@ChampooPapi they are so lovely.
I love how chubby they got 😍🥰
So big and looking like proper little people!!!! Time flies.

@TerribleImagination you definitely have the right attitude!!! Love the strength and positive thinking! You go girl 💪
Good luck tomorrow morning x

ChampooPapi · 22/01/2021 20:34

Sending you @SunnySideUp2020 a big virtual un-mumsnetty cuddle, I can't wait to see your next bump update, woman you are looking fantastic 🥰. The time on the conception boards we spent and here you are very very pregnant and me juggling twins (well not actually juggling as they would chunder which is their favourite thing to do when you least expect it!). Have you decided on a few names yet? Do you and your husband agree on the style or tradition or have you been baffled by his suggestions ? Men certainly get some funny ideas when it comes to naming tiny humans 😬

SunnySideUp2020 · 22/01/2021 20:43

@ChampooPapi hahah big virtual hug back!
We do have a name.
Tbh the issue was with the last name... i won't bore you with details but basically in his country (where we live now temporarily) last names are conjugated according to sex. So her last name won't be mine or his but a female variant of his.
I categorically refused. After some arguments about traditions and my language my country blablabla and some exchange with immigration office i am told "But it's the law, no exception". Honestly it angers me so much. Anyway we will register her at the French consulate (my country) and she will be given his exact surname. Then they can do whatever the hell they want with her name spelling here. She will have a French passport with OUR family name. And her other citizenship can stay in the drawer until she is old enough and wants to deal with the name issue 😅
And sorry i did end up boring you with details.
Baffling though isn't?

ChampooPapi · 22/01/2021 20:44

@SunnySideUp2020 i wrote that post to you before your lovely reply about the cute wrigglers. We jinx posted 🙏.

I can't wait to see your little lady, even just a foot, I'm still baby crazy even after the twin bomb in our lives. In the end they are bloody cute, the first 12 weeks should definitely not be taken as 'how it's going to be' . It can be a bit much but babies really do only get easier as they grow, they are just so feeble and useless at first 😂

As long as you meet their basic needs and your own everyone will get through to the gorgeousness that is a lovely little chubby cherub phase but WITH sleep and actuall clothes on rather then pyjamas stained with bean juice and baby posset

ChampooPapi · 22/01/2021 20:49

@SunnySideUp2020 oh my god what a ridiculous situation they have in that she would end up with a different 'family name' essentially and obviously this whole female version is a kind of patriarchal thing which is frustrating for you as a woman dealing with it. So good your husband is on board with registering her in the French consulate, it just makes sense for her above anyone else doesn't it!

Whiffle77 · 23/01/2021 13:01

We have had had similar sleeping the past few nights @ChampooPapi, its knocked me for six! Ive spent ages googling to check he is ok as it seems so crazy! Trying to just enjoy it whilst it lasts as I am sure it will change very quickly. Jabs on Monday and doctors check up so that will likely disconcert him.
We use a different app for feedings which is helpful, I am BF - like you say time has no meaning any more and often I think its been ten mins since his last feed and then find out its been a few hours! And then other times it has just been half an hour but yes he really is hungry again! I haven't been doing one for sleep, have downloaded huckleberry to start using as realised he often is awake for too long in the day, so trying to pay a bit more attention to that. Things slowly feel like we are heading into almost a routine (I'm sure i will regret saying that...) - maybe my head is popping out the trench?!
Your girls are gorgeous!! So yummy, they have grown up so much!
@TerribleImagination sending you lots of good vibes today, hoping you at least have a relaxing day if things aren't moving in the right direction.
@SunnySideUp2020 the name situation seems crazy! Im glad you have come to an agreement you are happy with, it sounds very frustrating.

@MilsCookie hope you had a better night last night, I think we can say we have all been there with the crying and begging...you're a warrior and it will get so much better. And if not this thread is here!

SunnySideUp2020 · 24/01/2021 11:52

@TerribleImagination
How are you doing lovely?
Hope you okay and met your baby girl x

AlviesMam · 24/01/2021 12:24

Hi everyone!
I've missed this thread so much!
I feel like I need to make more time for you guys but my days are so busy and non stop.
I've had a scan through the thread, we have two more rainbow babies on the verge of being born wow!!
I can believe in a months time I would have posted on the the TTC thread that I have my positive test where has that time gone?!
@MilsCookie @ChampooPapi how are the gorgeous twins?
@BS9790 @FireflyGirl How are you both getting on long time no speak!
Paisley is doing so well - she's found her hands and is non stop sucking them, doesn't have a dummy so I think her hands are her self soothe/comfort haha. She had a good week of sleeping 10-5 but now she's started waking for a 2/3am feed again. She knows bedtime is 10pm which is good! But I'm not being strict with any routine I am just going with it Grin
Her smile lights up my world I cannot wait for her first real giggle!
How are you all coping with this lock down?
Sending love and hugs to you all.
Here is a pic of paisley from yesterday Grin

@TerribleImagination hope everything has gone ok for you and you are now enjoying being with your new little bundle!! Thinking of you!xx

@AlviesMam and @ChampooPapi aw such gorgeous pictures 😍😍 can't believe how big they are getting!!

