Huge huge congratulations @Talcott2007!! She is adorable and I’m so glad that you’ve had good outcomes on her tests.

DPSawMyUsername · 26/10/2020 11:51

Congratulations @Talcott2007

So glad to hear everything has been positive and successful.
Hope you're doing well xx

Hatepickinganame · 27/10/2020 22:07

How are we all doing? I'm in hospital for an episode of reduced movement 😪 little monkey started kicking like mad as soon as the midwife tried to find her so at least she's OK. My braxtons are showing up on the monitor though, is that normal?

OP posts:
professorastrocat · 28/10/2020 09:04

How did you get on @Hatepickinganame . It's always good to check on these things! Not sure about the Braxtons did they advise you? As it picks up uterine activity I imagine it's normal to see them. Hope you're feeling ok.

Hatepickinganame · 28/10/2020 09:18

I'm still here, they weren't happy about the braxtons so kept me as they were fairly regular. Haven't had any since 4am now so hoping to go home soon! Good news is that the little monkey is head down now!

Hope you get to go home soon, and glad everything is ok.

How is everyone else?? My mood is very up and down. This mat leave is so different to my first because of the pandemic. So there is a lot more TV watching and I’m pretty bored. It is good for breastfeeding though, so feeling pleased that’s going ok. She did two 3.5 hour stretches of sleep last night and I feel amazing now! Hoping it continues.

Wise0wl · 28/10/2020 13:37

@Hatepickinganame glad they’re being cautious and great news baby is the right way round!

@Needallthesleep in a lot of pain with my hips and struggling to sleep and also have been a bit emotional over the last few days. Work is still keeping me busy though which means the days are flying by! 🤞 for more sleep for you!

professorastrocat · 28/10/2020 14:36

Great news she is now head down @Hatepickinganame

I've mostly been ok emotions wise @Needallthesleep but know what you mean about mat leave. I've kind of got my head around it the last few months though and I don't mind being in and chilling, and just popping out for walks so it depends how busy you like being. the thing that upsets me is how little family will be able to see her but things are how they are.
Yay for longer stretch of sleep! We do 3 hours occasionally too at night 🤪 but mostly 2/2.5

Hatepickinganame · 28/10/2020 15:04

Thanks guys, they let me go home which is awesome. I've been warned that due to all the fluid she could easily move back but keeping everything crossed she doesn't. I get a very heavy, hard feeling on my right hip now so think she might be head down transverse rather than breech transverse which is an improvement!

Hopefully more sleep for you guys soon! Glad feeding is going well for you, its awful when you're struggling with it, remember well from my last!

Glad to read of good news and settling in when I catch up on here ☺️

39 weeks today and I've been on furlough that long that I only remembered yesterday that I have officially finished work ready for this baby. Last holiday days this week and maternity starting on 1st.
The teen thinks baby will be here by 2nd and I think the 7th. The OH is hoping a couple more days later so when he goes back to work he misses Black Friday 😂 Retail priorities 🙈

calimommy · 29/10/2020 16:16

@DPSawMyUsername I'm laughing because my DH is hoping we don't hit Quarter End and also his office is due to open in March so he was laughing saying what good timing it was -I'm due in March 🙄😂 so he thinks hewon't be around to deal with one preschool, 2 Distance Learning and one Newborn.

MummyBearBoo · 30/10/2020 11:06

Hey girls got some reading glasses sink can read!! Congrats to everyone on their babies and good luck to those still waiting!! @Talcott2007 -that sounds really positive!! Most night my baby only wakes twice for a feed and goes back in her noses basket but then the few times she wakes up at 3am for a feed and that's her day started!! I'm pretty much going to bed at 8.30pm and hopefully get her to sleep (milk drunk) by half 9!

She's a lot better at going in her bed than my oldest!! She also seems ok with the bath unlike her sister who used to scream the place down (loves the bath now tho)! Can't believe it's 3 and a half weeks -how are you getting on @Piglet11? Xx

Needallthesleep · 30/10/2020 12:56

@MummyBearBoo I’m green with envy, but v happy for you that you have such a good sleeper!

At the moment I’m going to bed at 8pm as soon as my toddler is down, my DH takes the baby and feeds her expressed milk until midnight. Then I have her from midnight until morning, and she will normally wake at 2am and 5am. So painful!

