Thanks ladies @SunnySideUp2020 @BecsterG @Whiffle77 all was ok- had a scan and no sign of any blood clots. My leg is still very sore and red so not sure what I’ve done but they’re not worried. Feel absolutely shattered now, going to have an early night to recover from the stress x

BecsterG · 19/01/2021 19:13

That's good news @scrumdiddly123. I wonder what you've done. Hope you have a good night sleep x

Evening everyone 👋🏼 hope you're all doing ok.

Sorry I'm really rubbish at keeping up at the minute - I don't know where the days are going and I don't even have a baby to look after yet 🤦🏼‍♀️ time is really flying - June still seems forever away yet but when I think I'm almost half way already it's crazy!

Glad to hear it's nothing serious @scrumdiddly123 - not nice to be in pain though!

Lovely to read everyone's updates on how the babies are all doing!

Thinking of you @TerribleImagination hopefully your little one makes an appearance soon!

My current stress this week is my husband was contacted yesterday to let him know that someone he was on training with until Friday last week has tested positive for covid at the weekend😑 I know it's not a given that he will catch it but we kind of feel like sitting ducks now as he was in close contact with them for almost 3 days! It's bloody typical he had the vaccine on Tuesday last week too and he's managed to avoid coming into close contact with any known cases for the past 12months until now - and typically when the vaccine was likely to offer any protection yet 🤦🏼‍♀️. What will be will be I suppose 😬 I've definitely not been googling covid and pregnancy related things all day 🙄

Leok83 · 19/01/2021 22:21

@scrumdiddly123 you poor thing, thankfully it want a clot but not nice to get a scare.

@Fizzl that's a horrible feeling just waiting but hopefully he won't get it. I know a few people who were close contacts and then were negative after so def not a given that he'll get it.
That's good he's got the vaccine took. My DH is a paramedic and still hasn't got the vaccine..ridiculous stuff happening with them here in Ireland. Consultants families getting the vaccine and frontline staff still haven't got it. I'm so angry with them at the moment.

@MilsCookie aw such a milestone to have first smiles! So cute!! Seems like your little ladies are flying it😊 ya can't believe I'm over the 30 weeks now..when I think back to the horrendous sickness of the 1st 16 weeks when it seemed time stood still 30 weeks just seemed like a lifetime away and soon I'll be thinking that when he's here!!

@SunnySideUp2020 it's just the most annoying thing as I expected back pain and pelvic pain (have mild back pain after a hard day at work but no pelvic pain) but I just didn't expect my feet to be the problem!! I had sketchers on at work and had a mental busy week back at start of December which kicked it all off as they were just too flat and no support , bought really good supportive runners since for work but think was too little too late.

@TerribleImagination she is a stubborn girl your baby..obviously she's far too comfortable where she is! Thinking of you and hoping she makes her appearance soon!!

Fizzl · 20/01/2021 16:19

@Leok83 we're keeping everything crossed! He's been very lucky re the vaccine. Police aren't currently a priority but where my husband is based they're using the building next door as a vaccination site so there is an agreement that at the end of each day if there are left over vaccines from where people haven't turned up that they contact the workers on shift to see if they want it rather than it being throw in the bin. It was more a case of being in the right place at the right time!

I'm also angry with you re the rollout. I really hope they get it rolled out to all frontline workers asap - I'm now eligible for one through my work (not having it for obvious reasons) which is totally bonkers as most of us are wfh! We do have to do some visits (when not pregnant) but very easy to maintain distance etc and it's limited/risk assessed. We also have family who work in admin at nhs. Obviously pleased they're getting it and I get they're doing a blanket all nhs staff get vaccinated but there are other who are in much more vulnerable positions who won't be having it for some time yet. I wish they would prioritise health, police and education/teachers personally.

Anyway I'm derailing slightly there 😂 hope you're doing ok other than your aches and pains! Have you got your nursery ready yet?

ChampooPapi · 22/01/2021 08:31

Violet-May has slept 9 untill 5 for the last three nights! A regular dolly parton ! I feel amazing! She started bang on 11 weeks so hang in there @MilsCookie it will happen soon for you, every day and night is a day closer to longer night stretches 🙌

ChampooPapi · 22/01/2021 08:35

Also started using the huckleberry app the last week, finding it useful as I always forget time between feeds and sleeps and it helps as having it as a reference means you can start to space feeds out a bit so they drink more at each one. Mine were becoming 'snackers' as we just fed them any peep they made, obviously the right thing for the first 8 weeks or so but they were becoming used to little and often when I knew after a long snooze in the buggy ect they drank twice as much and the slept twice as long after that

ChampooPapi · 22/01/2021 08:38

It has saved us constantly scratching our heads over the question 'when did....last feed?' or 'when did... Wake up?'

