I’m very early with this! I found out yesterday I’m pregnant, due 1st June.

Anyone else with me yet? Smile

I was hoping for some kind of confirmation that everything is ok. Not sure whether to wait until 8 weeks plus then. I think it’s just me being overly paranoid and wanting everything to be ok! When was you thinking of getting yours?

Finallybfp · 03/10/2020 14:30

Yeah I’m exactly the same , I just can’t stop thinking about it , everything I do Whether it’s being at work or sitting chilling on a nighttime it’s on my mind , I just feel like I need some reassurance that everything is ok and the baby is growing in the right place etc . I’m thinking of booking a private scan for 9/10 weeks , I’m going to wait until I’ve spoken to the midwife again in just over a week and see when they get me booked in for first appointment first before booking a early scan. Smile x

toptreeroots1 · 03/10/2020 14:31

I had a early scan with my dd at 9 weeks
We won't be having one this time
Because of money and I found I still worried after as well personally

toptreeroots1 · 03/10/2020 14:32

My only symptom has also gone which was the occasional twinge very low down .
4 weeks plus 1 day 😬
My dd is 4.5 and it seems like ages ago that I did this

Lauren28321 · 03/10/2020 14:39

That sounds like a good plan. I was told by my GP to take another test in 4 weeks and to call back. I assume they’ll then arrange midwife stuff... have no idea what to expect with this being my first time. I feel scared to move haha! Hopefully cramping will subside soon, to help out mind at rest. Have emailed the scanning clinic to get a bit more info from them regarding when is best to book in with them. Thanks @Finallybfp, it’s good to have somebody in the same boat who understands 😂

Lauren28321 · 03/10/2020 14:42

We are very close, I’m 4 week plus 3 days! Smile

Finallybfp · 03/10/2020 14:50

@Lauren28321 that’s a good idea as they do them all the time so will be able to tell you when is best to get one. At the moment it’s just me and my boyfriend who know the news , When are you thinking of telling your families ? I don’t know when is best to tell them as I think I should wait until I’ve had a scan but still feels so far away . Smile

Lauren28321 · 03/10/2020 15:02

I’ll let you know what they say when they reply. I have told my husband a mum because I couldn’t believe what I was seeing and needing more than one opinion 😂. I’ve told my mum not to tell anyone as it’s really early days. I was thinking of waiting until my 12 week scan, just depends if I can keep my mouth shut. What are you thinking? X

Finallybfp · 03/10/2020 15:25

Yeah that’s the same with me I don’t want to tell Our family to early as it’s still early days . It’s my birthday in November and I’ll be turning 30, if everything all adds up correctly I’ll be 12 weeks the day after my birthday so I’m thinking of maybe telling family a couple of days before 12 weeks just so I don’t have to pretend not to have a celebration drink on my birthday. Lockdown is actually helping me as I’m not really seeing family or friends so not having to turn down alcoholic drinks Which would make them suspicious lol. Roll on 12 weeks and a healthy scan so I can let this very happy secret out, I just can’t wait until I can tell everyone and it not be a secret that I’m so anxious about . X

toptreeroots1 · 03/10/2020 15:27

I think we will tell family before 12 weeks
I was incredibly sick the first time and I am expecting that again if I'm honest.
Not sure I could hide it because off that .
I was sick every day from 5-35 weeks 😬😬
Hoping it's not so bad this time. New pregnancy and it's been 5 years since my last

squaresandsquares · 03/10/2020 15:28

I think I'm due 16th june
Very feint positive.
Lower back pain which I had with my DC 1&2

squaresandsquares · 03/10/2020 15:31

Sorry forgot to say Hello!!

Finallybfp · 03/10/2020 15:46

@toptreeroots1 , I’m really hoping I don’t get sick , I feel like it would be hard for me to hide that at work as I work in a nursery. I’m just going to play it by ear each week and then decide when to tell family.
Congratulations @squaresandsquares wellcome to the group.

toptreeroots1 · 03/10/2020 15:53

I am quite worried about sickness this time with a four year old to look after as well

Finallybfp · 03/10/2020 16:43

@toptreeroots1 fingers crossed for you this pregnancy is different and you don’t get bad sickness.
I feel like my friend has had the perfect pregnancy, she hasn’t really had anything other then tiredness and being uncomfortable sleeping etc . I’m desperate to tell her I’m pregnant but her baby will probably be arriving when I’m 12/13weeks so I’m waiting until then. Smile

MummyOfZog · 03/10/2020 16:47

I had an early scan with my last pregnancy (DS, who is now 4) at 6.5 weeks. I enjoyed it and it was worthwhile as I could see the little flickering heartbeat...even if the actual 'baby' is just a blob on the screen at that point. Whilst things can go wrong afterwards, confirmation of a heartbeat equates to a reduction in miscarriage risk...so I felt more relaxed after that (though still not totally relaxed!)

Finallybfp · 03/10/2020 16:56

@MummyOfZog this is good to know , how many weeks are you now ? Are you thinking of having another early scan with this pregnancy ?

Kjadem · 03/10/2020 17:13

Anyone else having bad nausea yet? I’m 5+4 and for the past 2 days its hit me hard.. snacking makes it worse and I have the horrible metallic taste too. I’m SUPER bloated already (and gassy!) and found out 9 DPO so I do wonder if it could be twins.... just sent the husband out for some ginger biscuits to help. I’ve had 2 weeks annual leave and go back to work Weds, I’m so worried people will find out. I’m a nurse so drinks breaks are off since COVID and I think I’ll really struggle without telling my manager!

Happy2be · 03/10/2020 17:22

@Kjadem im still early on, my calendar says roughly 3 weeks and i have already felt sick, Earlier than last time. Im a nurse too so dreading the long shifts feeling sick already. I told my sister at 6 weeks last time but going to try and hold off longer this time 🙈

Kjadem · 03/10/2020 17:27

@Happy2be congratulations! How long did you hold off telling work last time? And how did you cope with nausea on shifts? I’m dreading it, luckily I have a 3rd year student who I told and is amazing as its like a mine field avoiding certain things in work isn’t it!

123feraverto · 03/10/2020 18:15

I'm a nurse in a forensic mental health unit,
, I'm trying to hold off telling my manager as similar to you I told them at almost 6 weeks last time .
One bonus of wearing face masks - hiding nausea face !
Im 5 weeks tomorrow
I think I'm going to get an early scan around 7 weeks then if all is well tell my manager then

Modip · 03/10/2020 18:53

Just had my positive test today, due date 16th June! Feeling happy and terrified in equal measure

Kjadem · 03/10/2020 19:11

Congrats @Modip
@123feraverto congrats! Yes wearing masks is a good positive I suppose ha! I’ve booked an early scan at 7+3, even if I can’t see much it will reassure me. Secrets don’t stay secrets where I work so I still want to hold off telling even my manager til 12 weeks but if I need to tell her I’ll have to. Hopefully the no working from 28 weeks will still be a thing by the time we’re all 28 weeks too !

Buttercup20 · 03/10/2020 19:30

I felt a little off today but it seemed to pass so unsure if its nausea or just a dicky tum!!
