can do to feel ready at this point. Im strangely calm about sunday but I when I start to think about potentially having a baby I get overwhelmed so denial it is 😂

Stargazer87 · 13/11/2020 21:19

I'm the same, I'm prepared with hospital bags, food in freezer etc, just finding the thought of having an actual baby to look after overwhelming, can't believe it's going to become a reality so soon, doesn't feel real! 🙈

RestorationInsanity · 13/11/2020 21:45

I have sort of started putting stuff for the hospital in a bag but that's it 😂 I think it's a sort of denial "if it's packed, it means the baby could come, and I'm not ready for that, so I won't do it". Totally pointless since the baby will come when it bloody well wants! I have really uncomfortable period type pains tonight. I think the baby is just taking up every available space and crushing everything!

Stargazer87 · 13/11/2020 22:41

@RestorationInsanity I completely get the denial thing, I'm the same! Also having period pains tonight. Wish our bumps would come with some sort of status update to let us know what was happening and how long we have left! 🤣

Rash23 · 13/11/2020 22:49

@Stargazer87 same here. are you a ftm also? I think that doesnt help with the disbelief, I'm still trying to get my head around the fact that a tiny human is about to come out of me. I know we just have to trust our bodies since we were made for this, but I'm genuinely baffled as to how my tiny 5ft self is going to be able to do this! Are the period pains consistent? I'm getting excited for you because I still have zero symptoms over here

OP posts:
Stargazer87 · 14/11/2020 06:30

@Rash23 Yes also a ftm, completely know what you mean about the disbelief that there's a fully formed baby inside me, there's been a few babies born in our NCT group this week and every time I look at the photos and think how did they fit in (or get out!) they look so big! I'm only 5f1 myself...The period pains are very off and on and inconsistent so not sure if they mean anything!

Pukeymama · 14/11/2020 06:53

Morning! I'm 38+3 with no signs of impending labour yet, midwife said baby is so far down but also said this doesn't really mean anything as it's my second so the muscle memory allows the baby to drop sooner and stay there longer 🙄 booked for a sweep on Wednesday as due to a previous EMSC (following spontaneous start to labour) they'd like me to not go over due date (no induction allowed so would be straight to a section).

I love threads like this and hearing of all the symptoms. Even though I've been through it before I still haven't got off of Google!

Babyevictionimminent · 14/11/2020 12:01

Joining the waiting game. Second time for me and I’ve also been googling everything I feel. I had really clear signs that something was going to happen in the 24 hours before my first labour, so I feel in a hyper vigilant state looking for those signs again. Think it’s just causing me stress though!

Pink15 · 14/11/2020 12:06

39 weeks and also waiting here!! Braxton hicks is my only sign so far but don't think it means anything

RestorationInsanity · 14/11/2020 12:06

@Stargazer87 haha yes like a sort of traffic light system, red for no where near, amber for you've got between 1 and 2 weeks and green for sometime in the next 48 hours 😂

Stargazer87 · 14/11/2020 12:49

@RestorationInsanity Yes something like that would be extremely useful! 🤣

Pink15 · 15/11/2020 11:07

How's everyone doing today? I'm bored and reading into every possible sign... again...

peachypetite · 15/11/2020 11:12

I’m feeling chilled. I’ve done a la leche breastfeeding class and just looking over notes. Yesterday had an afternoon nap. Will never have this much time to ourselves again so should enjoy it instead of wishing time away.

Whatinthename20 · 15/11/2020 12:34

I had some intense pain down there last night, it felt like baby’s head was literally trying to escape. I also had some on and off tight pains right in front of my bladder. Not sure if this was braxton hicks or not? It eased off after an hour, but at the time I literally couldn’t move! Nothing since this morning! Anyone else had something like this?

Pink15 · 15/11/2020 12:47

@Whatinthename20 I've had braxton hicks where my belly feels tight but not painful. Sounds promising though maybe it was the head moving further down??

Pink15 · 15/11/2020 12:48

@peachypetite I know what you mean but lockdown this whole year has given me MORE than enough time to myself 🤣

Stargazer87 · 15/11/2020 12:58

Feeling tired today and having a few pains, I don't think it's anything exciting to report though, been having them on and off for a few days now but they never develop into anything...

peachypetite · 15/11/2020 13:04

Haha I know what you mean but our lives are about to change forever!! Also know that stressing isn’t good at this point!

roarfeckingroarr · 15/11/2020 13:09

Aw my DS is four weeks old now and I already miss symptom spotting ahead of meeting him for the first time. Congratulations and best wishes all of you.

user1487755366 · 15/11/2020 13:25

I'll join too...36+3 with DCDA twins have been having tightenings and cramps since Thursday night. CTG picked up some contractions on the Friday - nothing much happened on Saturday then really intense cramping started at about 4 this morning. They're an average of 20-30 minutes apart and I've also had to poo loads with some soft poo- almost diarrhoea (sorry TMI). I'm booked for a ELCS next Friday but not convinced I'll make it that long.

rorosemary · 15/11/2020 14:18

37+2 here. Will start induction via ballooncatheter on friday (38+0) and have been waiting 7 years to get to this point so feel that I shouldn't/don't deserve to complain since I'm going to have a much longed for child where others stay infertile but I'm also so done with being pregnant. I feel uncomfortable and if I have to go through childbirth anyway then sooner rather than later. I want to start getting my body back. It still feels weird that there's a whole other person inside of me. Sometimes I dream that it's just not true 😳. And although I feel huge it just doesn't seem like a whole baby fits inside there.

Stargazer87 · 15/11/2020 15:36

@rorosemary I completely understand what you mean, mine is also a much longer for pregnancy however I really don't feel like I've enjoyed the pregnancy experience, especially being in lockdown and feeling like I've missed out on all the normal pregnancy things. I'm also looking forward to getting my body back and also enjoying a nice glass of wine!

Whatinthename20 · 15/11/2020 21:20

For the past two nights when im bouncing on my ball I get sharp shooting pains in my cervix area. It takes my breath away. It goes away when I’m lying down. When I get up I just waddle! Hope this is just baby getting lower down in the pelvis?Confused
