@PipTed - I got stuck in for several hours after my 38 week appointment and got fed a cheese sandwich - I was very well looked after!
@viixie - Always call, they're always lovely.
@LRHRN - Good luck today! :-)
@danielasummer - I've been getting a lot of similar anxiety tbh: I had it before going back to school and then again once I finished for maternity leave - in my case my mental health was actually much improved whilst I was at work (at an inner city secondary school, in a global pandemic... my brain is clearly odd). I already have quite a few strategies for filtering my anxiety-brain thoughts from what are reasonable worries but definitely raise it with your midwife if it is becoming intrusive or distressing: they're there to help :-)

I am 40 weeks today. This baby is showing no sign of going anywhere. I've tried telling it to come out but it doesn't seem to be listening.

PipTed · 21/11/2020 12:57

@viixie I’ve never heard of that before?! Maybe they’re having a busy weekend and GP is a local hub? X

Asianchick6693 · 21/11/2020 13:11

@LRHRN @PipTed thanks guys, just rang in. They told me to wear a maternity pad and update them in 1.5hours as I've had some watery discharge. They also said it could be practice contractions which can happen for weeks so not any different to the advice you girls have given thank you! I also threw up not long after getting off the phone -_- not feeling my best. I think it's just down to the exhaustion. We'll see what happens.

@danielasummer it's completely understandable but sometimes all you need is a second even third person just reassuring you. I feel like I drive my husband mad sometimes lol glad your appointment is not too far away now x

excitednerves · 21/11/2020 13:43

@LRHRN good luck today. Hope everything goes smoothly for you!

@EithneBlue I was the same, was really nervous about returning to work then loved it and when I went back on maternity a couple of weeks ago it hit me really hard, like I’d lost my identity. Anxiety works in weird ways.

@MrsSmith2020 glad I’m not the only one with all the emotions!

MsBee13 · 21/11/2020 14:59

@LRHRN Good luck for today! Almost there xx

Whatinthename20 · 21/11/2020 15:03

Had a good stretch and sweep yesterday and lost my mucus plug this morning. Not a single contraction or anything though.

MsBee13 · 21/11/2020 15:03

Hi ladies. I'm 39+2 today and still no signs of labour. Not even Braxton Hicks anymore! Not any other pains, nothing. Baby is moving but changed the pattern totally. Now more active during the day rather than mornings and evening as before. Anybody the same? I feel like everybody has something going on already and I'm just here sitting and waiting x

loobeelou · 21/11/2020 16:06

@MsBee13 I was the same with DS, I was watching for every sign that he was on the way and nothing. Then out of no where at 40 + 10 my water broke and contractions started.

I'm 35 weeks today and have been noticing BH for the last few weeks, especially when I'm tired. Might be because it's no2 🤷🏻‍♀️

excitednerves · 21/11/2020 16:11

@MsBee13 not much going on here either. Some braxton hicks but nothing that looks anything like labour sadly. I’m so uncomfortable now

kkr168 · 21/11/2020 16:31

I've been ill today, sick when I woke up, spent most of the day on the loo, no appetite, very tired. Hoping it means labour is imminent but more then likely the curry we had last night!!

Midwife told me if no baby, they will need to induce me at 41+5. I really wish he comes before that x

I uncomfortable too. Funny enough, the only time of the day when I'm comfy is when I'm sleeping. Not talking about waking up for bathroom during the night but sleeping has been brilliant for me x

LRHRN · 21/11/2020 17:19

Just a little update ladies.
Just had an examination and sweep and I'm 2cm so I can skip the pessary stage and go straight to having my waters broken and a drip.
Just waiting for a bed to come free 😬

loobeelou · 21/11/2020 17:49

Good luck @LRHRN

@MsBee13 my induction was booked for later that day but my water broke in the morning.
Fingers crossed you start before hand 😊

Babyhope98 · 21/11/2020 18:03

Ahh so exciting 🤩 @LRHRN

A cheese sandwich too! Lucky!

New baby on thread VERY soon. 🥰
PipTed · 21/11/2020 18:39

So I have a Very stupid question

How do you actually time contractions? I know there are apps and stuff, but wouldn’t mind knowing.

EithneBlue · 21/11/2020 19:30

@PipTed ... I was hoping that whatever app I download tells me this 😂

@LRHRN - That's great news! I hope it's all going well for you :-)

Babyevictionimminent · 21/11/2020 19:30

Good luck @LRHRN, hopefully you get a bed soon and things move fast!

Things have well and truly stalled here. I’m eating like a horse and having lots of Braxton Hicks, but no contractions. Sleeping really well overnight and just generally feeling quite normal!

@PipTed most the apps for contractions have a start/stop button so you just press it when you feel one building and then press it again when it eases off. If you’d rather not use an app then you can just note down the time of each contraction and partner can work it out from there. I think rather than timings it can be more useful to go with how you’re coping. It’s time to go to hospital when you want to throw your phone, and said app, at a wall.

excitednerves · 21/11/2020 19:34

@LRHRN glad it’s gone quickly so far! Good luck for the safe arrival of baby!

MsBee13 · 21/11/2020 20:39

I downloaded Freya app. Heard it's very good and helps with breathing too x

Great news! 🤞🏼
PipTed · 21/11/2020 20:44

Thanks guys. I have downloaded the freya app - I’ve done the pbc course so makes sense to get it anyway.

Had a curry and I’m absolutely stuffed-my stomach is killing! What a cliche if it sends me into labour tonight!
