MsBee13 · 18/11/2020 22:12

@december2020 Congratulations 🥳 xx

Snowwhite2020 · 18/11/2020 22:23

@december2020 congratulations! Fantastic news that your baby is here and the actual labour relatively straight forward! Nightmare about the care you received (or didn’t receive)... glad you’re through it xx

MsBee13 · 18/11/2020 23:33

A bit random question - do you know if it’s safe to burn scented candles (Yankee) around the babies, especially newborn? Or having reed diffusers around? Just concerned about the smell/smoke, if it has any impact on babies or their breathing. Thanks x

Nic2908 · 18/11/2020 23:54

@december2020 congratulations!!!!!!

Amyyy1 · 19/11/2020 03:11

I can't decide if my waters have just broken or not? FTM and only 38+1 so I was expecting to go over due a bit although hoping she came early. I haven't even had a show yet but I'd just been for a wee and sat in bed waiting for my DP to come back up to bed from letting the dog out and a small gush came out of me. It wasn't enough to soak the bed but it soaked my knickers quite well. I really don't think its wee as it doesn't smell like it but I'm not having contractions or anything yet other than the same pain I've been having lower down for a few days???

Asianchick6693 · 19/11/2020 04:13

My contractions have moved to 4 minutes apart and they're getting pretty strong and intense. It all feels too good to be true but still no show or waters breaking. Strange! Have been advised to go in when they are 3 minutes apart. Ugh I feel drained have not slept all night.

Nic2908 · 19/11/2020 06:16

@Asianchick6693 good luck
@Amyyy1 ring may if not already sure they wouldn't mind. Hope you are doing well.

LRHRN · 19/11/2020 06:43

@december2020 congratulations ❤️ gorgeous name.

@Asianchick6693 hopefully things progress quickly for you 😬

@Amyyy1 phone triage and explain what happened, put a pad in cause they will want to check it's your waters. If it is they will carry on leaking.

@babybumpxox welcome 😊 lots of mums on here will be able to help you as quite a few have deliver via csection in the last couple of weeks.
I can understand why you are nervous cause I would be too, I'm being induced on Saturday and I feel anxious and it's my third baby. I think it's pretty natural as so many things go through your head. You'll be absolutely fine and will have your beautiful baby before you know it ❤️

peachypetite · 19/11/2020 06:44

@Asianchick6693 and @Amyyy1 good luck ladies!

Nic2908 · 19/11/2020 07:00

Guys I've woken up this morning feeling scared of giving birth. No idea why. Seeing midwife today. 36+2. Is it normal to feel like this??

peachypetite · 19/11/2020 07:05

@Nic2908 I don't think there's a single person on here who hasn't had those fears! I have done hypnobirthing by the positive birth company, was only £39 and it really has made me feel much calmer about birth. I'm still nervous but I have a much better understanding of the role of hormones, and how to try and maximise my chances of a better labour.

kkr168 · 19/11/2020 07:29

I woke up at 1am in agony, not from labour (I wish) but from this awful carpel tunnel. It just seems to be getting worse & worse, the pain was unbearable & nothing would ease it, just holding onto the hope it will vanish once baby arrives.

Kj1010 · 19/11/2020 07:57

@Asianchick6693 I had contractions and no waters broke when I was in labour with my son and they had to break them so you could progress in labour without them breaking and @amyyy1 again the same thing with my last my daughter my waters broke but no labour pains at all had to be induced with drip to get labour going but had her hour later so even with waters going doesn't mean labour is happening

PipTed · 19/11/2020 08:23

This final bit is so hard! The suspense is killing me! How do we take our minds off d-day when we’re this close?!

I’m 39 weeks today, feel like a ticking clock. stopped looking for any signs now as I just feel disappointed when things don’t progress - feeling so deflated!

Kj1010 · 19/11/2020 08:41

@pipted it sure is hard isnt it I havent even packed bag yet my little one is still high extended breech so have been booked in for csection on 7th December so am.thinking i have time lol plus dont want to pack as if I'm in for few days then go on to have him naturally and have way to much stuff and visversa lol

MrsSmith2020 · 19/11/2020 08:47

I'm so tired of not sleeping.
I feel exhausted and baby isn't even here yet!
36+1 and I have 3 weeks of work left.

Anyone else really struggling to sleep at night? I'm shattered and so emotional 😭

Kj1010 · 19/11/2020 09:12

@mrssmith2020 yes I do struggle to sleep but for the last couple of nights have been ok I finished work last friday and I've gotta say since I have and now waking up that bit later I feel better within myself I'm 36+4 just try to get as much naps in as u can to help if ur not sleeping of a night xx

danielasummer · 19/11/2020 09:19

Just read through a few pages of this thread and it's put such a smile on my face to see the amazing birth announcements!! Congratulations to you both @december2020 and @Pinktruffle - wonderful news, making me so excited for mine now!!

@MrsSmith2020 yes - me! I'm really struggling, I must wake up at least 12 times a night needing the loo as well, and as I'm trying to stay on my left side I get such awful cramps. Hope you manage to get a few naps in - I will be!

Girls I've had a horrendous night of pain but now my contractions have stopped or they come but go away quickly and are spaced out again. Is this normal? It felt like things were progressing last night I was finding it difficult to handle them and now nothing? I feel ridiculous because got DH to work from home today and I managed to get some sleep in too. My stomach is still sore.

alphabetti · 19/11/2020 09:42

I’m currently 37+2 and if don’t go into labour naturally before I have induction booked 39+1, it’s a precaution as I’m diabetic and baby on smaller side plus I’m 37 so they say placenta may start to fail. I have to try a stretch and sweep by community midwife at GP surgery 38+2, I don’t live too far away - 10/15min walk 5mins in car what would be best - drive there or walk? I just don’t know whether il feel uncomfortable/crampy afterwards or if nothing likely to happen so soon after it. I’ve never had one before.

Congratulations to everyone who has had their babies! With my oldest I never had any show and my waters hadn’t broken by time I was pushing so midwife broke them and he was born very soon afterwards. With my 2nd I lost a big lump of mucus 3 days before going into labour and waters broke naturally just before starting to pushing her out.

I’m so so nervous about being induced especially as I will have a 14yr age gap so consultant said body resets itself after 10yrs so it makes me worry I might be in for a long ride but I’m hoping things go smoothly.