Neither of us could ever remember! Time is very strange in the baby trenches, an hour or two can seem like ten minutes has passed!

MilsCookie · 22/01/2021 13:49

Hey @ChampooPapi - that's great to hear; well done Violet-May! I fear we're a long way off that. We're currently experiencing refluxy, colicky babies and last night I found myself hysterically crying at 4am saying 'please just go to sleep!!' 😩😔 it's taking all the enjoyment out of it at the moment cos it's just so draining. And I wish I could say they slept in the day but there's always one of them awake so I never get to nap. It's pretty horrific at the mo and my brain feels like it's going to implode from the tiredness. We've got their 8 week jabs in an hour as well which will be fun 🤦🏼‍♀️. Any advice? 🙏🙏🙏

Oh yes we love Huckleberry!! Sometimes forget to put the info in but we love it!

MilsCookie · 22/01/2021 13:52

Oooh @TerribleImagination hope you have had baby by now 🤞🏻😍
Thanks for another list @SunnySideUp2020, hope we have some more lovely ladies joining us soon, not many of us preggos left!
@MilsCookie that sounds so hard you poor things. Sleep deprivation is the worst! I hope things improve really soon! Is there someone nearby who could take them out for a walk so you can rest?

TerribleImagination · 22/01/2021 16:09

Still no baby here 🙈 She is one stubborn little sausage! I’m at home with the 24 hour pessary in, so really hoping that kicks things off! If not I’m in delivery suite at 9am tomorrow for the gels 🙈

SunnySideUp2020 · 22/01/2021 16:33

@TerribleImagination
She is faaaaaar too comfy in there!
Eviction notice issued.
Hopefully she gets the message by tomorrow.
Good luck!!!
Is it painful this pessary?

TerribleImagination · 22/01/2021 17:19

@SunnySideUp2020 It hurt going in for sure! She really rammed it in there snug 🙈😩🤢 The only pains I’ve had so far since are the usual period type ones, but some are a bit sharper I’d say. It’s the 24 hour one, so like a tiny tampon basically and they tuck it right in behind your cervix... ouuuch!

SunnySideUp2020 · 22/01/2021 18:15

🤢🤢🤢🤢 oh dear.
Honestly you just described my worst nightmare.
Well hopefully it does the trick, have they talked about c section at all?
Do they give a choice?

ChampooPapi · 22/01/2021 20:15

Oh @TerribleImagination you poor thing! Your going through so much, I really hope as I'm writing this your in active labour but either way your beautiful baby will be in your arms soon and you can snuggle and never have anyone interfering downstairs again ! ( Except in a good way of course). Love and hugs to you 💜💜

TerribleImagination · 22/01/2021 20:15

@SunnySideUp2020 Mine too! I hate internal examinations. Smears make me feel faint! I just practiced hypnobirthing breathing through it!

They haven’t mentioned c section yet, I think they prefer to go through all the steps before that, as long as I remain low risk. I’ll definitely ask them about one though, if it’s looking like she really won’t budge!

TerribleImagination · 22/01/2021 20:18

@ChampooPapi No active labour here sadly! I’m hoping something happens overnight, but definitely telling myself that I’ll be getting the gel tomorrow... so I’m prepared for more interfering and interventions 🙈 Not at all what I wanted for labour or birth, BUT I was always prepared for every eventuality and as long as baby girl gets here safe, then I’ll do whatever I need to do 💪🏻

ChampooPapi · 22/01/2021 20:19

@MilsCookie hang in there I promise it gets better! Week 7 and 8 was the hardest for us, we were coping with the same as you guys , it was proper graft and so so hard . But honestly they naturally just start sleeping better and having more awake time as they reach three months/12 weeks. Massive turning point was 11 weeks our end, day wise and night wise.

Can you separate them and have one each? This was also a game changer for us, apparently a lot of twin parents do this. Just untill they are both sleeping through ish

@TerribleImagination i know it'll be a distant memory soon but it is so horrible all the prodding and inserting and general poking around, by the end I was even some with having my blood pressure checked, you just want out of being manipulated physically in any way after over half a year of your body not being entirely your possession. Your so strong, we are here for you xx
