Hi everyone!

There doesn’t seem to be a thread yet for July 2021, probably because most of you haven’t got your BFP yet! I got mine yesterday at 9DPO which was super early but had a pretty clear line on a FRER with afternoon urine, so confirmed with a digital. My due date is 4th July 2021 and I can’t wait for more of you to join me!! Feeling excited but a bit overwhelmed / not everything has sunk in yet. Also it’s still super early so I’m crossing my fingers (and legs!) that this little one sticks. It’s my first baby so I have no experience of any of this!

Hopefully see more of you in the next few days!!

Xx

I can't really comment on the midwife because I live in Italy so everything is different, but I just wanted to say good luck @Loulabelle90

Thank you Grin. You too Thanks xxx

Thanks @Loulabelle90!

Marushka82 · 02/11/2020 14:13

All the best to you @Loulabelle90!!! The NHS website says that the sickle cell test is around 10 weeks so I’d think you’d need to see your midwife before then. I called a midwife centre this morning and I’m booked in for two weeks from now.

DanielleB88 · 02/11/2020 17:23

Hi! I got my bfp today. I'm due 12th july. With baby number 4 :) dont know how to attach a picture.

Hopingfor3 · 02/11/2020 17:24

@Loulabelle90 so sorry to hear this. I think they'd fit you in if you left it late and they'd understand why.

I keep telling myself that what I say has absolutely no bearing on what happens. We just train ourselves through life it does but it can't - but you just need to do whatever keeps your brain ticking over the best ❤️

Lots of love xx

Loulabelle90 · 02/11/2020 17:46

Thanks @Marushka82 and @Hopingfor3

I think I'm still going to wait then until I've had my 8 week scan before I go booking midwife appointments. Surely they'll be able to squeeze me in before the 10 week mark.

I read that there's a 75% chance of the baby surviving so I'm just going to try and focus on that!

Congrats to everyone else who's had their BFP xx

Zo35 · 02/11/2020 18:05

@Loulabelle90 I think they probably would ensure you got appointments quickly even if you contact them late. They must have to do it all time for people that don't realise straightaway.

I've just found a self referral form on my hospital website, it looks like they would have it in place last time to but I had called gp first and they said I had to have an appointment. I think they must just be a bit more old school as the self referral form says they would inform gp. Think I'll just do that this time. Will wait til after Thursday as that'll take me past 5weeks and complete the form then if all still seems to be going well.

3rdtimelucky2019 · 02/11/2020 18:14

With my first I didn't see a midwife until 8/9 weeks and likely to be later this time as I'm not having a private scan until 9 weeks. It'll be fine. You have until 14 weeks to have all the measurements taken for testing etc.

Zo35 · 02/11/2020 18:29

I think last time I contacted gp around 5 weeks, had a referral appointment with him at 6weeks and then midwife booking in apt between 8-9weeks. Coincidentally the booking in appointment was the same day that we had an early private scan booked that evening

marsvar28 · 02/11/2020 18:46

Guys my GP has said im 4-5 weeks going by my LMP.. which is fine..What im wondering is.. how early you all tell grandparents. This will be my inlaws first grandchild and they have been really wanting one from we got married. On my side this will be the 6th grandchild.. so its not as new and as exciting as it is for my inlaws. We decided today to tell both parents and have a private scan booked for end of Nov. I know it's so early to tell but i was finding it stressful not telling my parents as i usually tell them everything & my excitement has been taking over. Although im petrified of losing it but still had to tell them. We havent told anyone else. Have we made a mistake telling it this early?

Scottishskifun · 02/11/2020 18:55

@46marsvar28 it depends on what your comfortable with and completely personal.

Last time I think we told parents around 8 weeks

Loulabelle90 · 02/11/2020 18:55

Perfect thank you ladies. I'll definitely wait until the viability scan then Grin

marsvar28 · 02/11/2020 18:59

@Scottishskifun im just so scared of losing it. But my husband and I like to talk and have things out in the open. Im a bad liar aswell lol i think i sort of dont believe it yet either since we have to wait for a while before any scans etc. I feel like this month is going to drag🙈 xx

Emj1993 · 02/11/2020 19:09

Hi, congratulations to everyone! Smile

Hope you don’t mind me joining in, I had a BFP last Sunday, however I’m finding difficult to know how far along I am as I came off my pill on 26th September and didn’t have AF before getting pregnant and haven’t had AF for years! If I go from the date I came off my pill I’ll be 5 weeks - so excited but also so anxious about every little twinge I get! I haven’t had many symptoms except cramping, I kind of want to get some symptoms just for reassurance!

Thinking about getting a private scan at 8 weeks as my first midwife appointment isn’t until 1st December so I can’t see me having a scan until after Christmas Hmm Will also message @Lollipop87 to join the FB group Smile

Emj1993 · 02/11/2020 19:10

Also forgot to say I think I’m due 5th July Smile

Scottishskifun · 02/11/2020 19:23

@marsvar28 that's understandable family and friends are also there for support in case things happen.
It's totally personal though some wait til after scans others straight away. If they are supportive then I would say it's a good thing. If they are the type to get completely carried away etc then wait til you feel comfortable.

marsvar28 · 02/11/2020 19:45

@Scottishskifun yes they are very supportive. So i no it was a good thing to tell them.. i think ill be abit positive about it once i get an early scan at the end of this month. Make me believe it more. Xx

stellarfox · 02/11/2020 21:21

@marsvar28 For me I only tell people I’d be happy to tell if something does go wrong. I waited until after the scan with our first but I’ve told quite a few people this time! I’m holding off telling my grandparents as don’t want to get their hopes up if something goes wrong! But depends on your personal relationships and what you’re happy with. I also think it would be nice to tell some people on Christmas!

Penny21xxx · 02/11/2020 21:22

Congratulations new ladies! 💘 sending lots of sticky positive vibes to you all. How's everyone feeling today?
My sickness & period like cramps (lower back) have definitely upped a notch the last day or 2 (a bottle of Sunny D seems to be working a treat haha). Hope you're all okay. Xx

Boymama89 · 02/11/2020 21:34

Hey everyone . First off congratulations to you all. Hope you don't mind me joining. I got my BFP on Friday. I'm not sure how many weeks I am. I had a d&c last month on the 10th September and no period in between before falling again. As you can imagine , I'm a wreck with nerves. We didn't find out about the miscarriage till we went for a scan and baby had no heartbeat. Really really trying to stay positive this time 💕

Marushka82 · 02/11/2020 22:36

I think the best thing we can do is try to stay positive and keep ourselves busy somehow (easier said than done, I’m trying to watch Netflix and getting paranoid about any stomach twinge)

Jilly1988 · 03/11/2020 06:35

Hi all I am having a bit of a worry day today. I am still POAS every other day as it’s taken me 18months to conceive and I had a chemical around this stage last time. My lines are getting darker but not as dark as test line and today’s line doesn’t seem darker than sundays... is that ok? Is my crazy crazy mind just stupidly worrying.

Scottishskifun · 03/11/2020 07:40

@Jilly1988 I think you're over thinking to me the last one looks darker. I think you can easily drive yourself round the bend with it all. Personally I suggest stop taking tests and try to relax.
