Hi everyone!

There doesn’t seem to be a thread yet for July 2021, probably because most of you haven’t got your BFP yet! I got mine yesterday at 9DPO which was super early but had a pretty clear line on a FRER with afternoon urine, so confirmed with a digital. My due date is 4th July 2021 and I can’t wait for more of you to join me!! Feeling excited but a bit overwhelmed / not everything has sunk in yet. Also it’s still super early so I’m crossing my fingers (and legs!) that this little one sticks. It’s my first baby so I have no experience of any of this!

Hopefully see more of you in the next few days!!

Xx

Hi, all.

Congratulations on your BFPS. I am tentatively joining. I got my BFP on Tuesday very much to my surprise. I am already a mum to a two year old a child that took us almost 18 months to conceive. This pregnancy was very unexpected. I’m unsure of my due date but I’m about 11dpo. X

Lollipop87 · 29/10/2020 09:26

@MoscowMuse wow congrats, guessing you’re a weird mix of thrilled and terrified right now?! Great you have an early scan, crossing my fingers for you that everything looks good and that you have a happy and healthy pregnancy 😊

@MrsH2019 congrats!! If you know when your last period was you can put it in the NHS due date calculator and then at least you have a rough idea, although could change at dating scan! There are quite a few mums on here with surprise second pregnancies or ones that happened quicker than expected 😊

Hey ladies!! Hope you are all doing well? Okay if I join? Due July 5th I think! I'm really panicking all the time so be nice to speak to others! I keep getting back ache and the odd cramp, which is making me think I'm going to miscarry again...: but I also hear it's common? Anyone else?? Xxx

bewitchingnight · 29/10/2020 10:06

Hello all and congratulations! It's very exciting to be able to write that I am pregnant too and due around 9th July. I got a faint bfp on Monday and a much more obvious one yesterday. DH and I have been trying for 5 months and I had a chemical pregnancy / early miscarriage at the beginning of September. So still a bit cautious but hopeful. Smile

MrsH2019 · 29/10/2020 10:12

Thank you. I think I’ve PM’d you about the Facebook group. Xx

strawberrycherryblossom · 29/10/2020 10:15

So I called to book in with the midwives after a CB digi positive this morning. My booking appointment is next week because I'm not sure on my dates Blush

strawberrycherryblossom · 29/10/2020 10:20

For anyone interested, my trust (SE) is doing all appointments face to face for now. Does anyone else know how their booking appointment will be done? I half expected it to be over the phone.

Lollipop87 · 29/10/2020 11:52

@strawberrycherryblossom mine is also face to face (SE too) on 25th Nov and my DH is allowed to come which I was pleasantly surprised about!

Congrats to all!! 💞

I’ve just rang my trust and my first appointment is next week over the phone (I’ll be 5-6 weeks then) then they’ll book me in for a scan/blood tests. So looking like it’ll be a private reassurance scan if there’s a long wait - also so my fiancé can be there for the first one atleast. Is everyone having to attend appointments/scans alone? X

Penelope12xx · 29/10/2020 13:25

@strawberrycherryblossom
I’ve only just seen this! So happy you get to experience that together! Fingers crossed this is the start of things changing x

strawberrycherryblossom · 29/10/2020 13:32

@Lollipop87 I think the SE is in a much better position in terms of Covid rates generally so hopefully it continues. He came to my booking appointment last time but I'm not bringing him this time. He was bored stiff!

@Penelope12xx he can come with me to my scans but I've not asked about appointments. To be honest if you have a straightforward pregnancy your normal midwife appointments are pretty quick and not interesting for a partner. They just dip your urine and see how you are. If you are under consultant led care you might value having him there - do you have any idea whether you'll be midwife or consultant led?

3rdtimelucky2019 · 29/10/2020 13:41

Glad someone else finds booking appointments boring!

Pretty sure someone has put together a spreadsheet of all maternity restrictions by hospital/area, I'll see if I can dig out a link (may well be out of date with how things are moving)

Hola84 · 29/10/2020 13:57

Just got my BFP!! After so so many months of trying and so many disappointments, I am over the moon! Due 5th of July I think! Yesssssss!! X congrats everyone x

stellarfox · 29/10/2020 14:31

I did all my midwife appointments on my own last time pre-Covid. They aren’t particularly interesting. I’d only really recommend the scans for partners!

@MoscowMuse Congratulations! I thought I had PCOS as I had irregular cycles and slightly higher androgens than normal, but after having my first baby my cycles went a lot more regular so now I’m unsure whether it was just coming off the pill that messed with my hormones or PCOS. It took us 12 months with my first too and I had no symptoms!

Congratulations everyone else joining. We’re only right at the start of the month so I wonder how many people will end up joining our group!

