Hi everyone!

There doesn’t seem to be a thread yet for July 2021, probably because most of you haven’t got your BFP yet! I got mine yesterday at 9DPO which was super early but had a pretty clear line on a FRER with afternoon urine, so confirmed with a digital. My due date is 4th July 2021 and I can’t wait for more of you to join me!! Feeling excited but a bit overwhelmed / not everything has sunk in yet. Also it’s still super early so I’m crossing my fingers (and legs!) that this little one sticks. It’s my first baby so I have no experience of any of this!

Hopefully see more of you in the next few days!!

Xx

Snap 7 weeks today but having problems. Woke up with bleeding at the weekend, contacted midwifery service on mon to be told that I need to contact gp or go to a&e. Waited for call back from gp yday to be told they can’t refer me for a scan and to contact the early pregnant unit. Called the epu at high Wycombe this morning who have an answer phone msg saying they are closed since March due to staff redeployment and to contact the epu at Stoke Mandeville. Called them to get another answer phone telling me to contact my gp! Am really frustrated, don’t want to sit in a&e for 4 hours when I just need a scan appointment. Much longed for pregnancy post ivf but now wondering whether to just carry on as normal and wait till 12 week scan in jan but just seems ever so far away?

WalkingMeAway · 18/11/2020 08:41

Morning ladies. 5+2 today. Only symptoms are sore boobs but have started to feel some nausea when hungry. Did my last digital this morning which showed 3+

Is anyone else really bloated ? I look 3m pregnant! Even my daughter said ‘Mum that top makes you look pregnant’ 😬
I really want to avoid telling her until our 12w scan but not sure I’m going to be able to get away with it !

@fib11235 sorry to hear that. Could you book in for a private scan? I know you shouldn’t have to but I would in your position. Sounds like maternity services have taken a big hit during Covid.

CC81 · 18/11/2020 08:44

@fib11235 - I don't think you should wait for the 12-week scan - that's a long time to be waiting and worrying.

Maybe best to call the GP and midwife again, to explain what happened with the hospitals. Tell them you're really worried and feel like you're getting lost in the system.

Also look for the 'PALS' service at the hospitals - Patient Advisory Liaison Service. They're there to sort out issues like this.

If none of those sources help you (which in my view would be appalling), perhaps consider booking a private scan at a clinic? Most will do it from 7 weeks. But make sure it's a serious place, not a "we sell 4D photos" type place - in case you need medical support afterwards.

Lostwordsblessing · 18/11/2020 09:07

@WalkingMeAway 🙋🏻‍♀️ So bloated! That and my boobs have gone up a cup size and jumping up and down causes me great discomfort. Feel like a Trojan horse, albeit a small, 6+4 one.

I’m much hungrier than usual too. I’m prioritising eating more because I tend to forget lunch sometimes, but yesterday I had an omelette with mushrooms for breakfast, pasta for lunch, and three black bean tacos with avo and cheese for dinner and when I got into bed I was like, “I could eat again!”

My cravings are more around savoury stuff, like salty foods. I usually have to curb my sweet tooth and I’ve gone off wanting biscuits and chocolate so much. So far so good with nausea, but coming up to 7 weeks so I’ll hang tight before getting cocky!

Is anyone else eating more? I read everywhere we don’t need to but my energy levels are so low and I’m so ready for my next meal even if I’m still a bit full from before. I’m like a bloody bin!

Lostwordsblessing · 18/11/2020 09:10

@fib11235 I agree with @CC81, we booked a private scan for before Christmas to put our minds at ease. Think the clinic is called Window to the Womb and they have places all over the country. There was an offer on when we booked so it was only £50 although I appreciate that’s a lot. They can see you quite fast I think too. Worth a look. Hope you get sorted x

Mumoft22m · 18/11/2020 09:15

Girls please help. Those that suffer with hg how the heck are yous coping? I’m only 5+5 yesterday I couldn’t get out of bed all day I was crying from the sickness. I was sick all day. Couldn’t even look after my other 2 children. I’m finding it really hard.

Nam095 · 18/11/2020 09:40

@Mumoft22m hiya, I have hg and was admitted to hospital on Monday. I started getting the sickness at the same time as you, 5 and a half weeks and I’m now 7+3. I’m afraid to say it doesn’t get any easier. The only thing I could do is lay on my sofa and feel sorry for myself. The only food I could eat were potato waffles, TUC crackers and ready salted crisps. Stock up on a lot of beige nibbly snacks! And the only drink I could tolerate was orange juice, but only sip it don’t gulp! If you’re so sick over the next few days that you can’t keep any food or drink down please call your GP, they will be able to give you anti sickness medication. They originally gave me stemetil but that didn’t work. The hospital gave me cyclizine which seems to be working at the moment, so ask for that! I hope it gets better for you and you start to feel some sort of normal soon x

mamababy1955555 · 18/11/2020 10:10

Hi, everyone, I'm due 4/7/21, so 7+3. I have been feeling awful for about 10 days. I have diarrhoea every morning (I'm pretty sure I had this with DS, who is now 3.5, but it's still freaking me out) and I'm on cyclizine for nausea. I wake up feeling almost normal and by the end of the day I'm curled up in a ball somewhere. I can barely eat or drink - the sight of pretty much all food and drink makes me retch once the sickness kicks in around mid morning - and I've lost 10lbs already. So, woo hoo, pregnancy!

