Ahhhhh LOOK at them!!! @ChampooPapi they're so gorgeous! I still can't believe they're here?! It feels like two minutes ago since you put the photo on of your BFP!! Time has flown this year! Hope you're all doing well at home! 🥰 how does it feel to be the mama of FOUR?! I can't believe I'm going to have 2, let alone 4 haha!

@Whiffle77 ah yeah once you get your head around something you want to stick to that original plan ideally! I can't really do much... I've been spending my days on the sofa watching Netflix! Can anyone recommend anything for my final two weeks?!

Thank you @TerribleImagination - I quite like the date too! Would've liked 20/11/20 as well but the longer they stay in the better of course!

@SunnySideUp2020 thank you for updating the list and my date! Although it says 2021 🤓 no biggy though!!

Can anyone who's had a c section before talk me through what actually happens? I knew I had to have a catheter in, but for some reason always just thought they put it into my bladder through my tummy?! (Idiot!) was speaking time my mum today and she said it has to go up your foof! And of course that totally makes sense but she said it was the size of a pencil/straw which just sounds horrible and uncomfortable!! I know it sounds silly to be worrying about that when my abdomen is also going to be cut open but I just forgot about all the other stuff that has to happen and I feel scared!! 😫

Ejb86 · 10/11/2020 16:11

@MilsCookie You honestly don't feel it!

So for mine, I walked down to the theatre and was asked to wait in a side room til they were ready. When ready, I went in, took my dressing gown off (which they lost! Angry ) and climbed up on to the bed. I don't remember exactly when I got the catheter, but don't think I had it when I walked down, so think they did it when I got there. I had to swing my legs over the side of the bed to have the epidural. Then I laid back down and they got on with it.

What surprised me was how much they had to push and pull me to get him out. I think he was wedged under my ribs. I did get upset at this point because I wasn't prepared for the level of physicality required on their part. The surgeon was quite small and had to ask for a stool to stand on so she could apply more pressure.

Hope this helps Smile

MilsCookie · 10/11/2020 18:25

Thank you @Ejb86... and yeah I have no idea what it's going to be like being pulled and tugged about... I think that might make me wince a bit but I guess I'll just be excited to see the babies at that point! How annoying they lost your dressing gown as well!! 😤

Thank you @SunnySideUp2020!

MilsCookie · 10/11/2020 18:34

@Leok83 tooootally not baby related but can I ask you a vet question please?! My cat has recently started scooting her bum across the floor, mainly after she's jumped off the sofa from a nap. I gave her some worming treatment about a week and a half ago but she's still scooting so I'm thinking maybe it's not worms... what else could it be? I know I need to take her to the vet but it's suuuch bad timing with Covid and the babies coming soon! Could it be something that will get worse the longer it's left? Hope you don't mind me asking you this haha! 🐱

Leok83 · 10/11/2020 18:54

@MilsCookie no worries ask away😂 bum scooting is often a sign of impacted anal glands (they have little glands in their bum at 5 and 8 o clock which smell really bad and should release when they poo so they have a nice individual scent). It's not very common in cats and mostly happens in dogs but have definitely seen a few kitties suffer from it. They rub the bum as it's a little irritating for them. It probably won't get better with them being expressed (pretty much squeeze out the stuff that's in there) but that's best done by a vet. Worst case scenario they can become infected and rupture. If it were me I'd prob get it sorted before the babies arrive as I'd imagine you'll have your hands very full then! And most vets here and likely in the UK are doing a drive through service where you call at car park, they collect the pets in car park and drop back out to the car so you don't have to worry about Covid contact.

On another note that's amazing you have a date now for your section!! So exciting!! Obviously I've never been through a human section but do lots of pet ones, just did a French bulldog today and told the girls at work after that I'd far prefer a section to an episiotomy!! I think just go in with lots of faith in the surgeon as they'll have done so many before and hopefully that will keep your mind at ease.xx

Leok83 · 10/11/2020 19:00

@ChampooPapi aw look at those little beauties!! Soo adorable! 😍

@SunnySideUp2020 thanks for updating the list 😊

@TerribleImagination ya the 20 week scan is such a great milestone to hit! Just feel so much more relaxed about it all now. Can't believe how far along you are now too!

@scrumdiddly123 that's so cool that your DH got to feel kicks already!! Any time I think I feel them and put my hand on my belly everything goes silent down there so my DH will have to wait a while longer!

SunnySideUp2020 · 10/11/2020 19:43

@MilsCookie
My cat had that infected gland thing on the butt. Honestly it was horrible. If you can get it drained before it explodes, do it!
As it's very messy after and you need you give the cat antibiotics and what not... and it's like an open wound.

SunnySideUp2020 · 10/11/2020 19:45

We are almost all in the 20+ weeks!!!
So proud of all of us. 💖💖

scrumdiddly123 · 10/11/2020 20:43

Thanks for doing the list @SunnySideUp2020 good thinking! I can’t believe how far we’ve all come, it’s amazing! Just hope some other ladies get to join us soon x
@MilsCookie eeeee! That’s so exciting having a date! And so soon too, you’re nearly there!
@Whiffle77 so close for you too, this is a very exciting time in here! Hope you have a restful and comfortable last couple of weeks 🙂
@ChampooPapi beautiful girls 🥰🥰 hope you are all getting on ok?