Blughbablugh · 29/10/2020 14:42

Hi all, just checking in. Welcome to the new bfps. I'm currently 4+3. Still very nervous as only got to 5 weeks in August. I'm going to call my GP next week if everything is still looking OK. Its quite boring where I am. With my dd the midwife didn't call me to offer me an appointment until I was about 8 weeks and booked in my scan after that, so no rush. Im glad you are all still on here. I joined the May 21 Facebook group but then had to leave it, so will leave it a few more weeks I think.
I'm currently getting bloating, some boob pain and a few twinges and pulls. The cramps have stopped. Its so weird that it feels like a weird stretch in my uterus if I stretch up and I can really feel it to the side. Not sure if that's because I've been through pregnancy before. Do any of you who've got children feel that?

AnxiousAnnie86 · 29/10/2020 15:04

@Blughbablugh hey! I could of written this! I have a pulling feeling and if I stretch I can feel a pull quite strong! I also have some aching in my hip area which feels like cramps (as in muscle cramps) I'm also 4 + 3 and have also suffered a Mc so am really Nervous xxx

AnxiousAnnie86 · 29/10/2020 15:05

@Blughbablugh apparently it's round ligament pain, which is normally felt later but can also be felt early on x

strawberrycherryblossom · 29/10/2020 15:05

Same as @stellarfox and @3rdtimelucky2019, I wouldn't recommend bringing partners to your usual appointments or even the booking one unless they have some interesting family history to tell the midwife. He just sat and watched me talk for an hour at mine last time. Scans are interesting though.

@Blughbablugh it was the same for me last time, nothing happened until 8 weeks. Only reason my appointment is earlier this time is because I'm not sure of my dates as I've not had a period since before DC1. No specific side stretching but I do get odd twinges and mild stretches/cramps. I'm wondering how long I'll be able to hide it for this time (was about 18 weeks last time before it was really visible). Would really like to keep it hush hush as long as I can but I've heard you show quicker with no.2!

strawberrycherryblossom · 29/10/2020 15:07

Interestingly, I have a longer list of questions for my midwife at my booking appointment this time than last time. Anyone else feeling like this?

Lollipop87 · 29/10/2020 15:16

@Hola84 congratulations!! You must be thrilled!

@Blughbablugh my cramps have also gone whereas last week was getting them every day, I am getting occasional twinges and feel quite bloated - having to unbutton my jeans when I sit down!

I will give the option to my DH not to come to the booking in appointment but he did a biology degree so finds it all fascinating. It really freaks me out when he knows all the scientific terms! 😂

strawberrycherryblossom · 29/10/2020 15:37

@Lollipop87 if I remember correctly, your booking appointment is a lot of form filling with your medical history etc. They'll do your height/weight/BP and usually tell you whether you'll be midwife or consultant led (though this can change if issues arise later on). I think they also ask you where you want to give birth which seems such an alien question when you're so early! You can also ask any questions so if you have any I'd write them down before you go as I always used to forget otherwise.

you also get your maternity notes/access to them. Mine were all electronic last time and will be again so no paper which I'm almost sad about.

Candyflosscrochet · 29/10/2020 15:40

I had really bad pains with my 1st...thought af was coming so didn't test until I was about 2 weeks late (not long been off the pill so assumed my cycle was out). 2nd one I don't remember feeling any pains, nor with my 3rd. My 4th (mmc in june) I had awful pains from ovulation until about 6.5 weeks (found out at 9wks baby had stopped at 8.5wks). So far, no pains (apart from implantation at 9dpo), but I'm only 3wk 6days so am expecting something soon.

Every pregnancy is different....I also had awful SPD with my 1st (had a c-section because of it), didn't have SPD with my 2nd so had a VBAC, but my 3rd, omg! I was in a wheelchair at the end and had another elective c-section.
Fingers crossed it alternates for me as I'm keen to consider another VBAC if they'd let me (Will be 3.5yrs since last).
But that's a long way off....our plan (given the mmc and cp this year) is to have a scan at 8/9wks, then we'll decide if I have the NIPT if all seems well (I'm nearly 38). One step at a time. Xx

Blughbablugh · 29/10/2020 15:57

Yeah that's what it must be. It's odd because it feels like when I was pregnant with my dd and just jumped back in to being pregnant again. I think I was pretty much bloat and didn't get a bump until about 20 weeks. I was quite a bit slimmer then though Grin
I think the last i heard that in my area partner's are allowed at the scans. I think I will book a reassurance one fir about 9 weeks.

Blughbablugh · 29/10/2020 16:04

@Candyflosscrochet I had spd with my first as well. Hoping it will skip this one!
I hadn't thought about a NIPT but I will be 38 at Christmas so you've got me thinking.