Sorry to sound like such a downer, I'm just not enjoying this AT ALL. In fact, I've wondered quite a few times if I'm making a horrible mistake having a second. DS is amazing and perhaps I should've been happy with that. I hope these feelings will lift a bit soon Sad

Jeabb · 18/11/2020 10:11

Hi Everyone, I got my bfp yesterday, due end of July but I ovulated early so maybe before.
Congratulations on all of your pregnancies!

PurBal · 18/11/2020 10:16

@Julybaby2021 yes, a week today. Feels like such a long wait!

fib11235 · 18/11/2020 10:26

Thank you @Lostwordsblessing @CC81 and @WalkingMeAway Now have scan booked for Fri 9.30am so keeping everything crossed. Massively appreciate the support though and will keep you posted.
Prior to this had only minimal symptoms since week 6, nighttime nausea, mild breast soreness and excessive saliva but am on daily oestrogen tablets and progesterone so don’t know if this lessens it.

AliceinBunniland · 18/11/2020 10:30

@fib11235 Others have had some good suggestions but it's a shame there isn't more support for you. I have read lots to suggest spotting and even bleeding doesn't necessarily mean something is wrong though I'm sure it's very worrying but I hope everything is okay 💗

popcorndiva · 18/11/2020 10:39

Just tried ringing doctors to get referred to the midwifes...but the queue was 8 people so will try later. Rather get a date for booking in, in case I need to tell my manager to swap my shift. I would rather not before Christmas

NamechangeTTC · 18/11/2020 10:52

Hope all is well @fib11235

BKB27 · 18/11/2020 12:18

Hi guys do you mind if I join? I'm currently around 5 weeks pregnant following my second ivf cycle. I've had 2 pregnancies previous, one missed miscarriage and another at 9 weeks. Trying to keep the anxiety at bay but struggling! Really happy and grateful to be pregnant and hope this bubba stays around. May I ask about symptoms, what should I be feeling at this stage? My boobs are slightly sore, appetite is for smaller meals and I'm a little tired (didnr help i was up until 4am googling symptoms!). Wishing good things for all x

Lostwordsblessing · 18/11/2020 12:26

Welcome to the thread @BKB27! I think everyone’s symptoms are so different! But cramps, breast soreness and tiredness seems common. Wishing you the best of joy and luck for your pregnancy x

BKB27 · 18/11/2020 12:33

Thank you @Lostwordsblessing. Fingers crossed! X

CC81 · 18/11/2020 14:24

Are others REALLY STRUGGLING with the timings leading up to Christmas? I'm finding it makes the anxiety so much worse.

If we make it to 12 weeks, that'll be just after Christmas - so it'll be a real dilemma whether to mention it to family or not (if we see them). It'll be obvious because I'm not drinking, and they know I love my wine!

We intend to have extra scans and should also get our NIPT results at 11 weeks, but that'd be literally days before Christmas, so it's super-nervewracking. Waiting for the 8-week scan next week already feels like FOREVER Sad

Due to my age, if this pregnancy doesn't work out, we may not have another - so we really wouldn't want to make a big deal out of it with friends and family. We'd rather handle the disappointment privately and move on with life with our existing child.

popcorndiva · 18/11/2020 14:41

As I am not due till 28th July think I will be 9 weeks at Christmas so thinking we may book a scan a couple of days before and of all looks well and fingers crossed we see a heartbeat we plan to tell our parents Christmas Day.

To be honest with my DS I told my family about a week after I found out as if anything had happened I would have wanted my mums support. As this will be our last child we thought it would be nice to do a proper reveal instead of just messaging them. I speak to my mum everyday so will be hard to keep it a secret that long no way would I manage to 12 weeks

Char899 · 18/11/2020 15:02

I’m in the same boat as @popcorndiva, not due until the end of July. I took ds for a walk with my mum this morning and I was already dying to tell her! If private scan goes well I’ll tell immediate family at Christmas! I’m not sure I’m going to be able to keep it from my mum for that long though 🙈

CC81 · 18/11/2020 15:10

I think I'm mostly anxious about sharing the news too soon because of what happened to a friend of ours. She had a scan at 8 weeks and then a MMC, so got bad news at the 12-week scan.

I'm hugely worried about the same thing happening (or getting bad news about the NIPT at 10-11 weeks).

I know the odds are more in favour of things being okay, but I can't help being wary. I totally understand that some people are comfortable telling family earlier - which is great - but we really don't want to, until we're more confident. I just hate the waiting so much!

Char899 · 18/11/2020 15:16

@CC81 I was the same with ds we didn’t tell anyone until after the 12 week scan. The only reason I may tell my parents earlier this time around is because I want to be able to confide in them, it’s a scary time. Do whatever you feel comfortable doing. It’ll be an even better surprise after waiting all that time to tell them ☺️

TiredAlreadyOhDear · 18/11/2020 15:33

Anyone due around the 17th July? It’s my first and wondering if anyone want to buddy up with me while we go on this crazy journey! Must admit I’ve never felt this nervous about anything! Feeling anxious and then also just not feeling 100% is starting to stress me out more! Xx
