OK so the title isn't the best haha but didn't want to lose you all and the other thread is filling fast! Gonna flip between the two to tag everyone and make sure I get the usernames right.

@DPSawMyUsername thinking of you - I’m so sorry. You’re so close to meeting your baby now regardless of how!

calimommy · 12/11/2020 01:08

@DPSawMyUsername I'm sorry. Sweeps have never worked for me either. It's so hard at the end of pregnancy when you are ready for it to be over but anxious af about the process with a few hormones sprinkled in. With my third I was so convinced I would be dilated and favourable at a Dr appointment a few days before I was due and she said I was 1-2cm (standard) and cervix was thick - I cried bitter salty tears all the way home 😂 I hope that either way, induction or section, it goes well for you. Keep us updated!!

I am at the stage which is a distant memory to you all now, I just had my anomaly scan today, all went well and it's still a girl -bizarre to me 😂

DPSawMyUsername · 12/11/2020 15:13

Thank you ladies.
Came in at 11.30, met the 3 nicest midwives ever. Had my anxiety breakdown with them over Monday, they brought in the registrar who was amazing. Gave me my plan and all the next option stages too.

Assessed, 1cm dilated and cervix has lowered and gone soft. Balloon induction they've gone for to try and stay away from hormones so unless something significant happens that'll be checked at 1.30am.
Baby's been monitored again, all is fine, I'm free to roam so I'm on there ball with a decent little set up.
Feel so much better 🙌🏻🙌🏻

Hatepickinganame · 12/11/2020 15:54

Ah @DPSawMyUsername thats fab news, fingers crossed this goes smoothly! What's the balloon like? I'm hoping for that method if induction ends up being my care plan.

@Lola871 hope you're doing well and cuddling a beautiful bundle by now.

29 days until my due date... 5 days til my next scan and hopefully a plan. Convinced she's breech or transverse still, huge hard lump under my ribs and getting kicks really low down... how is everyone else and their bumps/babies?

@Hatepickinganame They already think I've had a show and apparently the constant dull low backache is a good sign to. Cant complain so far.

Insertion was absolutely nothing discomfort wise.
Apart from speculum I didn't feel a thing. Coil insertion gave me more jib. Only annoying bit is having the "hang out" taped to your thigh 😂

Hatepickinganame · 12/11/2020 16:38

Ah thats good to know, thanks! I found the pessary last time just made it soo strong and soo quick, not that quick is bad but it was crazy intense! How you getting on? Is your oh allowed to be with you?

OP posts:
MummyBearBoo · 12/11/2020 17:47

I didn't get anything done for my supposed induction coz I was told that I was totally ready just needed my waters breaking but like @Lola871 I had to wait for a bed I was in at 2pm and was left overnight still waiting for a bed but luckily 5am the next morning my waters broke and my contractions started so they sent me up to the delivery suite and I was in the same room that i had DD1 in 4 and a half years earlier! Xx

Needallthesleep · 12/11/2020 20:11

@calimommy glad your anomaly scan went well, and so exciting you’ll be adding a girl to your family! Do you have any names?

And so pleased to hear your update @DPSawMyUsername. Bring on the baby!! Woop!

Mine has a cold so had a terrible night last night. Up every hour. I’m in bed now, my DH has the baby and is feeding her expressed milk to give me a break. I need to sleep!!

calimommy · 12/11/2020 20:50

@Needallthesleep yes we do have a name or two haha but so odd, I've had a four girls names I always wanted to use, even before I ever had babies, and now I've completely gone off them 😜 I think I wore them out in my mind. DH suggested a name which I had even considered and weirdly (perhaps a prego thing?) He is completely taken with it and I like it too although I'm slow to commit just yet!

calimommy · 12/11/2020 20:52

@Needallthesleep oh I hope you get some rest. The newborn stage is so so exhausting, I'm honestly not really looking forward to it tbh. The evening crying is so hard but at least we probably won't have after school activities to content with this time. Good luck for tonight x

DPSawMyUsername · 12/11/2020 20:52

He can come in at 4cms and this balloon apparently falls out at 3 - 4cms. Twice I've had them check it and they've agreed it's moved down so it's doing something.
They monitor me more than baby just to see the contractions aren't too quick because of the old section and just a quick check that he's coping but everytime I get on the bed for it they seem to die off.
This trust has only recently started using them so I had 2 students watch them insert it 😳 and they're all amazed at the progression it gives.