MilsCookie · 10/11/2020 23:27

@Leok83 ouuuuchy that sounds horrible 😢 I'll call the vets tomorrow and try and get her seen. The thing is she seems normal and okay in herself the rest of the time, it's just once or twice a day I catch her doing that scooty thing with her bum! But I definitely don't want it to explode @SunnySideUp2020 😳 is it a quick procedure @Leok83? She also turns her bum to greet us and when she does that her bum/tail always shakes like she's spraying (but nothing comes out). I wonder if that could have caused it? 🤔 Thank you for the reassurance about the c section too haha! (And sorry everyone else for talking about my cats arse on our baby chat!! 🙈🙈🙈)

I'm so proud of us all too @SunnySideUp2020 ... I just desperately want the rest of the girls from the ttc thread to join us ASAP!!

FireflyGirl · 11/11/2020 07:14

Ooh, love the photos of your squidgy babies @ChampooPapi. Absolute darlings 😍

I am on my phone, so can't scroll back through everyone, sorry if I miss anyone.

Thank you for the list @SunnySideUp2020. I can't believe how we're all just storming along, we need some more of the ladies from the thread to join us now so we get some babies next summer.

Fingers crossed for you today @Chickoletta

Yey for having a date @MilsCookie - glad it's not 2021, though. Imagine giving birth to two toddlers!!

Champoo did a thread about what to expect with a c section here, which you might find useful.

I agree with EJB that you probably won't even notice the catheter.

I felt a bit of tugging once they started, but baby was out in less than 5 minutes. It takes then sooooo long to sew you back up, though (worth it in my case - healed beautifully within a week!) when all you want is to sit up and hold your babies! DH got the first cuddles for about 45 minutes before I could get my hands on her!

Hope your cat gets sorted, poor thing. Fwiw, my cat does the wiggly, faux-spraying thing and he's never had an issue with his glands.

SunnySideUp2020 · 11/11/2020 07:21

@FireflyGirl @MilsCookie yeah.... november 2021 birthing two toddlers. Not great 😂😁

Leok83 · 11/11/2020 08:53

@MilsCookie no don't worry the tail wriggling doesn't cause it! Sometimes can just be that they need a higher fibre diet so if it happens again you can try that but as a once off it's a simple procedure to get them emptied. Depending on her nature it shouldn't take long, saying that if she resents if she might need sedation but to empty only takes a couple of minutes to squeeze them if she'll stand still. They won't bother her all the time so that's why shell seem normal otherwise and they only cause pain when they get infected/rupture. Good luck with it😊

Leok83 · 11/11/2020 08:57

@Chickoletta thinking of you for your scan today. xx

mlax · 11/11/2020 11:26

Thinking of you today too @Chickoletta x

Chickoletta · 11/11/2020 11:44

Thanks so much for thinking of me @Leok83, @FireflyGirl and @mlax. Back in the old familiar waiting room at the EPU. Will let you know.

AlviesMam · 11/11/2020 12:25

Baby blues kicking in today. I'm overwhelmed and on cloud 9 but soo emotional x

MilsCookie · 11/11/2020 13:00

That's definitely reassuring @Leok83 and @FireflyGirl, thank you. I've managed to book her an appointment for 6pm this evening. Good luck to the vet trying to squeeze her anal glands (if that's what it is)!! 😳😳😳 there's absolutely no chance she'll stay still for that!!! 😩

Thinking of you @Chickoletta 😘

@AlviesMam it's totally normal for the baby blues to be kicking in... is your husband at home with you? Sending hugs! 😘

I had my second to last scan today before the c section and it was so positive. Little twin has done lots of catching up and is now on the 21st percentile (EFW 3lb 10oz) and big twin is on 57th percentile (4lb 4oz)!! So now only a 15% size discordance between them... the consultant said it's not even really sIUGR anymore because the criteria for that have to be one twin below the 10th percentile and size discordance of more than 21%!!! We are so so happy that things are going so well... we still have the potential genetic issue to worry about when they're born and they will need some time in NICU... but today's outcome was probably as good as it could have been 🙌🏻😃. Only 12 more sleeps! 😱💕💕

AlviesMam · 11/11/2020 13:01

@MilsCookie amazing news I am so excited for you xxxxx

Chickoletta · 11/11/2020 13:28

Scan confirmed what I already knew - another miscarriage. It’s all happened naturally though, which is good.

Feeling so sad, of course, but know I’ll get over this. We have decided not to try again - definitely the right decision, but that’s the hardest part to get over. No rainbow for me.

I remain totally overjoyed for you all and, having already had two amazing kids of my own, know what amazing adventures you have ahead. All the best for your pregnancies and mummyhoods. I’m going to squeeze my big kids even tighter than usual tonight and keep on keeping on. X

mlax · 11/11/2020 14:00

I'm so sorry @Chickoletta 😔 there really are no words when something like this happens but please take care of yourself. Sending you hugs xxxxx

FireflyGirl · 11/11/2020 14:48

I'm so sorry to hear that, Chickoletta. Take care of yourself, lovely ❤❤

MilsCookie · 11/11/2020 15:15

@Chickoletta I am so so sorry 😔 maybe that's how you feel at the moment and it's totally understandable after everything you've been through... but you're also hurting so you might decide to try again in the future when the pain isn't as raw. Look after yourself 😘 xxx

SunnySideUp2020 · 11/11/2020 16:11

Sorry to hear @Chickoletta
Take care of yourself, and i second @MilsCookie i hope that perhaps after you get through this painful time, you can think about trying again. You deserve your rainbow.
Sending hugs x