@AlviesMam is there a reason you decided not to use a soother? I was brought up never being allowed one as my mum was very anti them (although I was obsessed with trying to steal other babies ones as a toddler😄).
I haven't decided yet wether or not to use one..I've read about dental issues and that's swaying me towards not as myself and siblings (5 of us) all have perfect teeth and never needed braces. My DH is more of mindset of if we need to use one we will as he had one and his teeth are also good (although his sis did need braces) and if baby is crying enough we're going to want all the tools we can use to stop it!!

@Fizzl how are you doing? Still clear of all covid symptoms? Any date for your 20 week scan? Can't believe you are nearly there already!! We've been working on the nursery all weekend and nearly finished. I'm really happy with it..I'll post pics when we're finished..hopefully tomorrow!

@SunnySideUp2020 that is the oddest thing with the name situation! Thank god you are able to register her as French!

@MilsCookie hope your ladies have been settling a bit more since your last post. It sounds soo tough having twins!! xx

AlviesMam · 25/01/2021 10:02

@Leok83
If I am honest Paisley is so chilled out and rarely crys (touch wood) she's never really needed one so I've just never gave her one. She's found her hands now and I've had advice to say let her keep her hands to self soothe rather than a dummy. I'm not against them and if she needed one or was a testing baby I would totally use them!
I hate to say this when I know other women struggle with their baby crying etc so I'm sorry to come across this way if anyone has struggled with an unsettled baby. She clearly takes after her dad as he is very laid back too lol x

ChampooPapi · 25/01/2021 15:10

@AlviesMam Paisley is so lovely, She is absolutely scrummy! 😍

ChampooPapi · 25/01/2021 15:10

@TerribleImagination thinking of you xx

ChampooPapi · 25/01/2021 15:16

@Whiffle77 so glad your getting some proper rem sleep , it makes such a difference my god! Life goes from black and white to colour again 🙏. How have the jabs gone? I find they actually always seem to sleep better post jabs so I always look forward to them as milestones to reach. We've got 12 week ones tomorrow, I'm weirdly excited as it's the only thing we have 'planned' this week 😆

SunnySideUp2020 · 25/01/2021 17:16

Paisley is beautiful @AlviesMam !!

Fizzl · 25/01/2021 19:36

@AlviesMam ah beautiful picture! She's lovely.

@Leok83 thankfully no covid symptoms and today will be 10 days since exposure so feeling out of the woods for now 😅. We've either had an incredibly lucky escape or we've been asymptomatic! I have been a bit snuffly but I'm pretty sure I've been like this for weeks now and think it's pregnancy related - not covid. It's also two weeks tomorrow since my husband had his vaccine so hopefully that will offer some protection now.

My 20 week scan is 4th feb so not long to go 😬 we've still not told many people as we're holding out for this scan so will be nice to start finally feeling like we can get excited and start getting stuff ready. Cant wait to see your nursery! Have you gone for a theme? The work on our house doesn't start for at least 8 weeks (still waiting for a date 😬) which makes me a little nervous about getting everything done!

@SunnySideUp2020 that does sound complicated re the name situation! Sounds like you've come up with a good plan. We've not really had many discussions about names yet - think we know we won't agree so just avoiding that minefield for now 😂

@MilsCookie that does sound tough - sounds like they're definitely tag teaming and not giving you much time to recharge. I'm sure things will get better as they get a little older and start to get into more of a routine 💐

@ChampooPapi your girls are adorable! They've grown so much already!

@TerribleImagination hope you're getting on ok and your little one has safely arrived

TerribleImagination · 26/01/2021 04:07

Hey everyone! She FINALLY arrived after a 4 day induction, that ended in a c section 🙈

I started on the 24 hour pessary, which did a bit but not much, so moved on to the prostin... my GOD it’s painful! That effaced and dilated me enough for a very experienced and no nonsense midwife to manually break my waters. So then I started on the oxytocin drip and asked for a epidural for that. Progressed to 9cm in 24 hours, but on the final examination my cervix was edemic and baby’s head was still too high and they thought it could be obstructed, so suggested a c section.

So she was born today a hefty 8lbs 14!!!! She’s the cutest little sausage I’ve ever seen and we’re so in love 🥰 Worth every exhausting minute of the last 4 days!
