Congrats to all those who have had their beautiful babies already!

Just wanted to see if any of you ladies have experienced the following yet? I am 37 weeks today and was making a brew this morning and suddenly got really sharp twinges/pains low down in my abdomen and crotch area. Tried walking around etc and they wouldn't stop other than when I sat down. Each time I move they flare up again and before when I went for a wee I finished weeing and then felt like a pop inside me. When I wiped it was clear but no obvious gush or leak of waters. I'm a FTM and so have no idea what I should be looking out for or expecting so any advice would be appreciated! I don't want to call the midwife unnecessarily if it's not anything to be worried about but then would also be good to put my mind at ease

I'm still waiting, also due in 2 days time.

I have my sweep today at 1pm which I'm dreading more & more the closer it's getting.

@FTM1512 I've had the same, the midwife called them fanny daggers 😂 I get them often when going from sitting to standing & vice versa. I've not had a pop though & that's a sound alot of people mentioned hearing when there waters have gone. Personally I'd put a maternity pad on & wait it out an hour, if it's your waters I'd imagine they will carry on leaking, the hospital will then be able to swab the pad if needed.

@kkr168 ahaha that's so funny I'm going to start calling them that from now on 😂 good idea will put one on and see if anything happens! Still a little early for having her so I'm hoping it's not and she can carry on a bit longer.

I have been told though at my last growth scan which was at at 34+6 that she is a big baby measuring on the top line and they estimated she was about 6 pound 7 at the time! I have another scan next Monday to see how big she'll be and to see if I need to be induced so quite nervous for that!

We will stick with each other till the last baby makes their appearance!!!🤣

Just had a phone call for my 40 week midwife appointment to be rescheduled for 5 days after it was meant to be, bit gutted as that's when I was going to get a sweep. Feel like the further along I am the less chance I'll be able to avoid an induction 😕

I'm still waiting, due tomorrow but no signs of baby at all, got a sweep on Thur

@phe694 I think I’ve lost some of mine last week. It was like clear jelly a few times after I’d been to the toilet (sorry if TMI) x

Hey to all the mamas-in-waiting. God this bit is annoying and boring isn’t it?

Rant/moan alert - I’m struggling with basically my body starting to fall apart. I have carpal tunnel in both hands, sciatica, insomnia, Braxton Hicks, backache from baby being engaged... I’m really ready to have my body back now. On top of that I have no motivation to do anything except lie in bed all day or graze everything from the kitchen cupboards. Rant over.

I need to get moving today to try to encourage this baby out. And I have 1001 hi ha I had planned to get done today too. Just need to give myself a shake I think.

@excitednerves I hear you! Just tried to go for a walk and lasted 20 minutes. The pressure in my groin is unreal and my back is killing today! Hanging on in there with you X

Had the sweep done, wasn't the nicest experience, she asked if the student midwife could have a try too, I had to say no.
She said it was a very good sweep, cervix was open so she had a good sweep around baby's head, cervix is 2cm long? & Soft.
I've been told to have sex tonight & do some nipple stimulation 🤣

@PipTed i think i lost mine this morning, i'm due on friday 🙈

@kkr168 I think I’d have said no to that too! Eeek, I’m dreading the thought of a sweep, never mind letting two people have a go! I know they’ve got to learn somehow but preferable not on me! Good luck with getting baby moving!

@PipTed thanks for the solidarity. I’ve had a long hot shower, deep conditioned my hair and going to pop to the supermarket for a few things. Maybe I need to fake feeling good so my body believes it!

I thought my waters had gone last night, woke my husband up, called the labour ward....... but waters didn't fill a pad and was only a trickle, they said it was probably wee?!? Nice! Pregnancy is so bloody glamorous!

@danielasummer that happened to me, except I soaked through my pyjamas, went straight in at about 11pm only to be told it was an infection which had likely caused a gush of discharge (I’m reading that as a polite way of saying probably wee, although I did have an infection) Mortifying.

I'm still waiting 👋🏼 booked for a c section at 39+5 next Friday but hoping he makes an appearance before then on his own.. every night I think tonight is the night, then wake up still pregnant 🤣

I’m massively struggling with the breastfeeding. She’s showing no interest in latching despite hours of skin to skin.

Just curious to know if you all have names chosen for your babies or if you have some ideas and will choose once they’re born? Hope you’re all well and these little babies make an appearance soon! x