@Needallthesleep Hope baby feels better soon

professorastrocat · 12/11/2020 21:56

Hi everyone! I've been totally awol this last week or so and I've missed lots!

@DPSawMyUsername I'm so excited for you and I'll be checking my phone now for regular updates. Really hope things are going well and glad you've got some lovely midwives looking after you.

@calimommy so glad your scan is all fine and you got to see your lovely girl 😍

@Needallthesleep ah not a cold! Poor baby and you. And happy 1 month old today to your baby (I only remember this as DD is a month old tomorrow!)

@Hatepickinganame good luck for your scans coming up I've everything crossed she's not transverse or breech

@Wise0wl very excited for you - not long now! Lots of babies arriving now yay!

@Lola871 hoping everything has gone well, look forward to hearing news 💕

@Talcott2007 and @MummyBearBoo hope your little ones are keeping you busy 😄

DPSawMyUsername · 13/11/2020 11:04

Mini update while I can.

Balloon out. Waters broke. DP can now come in. Fingers crossed here we go 🤞🏼

Hatepickinganame · 13/11/2020 11:18

@DPSawMyUsername oh how exciting! Good luck and cant wait to see your update!

Did anyone else start watching old episodes of one born every minute while pregnant? I've been watching this morning, kind of dawned on me that a week today I'm technically full term and she really could arrive any day so decided to remind myself of labour and birth 😅

OP posts:
calimommy · 13/11/2020 14:55

@DPSawMyUsername oh so exciting! Good luck and mind yourself x

@Hatepickinganame I usually love watching One Born but I'm not at all interest this time for some reason. Perhaps the other three are burned in my memory enough 😂🙈🙈🙈

Hatepickinganame · 13/11/2020 15:09

@calimommy haha you'd think after three I wouldn't need reminding 😅 I did watch a couple of c sections and just cringed, my oh was like it'll be fine if thats what you need and I'm going nope, not happening don't want it 😆 have cried loads watching it though!

OP posts:
calimommy · 13/11/2020 15:13

@Hatepickinganame it's exciting too I suppose, at least we know what's possibly coming. I feel a bit zen about it atm...I'm sure that will change later 😬😂

Needallthesleep · 13/11/2020 16:23

Ahh yay @DPSawMyUsername!!

@Hatepickinganame I can also recommend the Emma Willis Having Babies series. I prefer it to One Born Every a minute. But I actually stopped watching in the run up to having my DD. They scare me too much!

Hatepickinganame · 13/11/2020 16:39

@Needallthesleep yeah I started to get a little scared earlier haha I forgot how much its gonna hurt! And sections... don't even get me started.

@calimommy I was but the closer it gets the more nervous I get. That's normal right?

OP posts:
calimommy · 13/11/2020 16:50

@Hatepickinganame 😂 plus there are things you forget, like the other day someone reminded me about the after pains. I thought fuck how did I forget about those?! Best for me to stay in my little zen world for a bit longer...

Hatepickinganame · 13/11/2020 16:53

@calimommy oh no I remember those well. I also remember the shower that looks like a scene from carrie after the birth. And how good the tea is afterwards too 😅 my oh hasnt witnessed a natural birth before so that could be interesting if she's moved and I can have one 😅

OP posts:
professorastrocat · 13/11/2020 16:54

Don't watch the scary births!

Oh god the after pains....as if we hadn't been through enough! 😆

professorastrocat · 13/11/2020 17:00

@Hatepickinganame it's funny how they often end up seeing everything that we can't see! The midwife said to my OH come and see baby's head it's half way out now. He gingerly shuffled round the side of the bed...

I got to the postnatal ward just before breakfast was going out and it was the best tea and toast in the world.

Hatepickinganame · 13/11/2020 17:13

@professorastrocat he was happily telling me how his first born was by section and he watched it all in the shiny overhead light... he's not phased by the thought of a section as its all he knows. When I.mentioned the fact that we might still get a natural birth he was adamant he won't leave my head end 😅😅😅 to be fair he hates seeing me in pain so think he's worrying about that more than anything lol its just so close now!

OP posts:
Wise0wl · 13/11/2020 21:55

Thinking of you @DPSawMyUsername!

I’m avoiding all birth programmes, happy to go in blissfully unaware (ish) of the pain!
