Anyone else with me yet? Smile

@SF89 I'm booking a private reassurance scan for when I think I'll be 7 weeks (3ish weeks time)!

ladymary86 · 02/10/2020 11:22

Is anyone on the thread in Scotland and arranged their booking appointment yet?
I don't know if I should just call and book it now or if I should wait a couple of weeks.

TheDaydreamBelievers · 02/10/2020 11:49

@ladymary86 - I have. The process seems to vary across the healthboard but in NHS ggc I called and got booked the day I got a BFP.

We have a Scotland group here if you want to join-www.mumsnet.com/Talk/pregnancy/4038656-First-Trimester-Scottish-Mamas

SF89 · 02/10/2020 12:56

@maloney123 @MummyOfZog Thanks so much Ive just booked in for one in a coupe of weeks time- when I think I will be 8 weeks but the midwives would say i'm 10.

Hopefully get some reassurance and clarity then!!

Thanks so much for the advice.

SF89 · 02/10/2020 12:59

Also @maloney123 my only symptoms have been a metalic taste the odd time, some vivid dreams that keep me up and then some tiredness which I guess is a combination of pregnancy and lack of my usual 6 cups of coffee! its nice to feel good but I also wish I had more sytoms for reassurance as it doesn't really feel like im pregnant at all!

Coffee4me · 02/10/2020 13:47

I'll join as well, due date 6/6. I've had 3 miscarriages in the past few years, so I'm taking it a day by day. 🤞

Happy2be · 02/10/2020 14:45

Hi everyone! Joining in today got a positive test last night and thinking f it all ill test haha. Tested again this morning and both positive. This will be our 2nd and roughly due 15th june... Finallybfp · 02/10/2020 19:18

Congratulations to all the new ladies Smile

PabsyPops · 02/10/2020 22:23

Hi everyone! I hope it is okay to join? I think I am due 1st June according to NHS website and I am 5+3. I have my telephone booking appointment next week which will be when I am 6+2 which seems quite early compared to everyone else on here? When are you all planning on sharing the news with family / friends? 😊

piggie88 · 02/10/2020 22:34

I have my booking appointment over the phone when I'll be 8 weeks. I'm guessing we'll get given our notes at the 12 week scan?
@PabsyPops I'm hoping to wait until at least my early scan at 8 weeks until I tell anyone but I work at a hospital so I think I'm going to have to say something to them sooner. I've told my mum but only because she wanted to come round for a wine night, not planning on telling any other family or friends outside of work until I know everything is okay.

Congratulations to everyone new to the group x

AR52 · 02/10/2020 22:55

Hey everyone,

Had my BFP Sunday, due 5th June. I had a miscarriage in June so trying so hard to relax and not over analyse everything but its so hard Hmm

Rosie0812 · 03/10/2020 05:11

Thanks everyone, I hope everyone is feeling positive and contractions to all the mummy's!! I live in the UK and I've never had a pregnancy before, I rang the midwife department and they said they're going to send me a letter within a week or so for an appointment, because this is all so new to me, please can someone tell me what this appointment is and if it'll be over the phone due to current situation. Sorry for all the question, I'm just very nervous ❤️

Rosie0812 · 03/10/2020 05:13

Congratulations **

TheDaydreamBelievers · 03/10/2020 07:56

Hi @Rosie0812 I think at the moment the nhs are offering an appt over telephone at about 6-9 weeks (they'll ask you a billion Qs), then the 12 week scan. Depending on your healthboard/area some have been told to get bloods done at GP after the telephone appt, some have been told just to get them at 12 week scan appt.

SarahTTC2020 · 03/10/2020 08:28

Hi everyone! Interesting to read about the difference in booking appts. I haven't told my gp yet but had 21 day bloods a week ago so I've put it on my request to discuss the results, hoping they'll phone and not just an email.
I was due for an ultrasound end of this month as part of the fertility investigation so shame I have to cancel that and can't use it as an early scan 😆

cd24x · 03/10/2020 10:15

@Rosie0812 it is likely to be your booking appointment. I called my GP and booked in with the midwife for when I'm 8 weeks (they were pretty adamant that it had to be spot on 8 weeks for some reason). Mine is face to face and it will be an hour long. From what I've heard the midwife will ask questions about medical history, partner history, any previous pregnancies etc. They will also do a blood test. I assume that I will get my maternity notes at this appt.

Some trusts are doing these appointments over the phone. You'd then go separately for the blood test after the appt like @TheDaydreamBelievers has mentioned. I think some trusts are even combining the 12 week scan and booking in appt for the same time. So its entirely down to the area you live in.

RoseA89 · 03/10/2020 11:21

Hi everyone, can I join?

I found out I’m pregnant a couple of weeks ago. I’m now 5 weeks pregnant, EDD 3rd June. This is my first baby so I’m really excited but I’m also feeling extremely anxious. I have hashimotos which is making me worry.

Congratulations to you all!

Rosie0812 · 03/10/2020 11:47

@cd24x @TheDaydreamBelievers Thank you so much for these replies, they're so informative. I will keep everyone updated on what happens if anyone is in the same boat as me and is wondering what's next. I hope everyone is feeling well, I can feel morning sickness coming along!
Congratulations @RoseA89 I hope everything goes smoothly and well for you, you deserve this. ❤️

SarahTTC2020 · 03/10/2020 12:18

Bluebirdsky · 03/10/2020 12:43

Wow @SarahTTC2020 look at those! I ordered some more CB yesterday too. I got a 2-3 weeks this week from 1-2 last Friday but I would like to see a 3+!

Finallybfp · 03/10/2020 12:57

I like in the uk , northumberland and have been told to wait and ring back up when I’m 6 weeks . I will be 6 weeks on Thursday the 8th October but think I’m going to wait until the Monday before I ring you to arrange my first appointment.
I just feel like It’s a waiting game, I just want to have my pregnancy confirmed. The past few days I haven’t really had any symptoms other then feeling more tired and needing to go to the toliet more often. I don’t another test yesterday morning just to make sure I was still pregnant and two pink lines came up instantly so I felt a bit happier. Smile

Lauren28321 · 03/10/2020 13:20

Hi guys, looks like I’ll be joining the club. Took 4 PT on Wednesday and came back positive (although faint lines). Doctors approx that I’m 4 weeks and a few days (due date 10 June) although I feel I may be further along. Had a few symptoms cramping (like period pain) and light spotting which is making me extremely anxious. Thinking Of booking in for an early scan privately ( they offer this service from 6 weeks) to put my mind at rest. What are your thoughts on this? First pregnancy here, thanks for your help 😊

Finallybfp · 03/10/2020 13:55

@Lauren28321 congratulations Lauren. I’m 5 weeks+2 days , I am also thinking of booking a early scan but thinking of trying to wait till about 10weeks . My friend got a early scan at 7 weeks and couldn’t really see anything . When were you thinking of getting one ? X

Lauren28321 · 03/10/2020 14:13

Thanks @Finallybfp for your reply. Congratulations to you also!
Looking online they offer them from 6 weeks plus and therefore was thinking of getting one at 6 weeks- just for confirmation that there’s something definitely there. Although GP estimated I was 4+1 I think I could be further along as my periods have been unpredictable. What was your friend able to see at the seven weeks?

Finallybfp · 03/10/2020 14:20

My friend is due her baby 11th November 2020 , when she had a private 7 week scan to confirm pregnancy she could just see a small circle that was all , she felt like she wished she waited a little later , so it’s kind of put me off wanting to pay for a early scan to early . x