@DPSawMyUsername are you planning on any ‘I’m going into labour’ fake outs in the next few days?! So fun.

professorastrocat · 30/10/2020 14:47

My situation sounds grim in comparison! We're having to get antibiotics in her 4x a day (infected finger, don't ask!) which usually involves waking her round 11, I've not usually got much sleep before then and eldest is sleeping badly so sometimes have to help with that. So I can be asleep by midnight then she will wake three more times usually and this often involves a nappy blowout so all in all not much sleep!
Hoping things will settle down soon, I often sleep in the day though.

MummyBearBoo · 30/10/2020 17:57

When half term finishes I'm hoping to get a bit more sleep in the day usually only get about an hour tho!! Xx

Needallthesleep · 31/10/2020 03:54

Oh wow @professorastrocat sounds like you’re right in the thick of it, though you’re also sounding v resilient. The sleepless nights will pass, but I am guilty of counting down the days until 6 weeks/12 weeks when things get easier.

At the moment I’m not daytime sleeping but think I’m going to give it a go next week.

Talcott2007 · 02/11/2020 06:22

Hi All - another long post warning!

Have to say we are doing surprisingly well in the Talcott house. Everything feels so different than from after DD1'S birth - in a good way!! I have plenty of energy, can string together a thought relatively well and am already physically recovering 'downstairs' - I had quite a significant PPH and lots of stitches following an episiotomy and looking back now it was even more traumatic than I'd realised - at this point (day 10) i still couldn't actually sit down without being in pain and had to have DH pour a jug of warm water over me to be able to pee whilst standing up over the bath!! This time around we have already been out as a family a couple of times to walk in the park and I've been able to do some very light house work!

Feeding has been a dream - minor bump on day 4/5 when both nipples decided to crack like the grand canyon purely down to the power of DD2'S epic suck and them not quite being prepared for it!! But a day using shields let them rest up enough that they are fine again now. Well everything must be fine as our little Dyson had on day 5 when the MW came out not only recovered her birthweight but gained 70g!! Which is exactly what we are wanting to see!

Feeding seems to have currently settled into every 2.5-3hrs at night and every 3-4hrs during the day which is fine by me! The last feed of the 'day' is somewhere between 8-9pm when I go to bed and DH stays downstairs wither her for as long as possible (Max 4hrs) so I get a good chunk of uninterrupted sleep and he will bring her up for the 1st of the 'night' feeds at 11pm-12am. Overall im probably getting around 6-7hrs a night albeit broken up.

DD1 is absolutely loving and thriving with being a big sister, being kind, patient, helpful and generally a star!

DD2 is very alert but also very calm and content with it - looking around at everything and loves being in her ama wrap. You would honestly never suspect that she has a CDH or any sort of issue she is so healthy and robust!

We have our 1st face to face Cardiology Appointment at Evalina on Tuesday this week which is a bit nerve wracking as I'm not sure what to expect but l will let you all know how it all goes

DPSawMyUsername · 02/11/2020 08:07

@Needallthesleep I darent, I'll only jinx myself and go over to the max when I supposedly only have 3 days to go 😂 This lockdown is very selfishly absolutely perfect for us time wise. He gets them extra weeks with his newborn, I'm thinking I get extra naps and he certainly won't have to do Black Friday prep 🤪

calimommy · 02/11/2020 14:34

Great news @Talcott2007. I'm also a huge fan of nipple sheilds. I've used them for the first two/three weeks all three babies and I've never had cracks or bleeding. Lots of women are afraid they will cause a nipple confusion but I've certainly never found that and I also use dummy's from the start too. They were life savers for me 👍

Needallthesleep · 02/11/2020 17:07

@Talcott2007 I love your updates. So good to hear how well you guys are all doing. We seem to be on a similar feeding schedule, it’s nice to know my baby is normal! Hope your appointment goes well.

Needallthesleep · 02/11/2020 17:08

And yes yes @DPSawMyUsername to the lockdown being perfect timing for you. We need all the silver linings we can get! This at least has meant I don’t have any FOMO for what I’m missing out on while my DD is cluster feeding.

Hatepickinganame · 03/11/2020 09:48

@Talcott2007 ah lovely update! So nice reading everyones baby updates, reminds me that I've got so much to look forward to and its not all pelvic agony forever lol!

34 week appointment with consultant today, no idea what to expect from this one besides a review of my recent blood test, my next scan is 2 weeks away so not really sure what they are gonna say today?
