How many pregnancies, how many babies? (TW)

Not starting this thread to scare or upset anyone, so please don't read any further if talking about miscarriage might upset or worry you! Only asking because I've seen a couple of high profile people talk about their MCs recently and it's highlighted to me how common they are and that people just don't talk about them so they feel rare. I sort of knew this in theory, but it's really hit home. It seems there are very few (lucky) people who have had several healthy babies and no losses.

So, if you're comfortably answering, how many pregnancies have you had and how did they end?

I count myself as having had 1 pregnancy which thankfully gave me my little boy. I also had an unplanned CP but it was such an early loss (my period started just 3 days late after 1 faint line) and I was so emotionally unattached that I really didn't feel like I'd had a MC at all, so I don't really count it.

An early miscarriage in between having them (8 weeks).
Two terminations. One when I was young and stupid. One in my late thirties, when my coil failed Angry.

7 pregnancies
3 live births

4 loses ranging from cp to stillbirth at 35+2 or 36 weeks depending on when no heartbeat was seen or when he was born.

For those who lost their babies between around 10 weeks, did they say why? I know they say that something like 25% of pregnancies end in miscarriage but when I looked further at the stats, at 10 weeks, the chances of a miscarriage is about 2%. Therefore surely there must have been something that went seriously wrong? I had a miscarriage a few months ago at 10 weeks and all they could tell me is, it happens. I wish I knew as I can't stop thinking that it was probably something that I did
Absolutely nothing you did Flowers

13 pregnancies, 4 children.
All losses between 10 and 16 weeks. I was between 22 and 30 yrs.

3 pregnancies 2 babies over 8 years of trying to conceive.

1st and 3rd were relatively straightforward births with our girls, although not without their concerns along the pregnancy. Born when I was 28 and 34.
2nd was a late MMC at 18 weeks of our little boy when I was 31.

I lost my 3rd child at 10 weeks. I'd done nothing wrong. My baby died due to a chromosomal anomaly that meant it couldn't develop further and so died. I carried that baby till 15 weeks as the placenta continued to grow. My other 2 losses were due to hormone imbalances in me that meant my body just didn't accept the pregnancy anymore.

Two pregnancies, two children. I am grateful every day.

Please don't allow this thread to make you doubt trying for another child if you want to, however. It will not be representative of the general population.

Queenofthemadouse · 14/11/2020 15:39

5 yrs trying.. 2 miscarriages .
Then 1 baby
Then another baby !
Then one late miscarriage
... then 4 years later last baby . !

A long haul but the silver lining meant I never had to use contraception..

Ultimately it took 12 years to get 3 fabulous babies .

Trickyboy · 14/11/2020 18:12

First baby 31
